  1. had to have a little fun with it
  2. not near as nice in hand...the scan doesn't tell the story...it is a 5.5 for a reason (don't get me wrong, it looks "fine", but doesn't look VF like the scan makes it appear too...)
  3. I Think I bought that copy off ebay in 2006 for $3600...sold it in 2008 for $5K... don't remember to whom
  4. it was sold in the last Clink auction that ended last week...my understanding is that the new owner already has it in hand (thumbs u
  5. I know it`s not. It`s a "#2", and I was comparing it to other #2s like SC 23 and B&B 29. For what it`s worth, among those 3 books, my personal order of preference in 9.2 or better would be: B&B 29 SC 8 SC 23 I can certainly agree with that list (thumbs u Actually, the #2 I would really like is Adventure 267.
  6. I've got a couple of neat MLJ's I need to scan and post one day
  7. I know it`s not. It`s a "#2", and I was comparing it to other #2s like SC 23 and B&B 29. For what it`s worth, among those 3 books, my personal order of preference in 9.2 or better would be: B&B 29 SC 8 SC 23 I can certainly agree with that list (thumbs u
  8. Settle down oh ye of the multiples. Most of us would be thrilled with 1! as underbidder, I am always sad to lose...but, as I told bunky, if I am going to lose, at least it is to such a dreamy fellow Maybe you can drown your sorrows in the 3.0 copy that just appeared in the August CL focused auction preview. I had made multiple offers on that copy while it was in the exchange, but to no avail
  9. You are the Da-man Gator...send it my way. I know foolkiller mention he knows of a super high grade and I wonder is that the one and the other high grade one you sold. my friend doesn't know brian, so it is not the same one...but it is the guy I got the raw 9.0 (pressed) from (was his undercopy, which is why i know there is at least one nicer copy for sure)...this is the same collector that has a box full of AF15's...25+ last time I was at his house...at least 2 , maybe more, that I think are 9.0+ candidates ...so, as mentioned, there are very likely several very nice copies still floating out there, and countless others we don't even know about but might discover one day (thumbs u
  10. ian paid $8000 for his VG copy. i think it was from harley yee... other than the copy on heritage back in 2006 the comiclink copy is the only copy i have seen come to public auction. this is the 2nd one clink has auctioned, I believe...and of course, your copy to phil, back to you, etc, as well as the sdcc copy and the one listed on ebay that ended with a private sale... I have seen at least 6+ in the past few years...

  12. I can say with certainty that there is a potential 9.2 out there...will it ever be slabbed? will it ever be sold? will it ever be pressed to ensure a 9.2?...can't say...but trust me, there is at least 1 (and probably a few more) out there that we might not really see anytime soon (if ever at all)
  13. That and the fact that NA 26 is one of the most highly sought after covers by Flessel. one of MY biggest regrets was selling the NA26 8.0SP copy (2 twice ) so i HAD to win this! Aha! So you're the one who won the book.. I was actually the underbidder and lost Congrats on a nice pick-up! Glad it went to a boardie So is this really THE toughest DC book? nope, not by a long shot...there are lots of tougher books, but in much less collected titles (buzzy, funny stuff, comic calvacade, etc)...ever since Ian publicized this issue so much, I bet we have seen 6-10 copies trade hands... jus sometimes takes some big $ to make folks shake some out (all this my opinion of course)
  14. Contender and potential...give us some hope SC 4 is on the way back into folks hearts... SC22 and BB 28 are GREAT, but SC 4 is still "the" book that started it all... that said, I congratulate all you owners
  15. Aha, so you're the one who drove up the price... (thumbs u don't be fooled B...brian has been out to get you for years...YEARS!!! I tell you...it is a conspiracy...he ate your goat
  16. SC 22 won't replace SC 4 as #1, but I think it has firmly planted itself as a solid 2...congrats PW...if you have to sell your af15 to pay for this, lmk
  17. consider it brung... smooth transaction I had with D...so smooth in fact, I am litterally ready to just throw money at him (thumbs u
