  1. And here she is out of makeup, which I've always found much, much hotter. Redheads.
  2. Next up, the other gal of my childhood dreams, Elvira!
  3. Ok, I'll monopolize the thread for a while with my . 25 or so years of attending every nearby (and some not so near) sci-fi, horror, comic, and general nerd convention, has left me with a lot of this stuff. This is all I could find on my phone. I know I have tons more at home, I'll have to do some digging. It may be fun for you, and depressing for me, to chart my weight gain and beard-greying through the years! I don't normally go for the posed "photo op" pics because they cost a fortune, and you're only there for, literally, 10 seconds, as they herd you through like cattle, snap your pic, and move you along your way. It's very impersonal and expensive. I tend to enjoy getting a selfie or something at the booth of the celeb, as it's more of a personal interaction, and generally much cheaper as well, if not free. That being said, these first three were ops I couldn't pass up. First up, our Princess, Carrie Fisher. As I walked up, she saw my shirt and exclaimed "Tom Waits! I love him!" For as much of an impression as one can get in a 10 second interaction, she seemed genuinely caring and fun and everything you could hope for. I look really stoned.
  4. Great thread! I'll throw some pics up here in a bit...
  5. Thanks again! Ok everyone, as expected I had a very busy night last night, so I didn't get anything else scanned. But as stated and planned, tonight is wide open, so I will be here tomorrow morning, probably around 8:30 - 9 EST, with another round of books. Thanks again everyone for looking!
  6. Va va voom. Like I said, not even close.
  7. Assuming the stuff is in decent shape (not coverless, water damaged, bug-eaten) I'll usually pay about 10-11 cents per book, or $25-$30 per longbox.
  8. I think that, unless you were one of the lucky ones who got in on the ground floor, pretty much everyone in this hobby is going to throw away a lot of money before they figure it out. Whether it's due to nostalgia or just plain inexperience, you're probably going to overpay, perhaps grossly. Just part of the learning curve.
  9. This whole thread just makes me anxious. Morgan, if you haven't already, get your CASH back, all of it, and run to the hills. Do not deal with these folks anymore. If you want real advise and direction on where to buy some nice Batman original art, these very same boards will steer you in the right direction. Avoid prints, lithographs, posters etc unless they're dirt cheap and you just like the look of them. For the kind of money you're throwing around, you should have some REAL art. Good luck!
  10. I love it and think it's a terrific idea. Terrific use of space. The display makes it much more likely that you (or your guests) will thumb through and enjoy your collection regularly, whereas an iToya may rarely get pulled off of the shelf. Perfect compromise if you don't have a lot of wall space. I may do this myself one day!
  11. I haven't seen the show, but comic wise, yes, Cheryl Blossom over both, and it's not even close! I've had the redhead sickness most of my life, though.
  12. It's an all time classic, nice job! Pulled a probably 9.6/possible 9.8 out of a sale box last month. I rarely see this one.
  13. Image newsstands are a lot of fun to collect. They're tough enough to find to be challenging, but usually cheap enough (because they're usually tossed in with other Image drek) that they're generally not expensive to chase. I pick them up in nice shape anytime I see them, and yet I still don't have that many.
  14. Same here. Have pulled three copies of 60 out of 50 cent/$1 bins in the last year or so, never found a 58.
  15. George is just a super guy. Relieved to hear he's doing better.
  16. That'd be my choice. I don't like Ronnie's attitude, but I don't go for blondes either.
  17. As I get older, it gets easier to start selling, and once you break the ice on selling, it's much easier to KEEP selling. That is how I was able to narrow my focus. Of course, it also helps that I mostly collect super cheap books.
  18. And unfortunately that's all I have this morning for you. Lots and lots of stuff still to come, so keep building those stacks and stay tuned. I may have a dollop of stuff for you tomorrow, and I will most definitely have a big stack coming Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Thanks for looking!
