Or are there just a few that are graded?
Being Some of Alan's earliest & many would argue ''best'' work I'm surprised how few of the Swamp books are graded 9.8 compared to Watchmen and even Miracleman. So what's the history of this book? Was it a low print run series? Low quality paper? Or are there a bunch of these issues simply being hoarded by a few? And yes I know Alan only did #20-64 (I believe Rick Veitch did one or two of the latter issues in that run)

It's the First appearance of Tim Vigil's Faust. If not for that I would not even bother looking for it.what is special about the book besides a low print run?do people want to pay up for the Vigil artwork and/or is the story extra special?
-
I sorta figured that, but I just showed this just as a example of the prices I've seen this book offered for.Sam, all I know is DON'T order a book from mycomicshop that you hope to be high-grade condition unless it is in a CGC case. Their grading is horrible unless a few rules are in place with a listing, and at this point I don't want to even bother remembering what those were. -
From what I have found this is one Tough as Hell book to find in any grade!
And imagine my surprise when I found this on ebay and for how much.
Now what was the print run of this book?
Was this a convention exclusive book or was it also available for comic shops?
Is this issue in high demand or is it just the rarity that makes this book command such prices?

It's called ''SARCASM''Who/What do you want to blame if this book dose not sell for a $1'000? Surely we can't blame low interest on the book?.Is this a real question? After everything that's been discussed, is this a question that really needs to be asked? REALLY?

$585.43 is what it sold for.

WOW! Still at $556.00. Maybe it will shot up at the last minute.
-
Sorry, but I'm buying other books from fellow Bordie's at the moment. PLUS several books on the CLINK auctions.
My first 2010 temptation. Must have willpower, not to reward amateur selling .less then 1 hour to go and it's at $556.00.Good Lord that's cheap.
Imagine the bids if he put up proper pictures, answered interested party's questions, and generally took even the most modest of interest in anyone's concerns.
Help us Mr. 9.8, your our only hope.

This is what I've been waiting for!!
When this becomes available I'll pre-order two of them!

You wanna really make me laugh?
Somebody win that book for $100 and then the folks that were originally going to bid $1K can send kind notes letting the seller know why they just missed out on a tremendous sale.
What a sad person for not even bothering to respond.

That's why I ain't letting go of the artwork. (thumbs u

I personally would sit on these books until Stephen Norrington(Blade) reboots this franchise in a couple of years.

FRAK ME!
I didn't think this issue would be that much with 5 days still to go.

Was GRIPS the first comic at the time pushing the violence envelope?I haven't purchased one in ages but I remember my old Overpriced Street Guide use to have an "(extreme violence)" notation next to the Grips listing.
