  1. yep, been there for weeks...just waiting on pricing info
  2. Prices were down this auction. A good omen for us poorer collectors hopefully. 2nd time you got a Action 2 Ben, Keep this one. Its one of O'Mealia's best covers. by my count, it is at least his 6th action 2 Good news is when I think Action 2 I think you

  4. Some other issues that you almost never see in the higher grades are #36 and #43 (thumbs u 50-80 are notoriously "impossible" to find in high grade...in fact, they are down right scarce in general... 30-40's are hard too, getting closer to that 1950's DC 'production issues" There's nothing easy about 90 - 99 Highest graded copies so far: 90 6.5 91 7.5 92 8.0 93 9.0 94 8.5 95 7.0 96 8.5 97 9.0 98 7.0 99 8.0 Though there are still some copies that haven't been graded. no doubt they are tough, but I only collected golden age
  5. Why did you sell it to someone who didn't treasure it enough to keep it more than a year? you would have to ask the buyer...when he bought it (at a great price I must ad), he more than indicated that this was his "grail"... however, to be honest, once I sell a comic that I bought specifically for resale, it is really none of my business what the owner does with it... I think I have sold over 20 copies of SC22 in the past 3 years and I would bet that outside of the 9.0 and maybe one or 2 others, all have been flipped at some point Well Rick there's one certain 4.5 ow/w that will never be flipped. you were one of the few I was thinking of (thumbs u And I still have a my 4.0... Thanks Rick...
  6. well, I was willing to goto 120K on the bound volume, but someone outbid me by one increment live at 110K + BP (130ish)...congrats...for those that were spouting 175-250K, you should listen to me also knew there would be zero interest in the restored action 1 8.0 at anything north of 100K...c'est la vie, I would have paid 100K for it
  7. here is a pretty former "group" shot
  8. I was expecting the book to go in the 100-120K range... I was high bidder at 89K before the reserve kicked in and currently there is no bidder willing to step up at the reserve price...at this point, I suspect the lot will pass, as 180K is way high (IMO) and I don't know anyone that is paying that for it (though of course, I don't know everyone )... that said, maybe someone will step up and bid, but as of now, I wish it had of been a no reserve auction so that we could truly determine value...c'est la vie rick THIS BEING A MODERATE 8.0 INDICATES THAT IT COULD HAVE BEEN A 3.5/4.0ish book before restoe. edit: didnt see the caps lock was on ... As such this book could be :blahblah:'ed up or :blahblah:'ed down your logic is sound, to a degree...unfortunately, the comic book marketplace does not view restored books as logic would dictate...once "restored" it is forever "ruined" to the previous grade (so long as resto can't be reversed)...this of course, was not always the case, but has been for the past 10+ years and I see no signs of that trend reversing anytime soon (ie post cgc years) so, it should fall in line with restored prices paid for the book, which, is in the 100-120K range (max, imo)... and there are several high grade restored action 1's on the market as we speak, so another diluting factor How would you estimate the current "possibilities" for a similar (i.e. HG plod) Tec27? we havent seen any of those for a while now ... they tend to sell a bit less... we have sold the restored cgc 8.5, the 9.2 years ago , and we currently have a 7.0 mod rest...I would imagine that rest tec27 lag just a bit behind action 1, as unrestored copies do... but there does seem to be less HG rest tec 27's in the market , I concur with you
  9. Hey! You can flip it now under the premise that it's the "worst known copy"! You'll get megabucks I'm sure. (thumbs u oh, I have seen TONS of worse looking copies...that is nice for a 1.0 (thumbs u

  11. I'm a woman and I like comic books you are the exception to the rule (thumbs u

I have to say, you've sold more SC22 than anyone in the last three years. The 7.5 ow/w you've sold...so far is the highest PQ copy for any SC22 in 7.5+. Besides the stamp marking on the 6.5, it's the best 6.5 so far. the raw 9.0 I sold also had ow/w paper for sure (though, not sure if it was actually cgc graded or not, I got conflicting reports post sale)
  15. I do indeed... never had a problem with 3, but 7 is fairly popular due to the prez cover...
  16. I have only ever owned 4 copies I believe (though have passed on several others)...none the less, it is a tough one
  17. I sold that copy last year (thumbs u How many years was it in your closet? By the number of copies you've owned of this particular book Rick, It must be a BIG closet I just added up...26 copies purchased, and 25 sold, with one more pending... so, 26 for 26... one of these days I might even keep a copy for myself, but since I rarely collect SA, probably not
