  1. New version of The Red Iceberg? Recently picked this up. It's beat, but I think it's a previously undocumented "In The Wild" version of the Catechetical Guild classic The Red Iceberg. This has a Florida Liquid Propane Gas Association imprint on the back cover. Is this a new version?
  2. A fave Simon and Kirby crime cover, Three Prime Crime Femmes, And a reminder - that all this good clean crime fun led to some of the strictest restrictions on free speech ever imposed in our history.
  3. What a whole lot of great crime comics! I know we were in good hands where early in the thread two people posted "Dead End Crime Stories". (thumbs u Thanks to all posters - great covers and some really tough runs! Lots of what I was going to post has been posted already - some amazing copies! Here are some others. Atlas Crime/Horror title...

  5. Thanks so much for the links. However, that DC Indexes list of Sherman's work doesn't have him as working on Real Fact #18. Looking at the sample of Sherman's Dr. Fate work, it seems hard to believe it's the same artist, unless he matured dramatically in a few years. So does anyone know for sure who this artist is - whether it's Sherman or not? Thanks!
  6. Real Fact is a great comic! Here is a question for you OBSCURE D.C. specialists! Really like the art on this story. comics.org has it as "Howard Sherman?" Is this Howard Sherman? Where else did he do such good work? Thanks!
  7. Mr. Robot Man, Tapping into your vast memory banks...can you please tell me, do you have any information on this metal tray featuring Opper's Alphonse and Gaston? And do you know of others like it? Thanks!
  8. Sure - with all the great books popping up here, I didn't think folks would be much interested in this. I like the Big Shot title - with Vincent Sullivan as editor, the books have interesting characters and a decidedly early DC feel. That is a great book, Steve! Love the Sparky Watts Big Shots but never saw #1 before!
  9. Really like this one. Neal Adams art on this giveaway to promote D.C.'s Dollar Comics to distributors and newsstands.
  10. Here is a fun set of transforming COMMANDRON toys with a D.C. comic in each package. I can't find any other information about these. Supposedly they were a test run for a McDonald's giveaway that never took off. Don't know who's in the comics. Should I open the packs and find out?
