  1. your books suck...I'll be a pal and take them off your hands (at a substantial discount, of course)
  2. the collector in me was bidding on this one, wasn't being pursued for resale (at least in my case )
  3. it is pretty nice looking...imo, nicer than the wm 8.0 with the big chip out...that is why I went strong on it, and thought about putting 35001, but no idea if that would have won or not
  4. I thought I had it. 35 was a good number though
  5. I was high bidder with 6 secs left. Thought I won then refreshed
  6. I give Joey the double thumbs u (Thumbs u (thumbs u
  7. It was an angled pic, not a scan. I saved it but not sure where
  8. bill, can you scan that page and post it here for those of us that don't have access to it?
  9. cool...why is your name in pink I don't know. I guess Arch is flirting with me. shoot, after the full body oil massage I gave him last week, I thought for sure I would have gotten at least some flowers Try changing your screen name to GAYtor. only parker gets to call me that

  11. joker (many covers) vs two face (few covers)... but, as mentioned, all those 1950's dc's are scarce (thumbs u #193 is much tougher than other Joker covers. #180, for example, has 20 graded copies. much tougher to find a graded or nicer copy, but not much tougher...I had 5 or 6 raw 193's not too too long ago...(just a book I keyed in on at the time)

  14. that is the rub..."reasonable"...I have 2 copies right now (one is for sale)...but, I would not consider the prices "reasonable" by ospg or most folks expectations.... I have a vf+ copy (bought as a vf- but pressed a fully grade higher imo ) I paid relatively HUGE money for ...I also have a cgc 5.0 that I wouldn't take less than 900 for, just because I sold my last 5.0 for that...so, reasonable has to be defined in terms of current market value...
  15. Yes, Detective Comics 187 was the issue. Not only did Jay claim it was the toughest issue to find but many other seasoned collectors did as well. SLR As mentioned it really is no tougher to find than 186 or 188. And in today's Internet age it is fairly available. I know I have sold at least a half dozen copies here on the boards. And another 10+ at cons. So while scarce it is available (though much pricier than surrounding issues)
  16. In general most early 1950 s dc books are scarcer... Couple with the fact that it sports a cool two face cover makes it more in demand. However, it has generally been available of late... I know dark knight has owned multiple copies... Someone mentioned bat-hound owns double digit quantities..I have owned 15+ in the past 4 years too. So you just have to search for it but one comes up for sale fairly regularly (thumbs u
  17. Filter81 sold this book some time ago. It will no doubt hit 6 figs
  18. If the book otherwise presents as, say a 9.0 then the universal grade might be justified (don't know without seeing). Perhaps a qualified grade would be more appropriate Again, without specifics impossible to comment on relative value
