And I can't wait to see the PL23!

That's awesome Matthew!
I really like the change-up from the city scape to the grave yard!
-
I love the newest additions to this group!
I'm getting closer...

Am I missing something on the book...looks better than a 3.0 IMO.
A 1/4" triangle cut from the bottom left bc.
Although, I like that the book is centered nicely with the foot not cut off...

Thanks Dave...

Finally back in the (low-grade) club.
In a somewhat backwards manner, over the summer I sold my 3.5 cr/ow and picked up this 3.0 ow...
Selling price and cost turned out to be a wash.

Nice job on the Horrific 1, Matthew!
Did I miss the post for the Bats 227?
(Edit... the pic wasn't showing but it is now. Nicely done!
)

I thought I would share this work from my daughter, Sam. She's 12.

That's REALLY good!
Keep encouraging her!

I think that's a great idea to have each of us pick a color to post in... we can get a Green Lantern vibe going!
Who will post in orange?
Red?
Anyways, this thread is weird...

Recent pickup.
Guardineer...
Nice looking copy!!!

Dave... those sketch pages reminded me of this Syracuse native!

Here are a couple recreations taken from Cap and FF covers. I haven't used pens in many many years.
It'll take some more practice to keep my hand steady and reduce the need for such bold lines.
I actually like the extra bold look to both drawings!

It looks really nice to me but a little difficult to tell with the cropped scan.
If you could rescan it with a back cover too and leave a good 1/4" or so on all sides, I'm sure we could all give a better opinion.
Also, how much of the spine is split on the top and bottom?
I'd be curious to hear how it was listed or described on craigslist...

Great stuff Mike!
And the #23 you posted in the J-thread is fantastic!
-
As Dice said...
I had the one with the 3 rockets on the hand and the swords... as well as the Godzilla with the tongue and fist!
(That didn't sound good, did it?
)

Thanks...
(Still love looking at that 35 though!
)
I think it was Bat-Man who stated somewhere that the Tec 35 "gets the job done!"
So true...
And besides, it's just such a great cover!
-
That's awesome and congrats!
I saw that book a couple months ago in the preview and thought that it might go for a couple thousand... that's how much I know!
So instead I went for something more in my price range and FINALLY picked up a nice looking copy of this book (I don't mind the resto)...
One of my favorite Robinson Tec covers!

I lowered my minimum 4.0 standard for this book seems it has a nice eye appeal.
VERY nice looking book Mike!
Just a beautiful classic cover...

Yes the grade is accurate. The front and interior is 9.0 and above unrestored. How it ever lost just the back cover and nothing else was damaged is wierd. All of the problems is that a low quality back cover was used for the marriage. Of course 9.0 back covers would be in high demand. It would be like one of our esteemed board members like Gator or Bob getting married to a high school drop out on drugs.
I have shown the book to a couple of people and they think if I am willing to go Mp that it would get a 8.0+ grade. For now I will be happy looking at my 9.0+ front cover and enjoying the book. I took a gamble buying it and it paid off from my perspective.
It is a beautiful book and the spine looks terrific from the front!
-
Do you feel like the Apparent grade of 4.5 is accurate?
-
... Wow!
I guess I don't quite understand this grade!
That (SP) 4.5 FC looks stunning!!!
If an 'Apparent' grade is given for what the book 'looks' like how is that only a 4.5?
Is the BC that bad?
I understand it's a married BC but the spine splits were sealed to the cover to make it seems as if it's a complete book.
I get so confused by these grades sometimes...
