  1. According to Dan, they were actually going to drive over there, pick the book up in person and finalize the deal on Saturday. DRX Which would you prefer? Payment by electronic means that's guaranteed all at once. Or would you rather wait for some stranger who may or may not show up with his friend at your door step after a four-hour drive? And if they do show up, wouldn't you be concerned about the possibility of being beaten up and robbed? The logistics for setting this up is a pain compared to the ease of a quick electronic payment. No? It doesn't matter what one prefers, what matters is what was agreed!
  2. IMO Thats hall of shame stuff he did. No excuse for what he did. Once you are on the hall of shame there is no coming off. possibly getting another Tec' 37 for him Good point, but what are the odds of that? probably the same odds that yannis will come off the prob. list Seller would just have to make peace with the buyer, that could be financial recompense or a great discount on another book or access to a Tec 37 etc etc, as long as the buyer would be happy in the end.
  3. Isn't that you just being late to the party again?
  4. Why did he say the book was more damaged than he thought? I believe the book cgc'd a .5 vs the 2.5 he stated, though that might be a diff tec 37 he is talking about It was never a 2.5 to begin with I thought in one of matt's first posts, he said it was sold to him as a 2.5 You're right, just another case of a raw book being overgraded Didn't you at one point own this book too? Rick may have, not me, I sold my 2.5 still in its slab

  7. The seller said he had a personal P.M. with you, I assume to explain the situation. Mind telling us what the explaination was. Alot of boardies would like to hear it I'm sure. DRX It was just that he thought i would not pay after the deposit ( well i dont give $500 to just anybody but...) I had the money within a few days of the deposit well befor batman said he bought the book so yes i got screwed. can you copy and paste the pm?
  8. I would say so, yes. The problem with this scenario is that the buyer has the ability to correct the situation and thus be removed from the probation list. By actually moving forward and buying said book. In this situation the seller would have to make the situation right. How would he or she go about doing that? Offer the buyer a monetary recompense? Buy the book back from the actual person that bought the book from under Matt? Pretty easy to resolve the first - not so for the second. We are assuming a lot without hearing from all parties. If it is indeed the buyer who had two copies in his signature, he posted on a GA thread that he actually had 3 copies, perhaps he'd be honorable and sell one of them to the person who got left out. I know if I did something innocently, that's what I would do...and we DO need to hear from the seller. Hopefully, there is a reasonable explanation. However, if there is not, then unfortunately I think this is a probation thread offense, the same way it would be if a buyer found a book for less and backed out of time payments. To get off the probation list, he'd have to find another acceptable book for the buyer. I hope you're not talking about me, I posted that I've had 3 copies of Tec 37 in the last year, but I've nothing to do with this, and I wish to be allowed to have my turn with the pitchforks and baying for blood Errr....no...it was not you...definitely not you. There was a REASON I didn't post on THAT thread, Can we wear purple, instead of black when we have the pitchforks? Purple

  10. To be fair, it has been really quiet on the boards till Frankie and his shenanigans then Trey and now this
  11. would really like to hear who the seller is (remember, I believe someone in origin stated this was a well thought of, reputable boardie, right?...seems out of character based on that general description, but anything is possible) and what the sellers POV was? until then, I personally will refrain from any speculation and damnation (though it might be coming if warranted!), and I simply encouraged others to do the same If it's the seller we are all assuming, I'm not sure the reputation is exactly as pure as the driven snow like yours Jim but then why would the seller take less money? I can see the logic in selling to a gazumper (although i would never condone such behaviour), but for less money
  12. if you name the seller before/if he posts, could you post PM conversations as well But I agree it does seem odd
  13. I agree on this case, we need the seller's version of events
  14. Check the kudos thread Wow, you do have a short memory Trey's cool. He messed up, took his lumps and came back and rebuilt his rep. That's worth a fresh start in my books. (thumbs u I'm betting he has the car too. I could be wrong but at this point it's what my gut says. Morning Roy, Yes Trey has a $116K car, he keeps it next to his comic shop he runs with his brother. As for taking his lumps, being found out by boardies, who even visited the comic shop in question where they found the book he was trying to sell as his on the boards, it's easy to say after that he made a mistake. Trey is a bumbling simpleton but to believe he also has a $116K car is priceless.
  15. EBAY OR WONDERCON Hey Andre, what happened to your comment on Trey Baiting? btw enjoying the Tec 30?
  16. Oh wait, Frankie never received any money either, we can close this thread because no money was exchanged. Next you'll tell me you have a $116,000 car in your garage someone sure is supporting the claim that there is people on here that just like to stir fecal matter. Well take a big whiff cause you just went back on ignore

  18. Just a $500 difference, that's all even with a $500.00 difference Is it not possible that who ever bought or buys the book may believe it to be higher OR lower than the CGC grade of 8.5? I mean come on how many of us have bought a PGX book cracked it out and submitted it to CGC and a different grade higher or lower comes back. Just using that to make a point that grading is very subjuctive and if you asked 20 different people to look at the book in hand I would say you would get a range of 8.0-9.2. I understand that there is a big difference in price. However, if the buyer or potenial buyer agrees with the grade the Dr gave it and is completely happy . Is there anything wrong with that? Its a totally different situation if he sells it as a 9.2 and the buyer is unhappy and wants to return the book. As long as the Dr. refunds the money or adjusts the price accordingly then that would be ok as well IMHO You obviously haven't read the thread, the book was sold as a CGC 8.5 in less then a month an attempt was made to sell this book as a raw 9.2, no mention of the history, the seller then states that neither of these books were the same
  19. How come after your lengthy (poorly written) response, the only thing you've done is post a few gifs and funny faces? Nothing else to say about the matter? I stand on the fence with this and actually hope for you to clear this up as you seem like a cool guy and all that - however it's clearly the same book. I mean your passionate response was...we'll... dishonest... am I wrong? Are we wrong? I'm glad I wasn't the only person that noticed this. I think he has backed himself into a corner with his argument and has nowhere to go
