  1. I think it was a 7.0 the #5 is the Mile High Monk copy (slight resto) now owned by our own skypinkblu
  2. unfortunately I don't seem to have a scan of mine, but I did blow up as clear as I could my 43 from my 1-80 run...it graded a cgc 7.0, but that was highest I ever found (not sure if there are higher graded ones or not)
  3. sha was already covered, or the first would have gone that way (thumbs u
  4. Funny, I've owned at least 5 #7's, I stopped looking to upgrade when I bought your copy...but I searched for ANY copy of the 6's for several years, I had a ton of people looking for one for me and I couldn't even find a coverless one...and yes, I saw the one in the forum, almost bought it as a back up, . there definitely was a dry period for 6's...but in the last 2 years, they have been relatively "plentiful" (as mentioned, I believe I have bought and sold 9 diff copies)
  5. as sharon knows, Sensation 6 was the last Sen I needed and it took me litterally years to track down a decent copy...then, there was a period of a year when at least 5 copies were available... cyclical for sure!
  6. wonder woman 2 is actually one of the more common early WW...maybe recently it appears tough, but in my years of collecting, I have always found it readily available WW 7 is the toughest of the 1-10 run, with 6 close behind (by comparison, I have owned 9 WW 6's to only 3 WW7's and seen dozens of WW 2 in that time)
  7. and to think, I give my RRP and variants away to my customers... I should have been selling them all this time
  8. Keep in mind that some will bid on the slight as if it is in a lower graded blue label since it is "unrestorable" and therefore it command a very strong price
  9. Books like tec 168 are in such high demand that posting a link here won't affect the outcome price at all. Folks that want them search daily and leave no stone unturned (thumbs u
  10. I hate to say, but I generally refrain from publicly commenting on books I have an interest in (so as not to sway bidding or , naturally, reveal my strategy)... if you are going for it too, I will certainly wish you good luck (thumbs u
  11. I have a copy. I've seen these for sale before, never felt they were specially rare or scarce. bob, you might have actually bought one of my copies
  12. I think I have a copy still (or I upgraded it and sold it long ago), and I sold my entire kdf run, so I must have had 2...but since I haven't searched for centaurs in some time, I am too rusty to comment on rareness
  13. I can happily say we swept all 3 from now #1 FSU for the first time since 1958...I firmly believe if we stay healthy, we will see the orange and blue in Omaha this year
  14. Gator I'm pretty interested on your thoughts on this as well. I have a coverless TEC #29 with a repro cover and I know some people prefer to keep things like that coverless. Does it make a difference, in your opinion, as far as FMV goes, with having a coverless GA key spruced up with a cover copy rather than left alone? a repro cover should not affect value at all...the book is "coverless", regardless of what you put it in... that said, I would be just as happy having a repro cover, if for no other reason than to offer protection to the interior wraps (thumbs u
  15. sorry I missed this... coverless copies of really rare books are cool, especially if you like the stories......there is absolutely no reason to slab it (unless you plan to sell)... if you are keeping, and having a repro/copy cover makes you feel better, do it...but you know what the cover looks like, so it shouldn't diminish your enjoyment leaving it just as is (I have a coverless copy of amazing man 26, and I would never slab, or sell, but I had thought about creating a cover for it, just "because" )
  16. dust shadows valuation differs from person to person...I personally dislike dust shadows and I view the book as "less" regardless of the numerical grade... so I would rather have a 9.0 with no dust shadow than a 9.2/9.4 with (the ole "buy the book not the grade")... so for me, yes, it kills the price (IMO)...but there are some that chase the number and will not be detered by the dust shadown
  17. all of the all winners from 6-12 are in demand due to their wonderful covers and stories...pretty much all 7 issues go for multiples of guide...nothing any more special about 7 than , say, 12...just more demand than supply (thumbs u
  18. That one sold for a premium due to pressing/grade increase potential (thumbs u I've noticed that with a handful of books - going notably above GPA because of potential for a grade bump with pressing. Can an experienced eye such as yours actually tell from the scans alone, or do you call CGC for notes, or ... combo of visual and notes. If a book looks nicer than assigned grade (we've all seen those) it prompts folks to call for notes and from there one can make an educated guess.
