  1. There was a previous status of on 3/1 of received at CGC (I forget the exact words), which I presume was when the box was opened. On 3/2 I was charged $40 for CGC Pressing. Clairmont/Austin signing was scheduled for early March, books had to be there by 3/1, and I was charged for that on 3/7 - so I presume the signing happened then also. Status then changed to Received at CCS on 4/4, and I was charged another $20 on 4/4. That's what I know - I did pay for pressing - so waiting for that to happen and for them to go to SFG.
  2. I have 2 books that show received 3/1/24 for in-house signing, and went to Received at CCS for cleaning/pressing on 4/4/24 - anxiously awaiting the change to Scheduled for Grading, anyone have recent experience on how long books take to get through CCS? Been almost 5 full weeks.
  3. Does that back tear go through to some of the pages? Appears to be in a different spot than the front. Really bright/presents well, staples look great. I'm afraid these tears being the grade down though, 7.5 maybe, interested to see what others think. Thanks for posting.
  4. I think that small tear has less affect than a 1/4" spine split, which is allowed in at 6.0. Spine and staples look great. There's some wear at the corners, and some creases - but overall this is a great looking book. I'd give it a 7.0-7.5, even with that 1/4" back cover tear due to the rest of the book. a CnP would take out some of the non-color breaking creases and indentations on the cover. Thanks for posting.
  5. I was at 9.2 ;looking at the pictures and the corners plus the tic - surprised to see the 9.8 when I got down that far.
  6. 1.5 allows for up to 1/10th of the back cover to be missing - think we're over that amount missing here. 1.0 - allows no back cover at all - I think you could get a 1.0 - looking at recent sales data on-line still worth sending in.
  7. 9.6 seemed generous, 9.4 to me - can never tell with these higher grade books what they'll get you for and what they'll ignore
  8. 2.0-2.5, getting schooled in Point 5's grading contest, nothing huge missing, pretty discolored but intact
  9. I am not really experienced at this - but based on what I've read on this thread, and then seen when the grade comes back, with a good clean and press I would not be surprised if this grades out at a 7.0.

  11. Thanks - wasn't planning on grading them, just didn't know if this was common (first time I've seen it), and if I should just leave as is or doing something else with them. They do not show any signs of creases as they sit today, and the packaging includes a backing board which has the address label on the outside for mailing.
  12. Bought a lot of X-Men, last 10 issues are still in original packaging from direct mailing. Only including front cover as back includes the name/address of the person who received it. Not sure what to make of these - they've obviously never been read. Don't think I should open them, but was wondering what others thought.
  13. I agree with 7ish as is - a clean/press would get rid of some of the finger bends and non color breaking stuff
  14. No idea, book was bagged and boxed, most of my other books do not show this oxidation and have been stored in the same envoronment.
  15. Have had this 40+ years, just recently pulled my collection from storage. Note the small spine split. Curious how it would grade, and info should send it in.
  16. Trying to decide grade to base fair price to pay for this copy of Fantastic Four 14 - note the tear in the back cover, any comments/grades are appreciated.
  17. Anyone know if it is legal, or in good/bad form, to copy pictures from an eBay listing and share here to get comments on a book's grade before a potential purchase or bid.
  18. It's an eBay listing, so wasn't sure if it was "legal" to take the pics from an eBay listing and post elsewhere so asked the question generally.
  19. If a book appears to be a solid 5.0 or higher, glossy, cover chipping around edges, spine complete no splits, how much would a 2-3 inch tear in the back cover affect the grade? Just the back cover, does not appear to be any tape/attempts to repair.
  20. 9.0 after C&P due to spin ticks, most of the rest of the stuff should come out with the C&P
  21. I'd go 2.0-2.5, if cover is attached. It's rough no doubt - but I've seen worse graded as Fair. At this level worth more as is than graded, so unless the consensus is higher than this, CGC Grading is not going to increase the value.
  22. Thank you. So 2 packing slips/separate submissions, but same box? I haven't tried yet, may not even let me combine into the same submission/slip because they are different ages.
  23. I have a Silver Age Fantastic Four #22 (1963), Bronze Age Iron Man #150 (1981), and Moon Knight #25 (1982) to send in. Should I separate into 2 separate submissions/packages, or combine and send together? Appreciate any advice.
