  1. Thanks Ronaldo ...I think you're kinda cute too :luhv: I don't know about ronaldo , but you might could say that about his gal rick
  2. i've been offered tickets to the lsu/usc nat'l championship game in N.O. in exchange for my 8.5 Action 1. i turned it down. yeah, at least an Action 1 you can enjoy...no point having tickets that will be fan made, as there is no way in heCGCll that the Tigers are going to the Nat Champ!....we all know it is Florida vs Texas gator
  3. So true Angelo. You and Matt??? Jealous? He does look handsome. ZAP! ...score one for AS.... gator
  4. 7.0 maybe 7.5 on the action 1 9.6 to 9.8 on the AF15
  5. Don't forget Destroyer's copy. He's supposed to throw it off the Crescent bridge to me as I'm cruising under it on Saturday. (An experiment to see if slabs are waterproof) yep, ole D is now part of the Action 1 owners club...I unfortunately sold mine years ago... another board member that has one is bluechip...and someone posted the charlie sheen ebay copy last year, so at least 5 owned have been posted here... filter81 has owned a couple, but I don't think has one in his possession now rick I think I posted both of mine, didn't I? It's okay if you post them again (thumbs u Ok, here goes. I bought this one from Roter in 1996 And this,of course, was the one from the Action run I bought (look how young Matt was!) Sadly, both copies are in the hands of other collectors. They have remained in their hands since I sold them. So perhaps I can get them back one day. keep me in mind for one
  6. pretty sure the dentist has every DC key...I heard his was a VF/NM, but only "heresay" rick
  7. I believe he bought it direct, so no monkey stuff done to it rick
  8. JV has the Mile High AA 16...told me it was likely a 9.4...but, outside of that, I don't know of another really nice copy (sacentaur has the next best one, I think) rick
  9. this is a case where the detective in me would choose the AA 16....tec 38 is "common", and even in high grade, far more readily available than "any" unrestored AA 16 (gd or better)... gator
  10. hello all... I bet if we had a show of hands, who has a complete or is trying to complete the majority of a WW run (GA) versus the MF spectre run (just 52-67), the WW collectors would win hands down...why, because they are more available, and priced a whole lot less... I know that coolj, probably jbcomicbox, maybe bangzoom and myself have a complete spectre run of MF (esquire could, but he is so darned picky!)... but, just evidences by the WW thread, a far greater # of folks on this board actively collect WW/sensations vs MF... again, price and scarcity might have something to do with, but I think overall appeal does too rick

  12. about 10 years ago, John Ostrander and Tom Mandrake had perhaps one of the best modern runs of comics I have ever read...the Spectre....and, even though they managed 5 years before cancellation, it still got canceled (and this when books were selling 100,000 copies each, easily).... so, I don't hold my breath for a spectre series to be brought back...in the past year, DC has tried 2x, and I liked both Spectre storylines, but they just lack the popularity to maintain any sales momentum... WW, on the other hand...tremendously undervalued right now (speaking on the vintage side of comics)....and, tremendously popular now as well rick
  13. very true..there are far more AS 8's available, than MF 52 (likely 4 to 1 ratio).. if we are talking vg for vg, then MF 52 hand's down... but, as peter knows, AS 8 in a 9.0 is as rare as a MF 52 in 7.5 (just check the census)...so, then I have to look at the character, and the demand and popularity moving forward... Spectre is basically non existant in the current DC storylines, while Wonder Woman continues to be #3...10 years from now, WW will likely still be #3, and thus, in my opinion, have more demand than MF 52...so, my choice was purely financially motivated rick
  14. for GA geeks, More Fun 52 is still a grail (for the reasons showcase said)...that said, for a modern "investment" return, AS 8 is hands down the better choice (for JTM reasons).... I would say they are equal to me, but if I had to choose, I would choose AS 8 because of the future "value", but the "geek" in me would regret not taking the NF 52 rick
  15. nothing...but eric is a much more accessible individual, and shows his stuff off rick
  16. I'm not sure how the rules to Oregon Duck football apply to comics, or if there is really enough available info for the kind of guide you're looking for, but beer and comics - (thumbs u you know, I didn't even know Oregon had a football team?...isn't that an all girls school? gator hey, why don't you wait 'til your team does something of note before you make fun of someone else's favorite....wait a minute--oh, yeah, now i remember. never mind. We are the boys from old Florida F - L - O - R - I - D - A Where the girls are the squarest, the boys are the fairest of any old state down our way. We are all gay for old Florida, down where the old Gators play. In all kinds of weather, we'll all screw together. for F - L - O - R - I - D - A fixed that song for ya!
  17. Refresh my memory, what was the scuttlebutt on the 9.2 copies? minor c/t and or glue rick
  18. nope, had no idea he had a copy? rick He had a mini auction and a bunch of books never received bids, think the opening bid on this was $1,250. A few days later he extended the auction for 3-4 more days and then this book sold for around $1,900 (I think). Would have been a nice deal at $1,250 even with the grease pen marking. [/img] All say, schnikey! I would have paid 1250 for that...shucks rick
  19. Are you referring to Bill Hughes copy that was recently auctioned? nope, had no idea he had a copy? rick
