    Posted these over in CG already, but figured I'd better drop in here. Had an epic and unexpected haul this weekend. First I hit up a second hand book/music shop in a small town and found a smattering of AH books (along with a bunch of other stuff). But the BIG haul came at a Peddler's Mall in an even smaller town, where I usually stop when I'm passing through. I pretty much never find anything there, except once I found a NM98 for cover price, so I keep stopping by. At any rate, stopped by there again this past Sunday and found they have a new vendor set up. In addition to getting a massive chunk of NM+ Batman newsstands, I also got all of these gorgeous AH books for less than cover price. Bought everything he had at $2 each, and they are super sharp, each one a slam dunk 9.6 and potential 9.8. Didn't find anything that I don't already have in my collection, but I'm always happy to add to the hoard. And I think several of these CW books are upgrades for me. At any rate, keep digging fellas, the deals are still out there! (Sorry for the crappy pics)

    Told most of this story down in the Garage Sale/Flea market thread, but here are some better scans. Left town to avoid Derby this weekend, ended up running into a FCBD 50% off sale at a second hand music/book shop (that only recently started carrying comics) and a Peddler's Mall that was stocked to the brim with high grade Batman newsstands and Adam Hughes books, all for less than cover price! Here's some of the nicer stuff. Those Jim Lee Bats and Wolvie's look like solid 9.6/9.8's to me, which in the case of the bats is super nice for newsstand copies. Couldn't believe I found all of this stuff at a Peddler's Mall. I usually can't find anything in those places that I'd take for free!

    Had a fun weekend, spent way too much money. As I live in Louisville, the weekend of the Kentucky Derby turns the city into a madhouse, so we generally get out of dodge. I hadn't planned on doing much buying this weekend, but it seems like the deals found me. First up, a stop at Half Price Books yielded this brand spankin' new Hot Toys Civil War Cap for only $150, plus a 10% off coupon. I sorta stopped buying HT Marvel figures (there's just too many of them) but at that price I couldn't pass him up. Next up, I stopped by a second book/music shop with the intention of buying a used PS2 controller. It had been several months (or more) since I'd been in town, and the last time I was at this particular shop, they didn't have much in the way of comics. So imagine my surprise when I found that not only did they have new and used comics, but it was also Free Comic Book Day, so all back issues were half off! Picked up some super sharp copies of Wolverine #1 (should be slam dunk 9.8's) as well as a bunch of random stuff for my collection, including some super nice Wolvie newsstands, some Image newsstands filler issues etc. Went in planning to spend about $15 on a controller, walked out with $200+ of comics. HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN? But the biggest surprise was saved for last: on the way home Sunday, we always pass through a very small town, an I'll usually pop in their peddler's mall. 99% of the time it's exactly what you'd expect: absolute garbage. But a couple of years ago I found a NM98 there for cover price, so I keep coming back. And I'm glad I did! I found that they have a comic vendor set up now, and I ended up spending about $300, which is the most I have ever spent in a Peddler's Mall, probably in my lifetime combined. Most of the cash went towards a huge stack of Batman newsstands in beautiful NM shape, as well as a massive run of Adam Hughes Catwoman books, all of these for less than cover price. This included a super sweet, probably 9.8 run of Jim Lee Batman Newsstands (I'll post better scans of these and the Wolvies over in the "This Week in Your Collection" thread) as well as random stuff like a very sharp complete set of John Byrne's Jack Kirby's Fourth World, and much more. I was gobsmacked. Also picked up a couple of random action figures. There's a lot more than what is shown here, but I'm now broke and quite pleased!
