  1. I fairly recently bought a 6.0 for almost 3K...a 7.5 is likely 4500+...the 7.5 that sold last Feb was part of the embezzler purchase, so I don't "count"...
  2. $22,000 ($26,290.00) so far . . . 5 hours to go Make some folks quite happy. Heck, owning a SC4 is cool. Indeed. Getting some respect finally. I was wrong, only INTERNET bidding ended, it goes to the floor for live bidding, and I assume they will also take bids live via their web site. I felt a nice 7.5 was worth closer to 30K (thumbs u
  3. Ww6 is one of the most in demand books. A couple of years ago I sold a 4.0 for 1k. Today I would pay 50% more than that just to have. So figure 1500-2000 for a 4.0-5.0
  4. it is very close right now first Joker should always keep Bat 1 slightly ahead of Cap 1, but the margin has tightened. If you should go for a Big book now would it be Cap1 or Bat1? which has most longterm upside as you see it? bat 1 will always be a better book, but cap1 has closed the gap.
  5. My opinion is stains deduct too much and miswraps and marvel chipping not enough +1 marvel chipping to me should count the same as if someone took scissors to the edge or the pieces were torn/worn off yep, I can't see a 6.0 blue label with marvel chipping. Too generous a grade. Btw, Bill... What birthday book did you send Bill for his bday Rick? I'm a little torn ...he asked for some risqué pics of me, but I just don't know which ones to send We have plenty of those from the last Pons Con you attended. We slipped a mickey into your coke zero and had our way with you My needs are simple, how about a nice All Star 3 since you don't care for that book much anyway I have lost some love for the book of late

  7. as long as supply remains minimal demand is likely to continue to increase so for the time being, yes
  8. Tec 39 is more significant and a bit scarcer. But the cover to 40 I find very appealing. That said 39 is the better book overall
  9. Bat 1 is not even close to supe 1 (value wise) but cap 1 is right on bat 1 heels now (thumbs u

  11. probably vg/fn or better range. Maybe even 7.0 range (depends on the piece a d how big the year seals etc) 30-40k how large a procentage of 8.5 blue label pricing would that be ... 20% 30-40%

  13. I was just giving some perspective...we know there are likely "thousands" of collectors in NYcity alone...so, that can offset all the little towns that have no collectors
  14. I wonder if they have a coke zero flavored egg nog
  15. It might be insane, but G.A.tor said he saw it with his own eyeballs: http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=2486186&fpart=654 Which is proof enough for me. +1 What we have to remember is that there are people that have been collecting avidly since the 60s and 70s that had the chance to accumulate nice collections over time at low prices. I met this individual because he used to buy case after case of action figures from me in the 90s-2000s. He knew I was also a seller of vintage comics and in early 2000s first invited me to his house. Amazed is an understatement. My now friend started collecting comics in the early 60s when he was a wee lad. He has always collected and accumulated. Many of his comics were buys in the 1970s and 80s. And it is not limited to just af15. He has 10-dozens of copies of all early silver age books (marvel and d c). I've managed over he years to pry a few from him here and there...
  16. I would look to hallmark first I told Hallmark who I got this year and they laughed in my face. Classy
