  1. Jimbo, I'll have to admit it's been one of the more gratifying runs to complete. Can't even bear to think of selling them for a while. Thanks for your help in getting me the last issue in the run!
  2. A big thanks to John (piper) for helping me complete the set!
  3. Amazing hoard, Bat-Hound! Very tough book to find. Here is my best copy
  4. +1 Appreciate you sharing your experience
  5. Toughest issue to find in high grade (7.5+) for me was #118. Went for several years without seeing one for sale and now recently a few have come to auction.
  6. Great transaction, highly recommended seller, thanks!
  7. So far, I've kept them all. I've only slabbed a handful of the books and decided that, for now, I'd rather keep the rest raw. Passing on the FF1 is one of the biggest collecting regrets I had. It was a nice, white, fresh-looking book. It had terrible marvel chipping along the right edge and the seller and I disagreed about how that affected the value of the book. I hope this isn't viewed as derailing the thread, but here is the front cover scan:
  8. Thanks for all of the kind words regarding the book! With regard to the book's history, it was found in a box in an New Hampshire attic by a daughter going through her late father's possessions. Along with this book, there were numerous other pre-hero books and several mega-keys including TOS 39, FF 1, and TTA 27. I ended up buying all of the Marvel books except FF 1 and FF 5 (in hindsight, I should have manned up and bought those as well). Most of the books were in the 6.0-8.0 range but all had unbelievable gloss and freshness. Ironically, the ST 89 was one of the nicest books in the collection. I thought it was probably a 9.2, but some slight spine wear must have held it back.
  9. Been a while since I've uploaded pictures on the forum so I hope the scan uploads properly. I purchased this copy raw from the daughter of the original owner a few years ago.
  10. Pre-hero TOS books were promptly shipped, carefully packaged, tightly graded, and priced right. Great experience, thanks!
  11. Batman 181 pin-up should not be glued in. It is secured by the staples.
  12. Great transaction. Accurate grading, prompt shipment, and carefully packaged. Thanks, Mike
  13. That is an absolute steal for that price! Congrats!
  14. Congratulations John! IMHO, 118 is the toughest early SA Batman issue to find in 7.0 or higher. I've only seen one for sale in the last few years.
  15. Congratulations on some nice pickups. Especially nice copy of 72.
  16. Anyone here win any of the Twin Cities B&B books that sold on Heritage tonight? Some unbelievable prices: B&B 53 9.4 - $1135 B&B 66 9.6 - $1315 I thought I'd be in the running for these 2 but was blown away. Looks like the title is picking up steam.
  17. Another great buying experience. Thanks for the hard-to-find book!
  18. Kudos to paperheart on a great transaction for Brave and Bold 61. Great communication, excellent packaging, and immediate shipment. Thanks!
  19. Kudos to Xavier Logan for 3 SA Batman slabs for my collection! Fast shipment and bomb-proof packaging!
  20. Kudos to Paperheart for recent VCC purchases. The three slabs arrrived today. Thanks for the prompt shipment and excellent packaging!
  21. Great information, thanks. I've always struggled with the proper way to store the DC 100 Page giants and other squarebound books. What do you use for mylar sizes for these books? What about boards? Any advice would be appreciated.
