  1. Bill Thanks! Yes got lucky after looking for a long time. Now if I can just knock off 1 or 2 of the big 10 every 7 years I might finish the set in 2036!
  2. Found this Sgt. Fury 35¢ variant that languished on eBay for a week before I plucked it earlier this year. I paid $2, did I overpay?
  3. Wow great sale. Yeah, truly! A record, Canickus? When will the rest of the run catch up Yes, a record. FlyingDonut's book was a nice looking book. $300 to $600 has been the range for nice copies for a long time but really nice copies like FDs book trade so infrequently it is hard to pin down. GPA only has the one listing in 2008 for the one 9.0 that sold for $355. There are more variant collectors now than seven years ago so the price is "in the range" as far as I can tell. It is still one of the keys to the series. I sold mine privately earlier this year for about $1600.
  4. Clint was great to deal with. He purchased a Marvel Spotlight #6 CGC 9.6 (Ghost Rider) from me, fast payment and great communication. A very smooth and easy transaction, I would Highly Recommend!! (thumbs u (thumbs u
  5. Great Club, I have Marvel Feature (Red Sonja) #4 & #5 30 Cent Variants in my sales thread. Anyone interested let me know. Thanks for looking. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Board=78&Number=8573525&Searchpage=1&Main=377361&Words=&topic=0&Search=true#Post8573525
  6. Thanks I appreciate it, you are as well as I'm sure he is. I just wish he contacted me first or waited until he got everything back. Believe me it's not what I wanted, it was a nice book. Unfortunately it got damaged along the way. He said he insured it, so I hope he did and after he's done filming hopefully he's fully compensated by the USPS.
  7. If that bend is legit, you must acquit! It's a shame too because I wanted that book. Next time you could have just messaged me through eBay and asked if I took any pics. of the damage and waited until you actually got everything back instead of letting your mind drift and drawing conclusions based on nothing.
  8. Frank, That would be me. You haven't posted in what, about a year. I don't know why you would feel the need to come on here and try to blast me or anyone without waiting to receive the book and your packaging back to see the bend in your bomb proof packaging for yourself before you went into full panic mode, Unless you are totally insane! Patience! The cardboard you placed the book between wasn't totally flat, they had what looks like bends in them already when you put the book between them. So I don't know if the priority flat envelope folded naturally with the bended cardboard. When you get the books and packaging back you will clearly see that. So Yes, post the video of you opening it with your video camera, I need a laugh I would love to see it. Also, in regards to my account, it wasn't suspended, I just haven't bought much on eBay in the last few months. I'm allowed to do that right? You know, you buy under what name, thesilveratom and sell under comichunters? You can come on here and inquire all you want but I would think as a eBay Seller of what, a decade or more you would at least wait until you receive your book and the packaging back before doing so. It's good to know you are a True Professional and this is a first for you, you haven't had a return ever? Also, I've bought from you before, multiple times actually, I found an email that I won a Marvel Tales 35 Cent Variant for over $200, I paid and everything. Sometimes, packages do get damaged, you know they go through multiple locations, right? And it wasn't my postman shoving it in my mailbox, would you like me to go outside in the Snowy Freezing Cold and take a picture of my olympic-size mailbox? This is just ridiculous! JT
  9. I sold John a book with No problems. He was very easy to deal with and along with great communication the payment was lightning quick. I would definitely do future business and I Highly Recommend! (thumbs u
  10. Very Nice!!! I'll look for it in one of your sales threads, right?
  11. Unless you are clueless, does the Overstreet really matter on the price variants? Also, why would you want them to adjust to the market, better deals for us. For example that nice Yellow book you plucked (thumbs u
  12. Wes, Thanks for a perfect transaction. I sold a book to Wes, great communication and payment was lightning quick. I would definitely do business again and I Highly Recommend! 2 (thumbs u (thumbs u
  13. I sold Andy a couple books and the transaction was perfect. Great communication, awesome to deal with and I Highly Recommend! (thumbs u
  14. I've seen two graded for many years, I think the 7.0 was listed on the census as non-variant so they must have updated the list.
  15. Two gun Kid #129 - someone pulled the plug on the auction Sounds like a good deal (thumbs u That book is hard to find. Maybe, bottom right looked a little chewed up. I was going to bid if the auction played out but it wasn't me.
  16. It appears the seller abruptly ended the auction and then relisted the book with a BIN or B/O for $225, which is what the book shows it sold for.
  17. Is this a 3rd print 9.8 graded as a 1st print priced to move? TMNT 1 9.8
  18. Nice, I was wondering who grabbed that for a Grand off the bay.
  19. Here are the different Star Wars #3 35 cent variations. Which one is it? Pics. courtesy of bipcomics.com A - B - C -
  20. Don't know who got it but it's gone. I asked him to relist it if he still had it but he doesn't. He took $800 for it. I saw the book had bids on it and I was surprised he ended it. I had made him an offer on a book he listed at auction a couple of years ago that had no bids and he told me then he doesn't end auctions early because it upsets some of his regulars and he wants to keep up auctions for the whole time. 2 years later, his response in regards to this book he told me he never ends auctions early but he took the 800 on this book because he thought that was too high for anyone to bite and he didn't realize the sudden increase in price for the book. Don't really know what to say to that. He has 18K feedback and has sold price variants in the past, the book is rare, which he must know, it got a bunch of bids in the 1st couple of hours of the start of the auction and then a high offer comes in. I guess not enough indicators the book was going to do well.
  21. Always nice to read about like-minded comics enthusiasts getting into the core of things. Maybe someone can compile a collection of such informative topics into a fanzine, or maybe incorporate it into a regular feature in one of the backissue mags like Alter Ego or Backissue. Keep up the great discussion, guys! Just reading makes me feel as if i'm transported back in time to the swinging 70s! The whole idea of this is so weird...any similar things in any other 35 cent variants?!? The only other one I can think of is the Captain America #212 with the missing banner, the thing is the 35 cent variant has it with and without the banner so the error got fixed even before they could print the whole 35 cent variant run so they cought it pretty quick, and I have never seen a 30 cent one with this error. Another interesting book I discovered is the Amazing Spider-Man #174 if you look at the fat diamond ones you will notice that the P in the tital SPIDER-MAN has no color blue behind it, this error is also present in some of the regular editions so they fixed this error sometime during the regular print run. So this leads me to also believe that the Fat Diamond "Whitman/Direct Market" books were also printed before the regular editions. What do you think? The #212 35 Cent Variant No Banner, , just let me know your asking price. Do you have Sgt. Fury #141 & #142 35 cent variant, extras of course?
