All Star #1 or Superman #2, ...I'll take both! you can't play this way.....you must choose! :makepoint: :makepoint:...and it's not silly! :makepoint: :makepoint:...this is one of the most popular threads in the GA section for almost 1 full year :makepoint: Steve I choose both
  11. ok , this one is "tougher"....that supes 2 is cool, but I would go with AS 1 simply because it is the church copy, and looks fantastic! rick
  12. tec 1, easy choice again, for me...no interest in black hood (at least not yet) rick
  13. (thumbs u All-Flash #1 - the Rodney Dangerfield of DC GA keys. true, AF1 is not the "king", but it is a book that eventually I want a nice copy of....it is just "way" down my list rick
  14. Thanks! I have decided to stop posting books in another Gold Comics thread, and post them here. (I will still continue to post in the group shot thread) I forgot, the #158 is not GA but the rest of them are. Mike hey action 158 is GA...didn't that come out in early 1950?....GA goes through 1955 or so rick
  15. not even a contest...AA 16 without hesitation for me rick
  16. A lot of the major books have, a Tec #31 CGC 5.0 sold for $8,000 in 2004, then $13,500 in Novemeber 2006, the Crippin 5.5 sold for $17,327 a year ago so these books are red hot and no signs of slowing down. And this increase in price all so accurately captured by Overstreet as evident by the following: 1) Value of 'Tec 31 in Fine 6.0 in 2004 guide was $8,445 2) Value of 'Tec 31 in Fine 6.0 in 2007 guide now at $10,200 for an almost 21% increase in value over 4 years As for the doubling in value for the VG 'Tec 27, Overstreet must definitely have this one right as evident by the following: 1) Value of 'Tec 27 in VG 4.0 in 2004 was $62,500 2) Value of 'Tec 27 in VG 4.0 in 2007 now at $67,000 for a huge 7.2% increase in 4 years. Now, that's what I call doubling! Interesting to note that the OS values were a lot closer in 2004 and probably even a bit on the high side as compared to now. Of course, not sure if we've had any sales lately to verify the higher dollars that we are throwing around. don't have to have sales data to know what I would likely be willing to pay...that is where my numbers came from (that, and obvious trends of late) rick
  17. indeed it has...if you were not watching during the heritage years of summer of 2003 to fall of 2004, you missed out seeing about 6 copies of tec 27, all cgc blue from 1.0 to 3.0 to 4.0 (multiple copies) and a slight 6.0 be offered, and I think 3 more were on ebay during that same time...there was a little swing down in the price, due to the quantity temp available, relative to supply, and the economy was a little slower then (rebounding post 9/11).... "that" was the time to buy tec 27's! but today, all pre robin tecs are back in the 1.5 to 2x guide mode, with 35 being the exception, it is about 4-5x guide! gator
  18. I believe it was around $160K, and is potentially available again, for a small premium over that gator
  19. wasn't this the original owner collection from a little ole lady who lived round the corner of the comic shop and walked in one day with Action #1 thru #18 or something,.. that's the way I heard the story,.. please clarify any discrepancies. Pretty much. She called first to see if we were interested. The collection also had a long run of pre-hero More Funs and Adventures, some Batman Detectives. Just an awesome collection. "to see if we were interested" Now that's funny,.. "no maam, sorry we wouldn't be interested in Unrestored Action Comics #1 thru #18 plus an assortment of other GA DCs. do you have any POGS to sell ?" thanks for the info Ciorac. (thumbs u bill, didn't another store actual pretty much say just that? rick
  20. I doubt it Give me a G give me a P give me a A... That Tec 27 only sold for 35 or 40K, while the 31 guide and half or doubled Oversrtreet days past... a vg tec 27 today would sell for $90-$100,000 a vf tec 31 today would sell for $65-$75,000 tec 27 in a landslide, from the financial aspect rick
