  1. c'mon man! Everybody knows a woodchuck would chuck as much wood as a woodchuck could, if a woodchuck could chuck wood! agreed, I think that the woodchuck could chuck as much wood as he wanted
  2. a 2.0 sold for $750 recently, so yes, I figured if there was a 1.0, probably a little more than 1/2... I remember a slight .5 tec 35 that sold for 3900 or so, but was unaware of any selling for more
  3. interesting ...naturally, a myriad of factors would go into determining...not all 1.0's are created equal, so values could vary WIDELY...but, I'll take a stab: 27 in 1.0 is likely $60K- ish (maybe more, this book is tough to predict)... I bought a 1.0 cgc in 2006 for 39K...I also bought a 1.5 for $83K a year and a half ago, so maybe 80K is not unrealistic... too many variables to accurately guesstimate on this one... 28 in 1.0 is likely $5K (a 2.0 sold for about 6 or 8K not too long ago...kimik could chime in on this one) 29 in 1.0 is likely $7-8K (I know a 2.0 sold for 13K +, but that book was more the exception, imo...presented much nicer than a typical 2.0) 30 in 1.0 is likely $750-$1000ish 31 in 1.0 is likely 7-8K 32 in 1.0 is likely 750 or so 33 in 1.0 is likely 3-4K or so 34 in 1.0 is likely 400 or so 35 in 1.0 is likely 4-5K 36 in 1.0 is likely 1500 -2000 37 in 1.0 is likely 1500 -1700 naturally, tough to approximate as there are just not that many 1.0's out there, and they don't change hands frequently enough to really form trends...
  4. that is a stunning looking copy... unfortunately, the trimming will really take a toll on value...if it was just slight, with no trimming, i would say 50% of unrestored value...with the trim, 25% is most I would pay or value it at...so let's say an unrestored 9.0 would sell for 4K or so, then I would value this copy at 1K or so...give or take
  5. now that is an acceptable " " your is acceptible
  6. unless you two ers are stepping up to the plate, let the "real" pre robin tec collectors speak I need a new career to join a club like this me too
  7. unless you two ers are stepping up to the plate, let the "real" pre robin tec collectors speak
  8. now I wonder who might join the tec 27 club
  9. Congratulations to both of you! Actually it will be a 3 way deal which was great and really shows how great this board is. I will be getting Andre's undercopy and will post as soon as I get it :-) I have now managed a run of 28-30, but think like many others I will just not be able to get that 27. Time will tell. Thanks guys for making this deal work out and thanks also to Gator. James G don't thank me, I was just a spectator... it was a great deal for all involved... those are the "perfect storms" I love to hear about...everyone wins
  10. I consider it incomplete... PR to fr...I recently had this same discussion with a boardie that disagrees
  11. also, 120 for a true fr/gd, is "reasonable"
  12. I sold a nice VG (raw) for $250 (right at guide)...so, yes, must have been the "exception"...a cgc 6.0 just sold for 475 (about 1.2x guide)... as a frame of reference... for a fair copy, I would pay 75 "happily" and if $100 is what it takes to get, that is not an unreasonable price either Sitting at $120 and graded Fr/Gd with no room to negotiate grade or price, so it looks to be on the high side with the info you gave...thanks (thumbs u Let's see other books I was considering Sugar and Spike 5 solid VG/VG+...not a hot book but not much supply either...what would the G.A. tor buyer look to spend? Also, curious if it is worthwhile to think about Archie Universe books...Wilbur, Katy Keene, etc. Will the rising tide lift anything outside of frontline Archie Characters? all the low number sugar and spikes I have seen sell, are tylically at 50-70% of guide (cgc graded)...so, I suspect a vg , which guides for 140ish, could be had for 75 or less
  13. that is the last BB I need to complete my LBCole run and
  14. I sold a nice VG (raw) for $250 (right at guide)...so, yes, must have been the "exception"...a cgc 6.0 just sold for 475 (about 1.2x guide)... as a frame of reference... for a fair copy, I would pay 75 "happily" and if $100 is what it takes to get, that is not an unreasonable price either
  15. not terribly expensive in GD...so 50% of GD guide for a fair is "fair"
  16. Of the titles that interest you ...captain marvel will get you more bang for the Buck...but resell would be hindered
  17. I've heard that Wilhelm Uthe has a nice collection... I'll think I'll stop over this weekend and take a peek Bill, can you pick up that low grade BLUE BOLT #1 he still owes me and punch him in the face? Thanks loads. (thumbs u tec 35 for me please Looks like he is up in Hamelin. It is about 4 hours from here. I'll see what I can do big wheel time

  19. the 7.5 went to a friend at a "friendly" price... the 6.0 was pressable. hence the stronger asking price
  20. Fiction House (though some might argue barks first, I am partial to Planet, Fight, etc) Barks EC Fawcett Gator is the guru, but I would actually put Barks books at the bottom of the list. As much as I admire his work, Disney product in general will devalue over time due to a vastly changing kid's market and a move away from 2-D animation. And Barks books being the most expensive will devalue the most. My list would be... Fiction House EC / Fawcett (these two are interchangeable to me. Both have adequate supply, yet both are extremely high quality in relation to present values.) Barks I come uninvited to this party, but..... ECs (extremely cheap and reasonably, even in high grade, and there have never been warehouse finds of these, unlike Fawcetts and Fiction House, they are also relatively short easy runs to complete. Barks stuff - mostly due to Disney's significance Fiction House - Still some nice stuff at resonable prices, but other than Baker stuff and a few classic covers, alot of the same stuff over and over and alot of it is non descript Fawcetts - if you have read one, you have read most of them, some classic war covers though, and the late stuff is pretty tough, especially in grade like you need an invitation
  21. 80 to 85k....there estimate is way off..
