  1. if you live in Alaska the book is definitely cool
  2. Elite 8 baby! The Gators will be back in the Final Four. Third national title in 6 years?
  3. Action 1 trumps the other 2 for me... Followed by tec 27... I would never equate (personally) any af15 in any condition with those 2
  4. No real impact imo So would you consider the FMV of the 8.0 Action #1, 8.0 Tec #27, and 9.6 AF #15 to be about equal (since they all recently sold within a very close price-range)? I don't consider any sale like that to be fmv... Each is unique and unlikely to be duplicated only potentially exceeded by themselves
  5. Didn't follow it. What was the result ?
  6. Unliely to have any noticeable impact
  7. that certainly would be an option, I suppose...didn't even think about it... I never called for notes, as I was not interested in the copy, but one conceivably could, if they were curious
  8. I would respectfully differ. I think that unless the market for all comics slackens considerably that the base price for the Big 2 (action 1, tec 27) will be 100K for anything complete and at all presentable. I think the buyers for this and the comiclink copy both got pretty good deals considering the longterm, and while there may be other deals for this and tec 27 that come along, a buyer can't count on copies appearing the way they can for lesser books. the reason I dissagree is that "that" time is now... nicely restored or low grade copies are already at the 100K entry point...but we have had 4 sales now, in the past year, all at 72K and under, for franken restored copies, and low grade/restored/brittle... so, I contend that the market is about as high on "these" type of copies as it is going, because there has never been as much demand as there is now, and prices for "comparable" type grails have already escalated to the point that if these copies were going to be 100K copies, short and far sighted folks would be willing to pay that now... you "always" have to overpay for an action 1 or tec 27, so I don't consider these "deals", but near end pricing (for these particular copies) (thumbs u In the case of the CC copy that just sold? I wonder if it might have been bought with the intention of removing the old Amateur resto/tape. Restoring it again trying to raise the apparent grade as high as possible. And makes me wonder if that played into the price paid for an Amateur, brittle paged copy. The one thing it has going for it though is that pesky but important little word. "Complete" I of course could be totally wrong. won't go much higher with brittle pages...isn't 3.0 the highest cgc gives a comic with brittle pages Makes me wonder if that designation could be upgraded with washing/casting etc. Like I joked about earlier, just how brittle are they? We both know the term "brittle" can cover a LOT of ground. So if only a few outer wraps were "brittle", I would say the entire PQ could be upgraded with some work done. Not unheard of. Hard to say though without seeing the interior. a call for notes will reveal much, young jedi

  11. I doubt this purchase will ever be considered a "bargain"... the pq hurts the book to some degree, as well as condition... that said, congrats to whomever picked it up, but I doubt it will appreciate all that much in the future, other than the appreciation the owner gives it (thumbs u
  12. Splutter! Guess I really did sell them then - thought it might have been just a horrible dream... saw them on clink...forgot to inquire ...congrats josh
  13. My bad, I saw it, but thought you were laughing at us for not having multiple copies You know that is not my style
  14. Though I am a collector, not a dealer, I concur with Roy's observation that the Wonder Woman title itself is more popular than Sensation or All Star. As a WW collector I wanted a WW #1. I have also heard from Dealers that Sensation 1 is a hard sell. nothing hard about selling any of the 3, as long as you have priced right (thumbs u
  15. first, let's be clear, none of the 3 are "rare" or even scarce...all are readily available, in a variety of grades and conditions (plod vs blue) pretty much every day of the week... in fact, WW 1 is as population available as All Star 8 (81 each on the cgc census)...sensation 1's numbers are about 70% of that (56), but mainly because, imo, it is more of the "forgotten" title to non WW collectors, and AS is so much "higher" in the guide, more submissions are driven.. which is more desirable...to the "general" GA collector, AS 8 holds more appeal, for many of the above mentioned reasons... however, AS as a title, doesn't hold the appeal it once did, to today's "cover drive cgc" collectors... it used to be said that you were not a " real" GA collector unless you had collected AS...that has changed... WW 1 is a later (1942) released, in more quantity, of a character already firmly established by AS and Sens 1...so, that one falls 3rd, for a myriad of reason... If one is a WW only collector, then quite honestly, Sensation 1's cover is likely to put it a nose ahead of AS 8...and there is a concensus there is less supply (but relative to demand, about equal) but, overall, AS 8 would or "should" win by a nudge, if one is looking at investment only (history, genre, story, etc)
  16. Gorgeous book, Rahigh (really rich colors) on a par with my 8.5 Lloyd Jacquet copy! I sold a 9.4 copy in NY last oct ... Was really nice move this over to the "books i used to own" thread, please. I didn't post it
