  1. That CC copy is really nice looking and I love the blurb...

    Overstreet 40 NM- $225.00

    Last 9.8 GPA...

    $13,000.00!

    :o

I'm happy with my raw $30 convention purchase from 2 years ago.

I'd love to have a nicer copy but these prices that Bats 227 have been getting lately for the 9.2's and up are a bit much for me.

Would this book be even higher in demand or 'value' if Adams also did the interior art?

  2. Interesting topic and a bit out of my league as owning any of the 3 is a bit far off in the future I think.

That being said, I absolutely love the cover to Wonder Woman 1... to me it's more iconic than the others.

I'm not sure why I think that but I'm just drawn to that cover and can't wait to someday own one!

Maybe it's the war theme or the fact that they used 'Doughboy' style helmets for the US troops (if those are US troops and not British)... and then you have the Germans with their Maxims, a really well drawn horse, a yellow cover that pops...

    I don't know.

    I guess it's just me! :)

  3. Going along with the football theme here, I loved the NFL Action Team Mate figures. Very hard to find now and most of the ones you find are damaged or missing the boxes/accessories. I remember spending hours just smashing these guys together. Like Megos, many came in both boxes or on cards. They had African American figures too, which are pretty rare today. They were about 7 or 8 inches tall I think and they had removable helmets too which was really cool.

What was really cool is each figure came with a full set of decals so you could change the numbers to whatever player you wanted.

FINALLY!!!! After 25 years I have acquired a Cleveland Browns Action Team Mate. I'm so juiced about this. You rarely see these for sale outside of the same handful that are always on ebay (typically Steelers and Cowboys). Then this past week a bunch showed up. Apparently seller's uncle passed away and he inherited these, which were in a storage locker. Amazingly, he had 23 of the original 28 teams and almost all were in really great shape. I missed out on getting more but I made sure to get the one I wanted. And to top it off I scored a boxed Atlanta Falcons figure from another seller for 1/2 of what the loose figure went for. 2 figures down, just 54 more to go counting the African American versions.

Thanks for posting this (and the original posting too!)...

I totally forgot about these and now I have to find a Los Angeles Rams player!

  4. If anyone finds a CGC 9.2 at the minimum, somebody give me a PM!

This book still eludes me.....

Haganland has one. There's a pic posted of it in this thread where there's debate whether it should be a 9.2 or not. Debate aside, it's a really nice copy with white pages and I liked it enough to ask them if it was still available.

They didn't actually quote me price, but mentioned that the GPA averages trend towards $700 and that they would be open to fair offers.

You can reach them at: haganland@hotmail.com

Based on that book, what would this one be?

  5. I've had these all for a while, but I've been upgrading, slowly, VERY slowly...I doubt I'll finish anytime soon, so I figured I'd better take a picture while I had some time...Just couldn't get real clear shots of them all without climbing on the furniture, but I may try another camera...

    anyway...:) Here!

    Holy Sh..!

    (worship)

    Those are sweet!!!!!!

I don't think I ever saw the cover to Sensation 5...

Sharon, do you collect the Wonder Woman series as well or just Sensation?

  6. This is one I didn't want to show at first simply beacuse it's taken from Dale Keown's work on Hulk 367, but then I noticed other "cover based"

work being shown. What the heck, it's not like I'm making money off of it.

Notice how all my work starts from the left before I quit? Must be a "right side of the brain" malfunction. I have an instructional book dealing

    with that specific problem.

Maybe I should read it. hm I really want to finish this one.

    Beautiful!

Nice mashups too and I like the 'Elephant Man'... :applause:

  7. Thanks!

And I just ran across this in some old boxes... from almost 25 years ago.

I think it was 1987 or 1988 (It was before the 1st Batman movie) we had this assignment to draw a 2 page parody of whatever comic related thing we chose.

I wanted to do a parody of the Batman TV series and I thought that Jack Nicholson would've been great to play the Joker.

(This ended up happening anyway! :D )

So I came up with this relatively crude piece...
