  1. Can't believe this book isn't more popular. First red/gold suit.
  2. Edit: This has a detached cover as well as other issues so don't be so hard on CGC Before clean/press:
  3. Starting my ASM 1-10 run. May take some time but I am not in a rush, not a huge one anyway. Here's the first one, picked up today via trade. AF-15 already in collection so now on to #1-3, 5-10.
  4. No, you can buy the frames from Coinzcomics.com; sometimes the CGC frames are only on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08F7JMGBD?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details They go out of stock a lot though so buy them if you see them in stock.
  5. Here's that $455 CGC 9.8 SDCC/Wizard File Copy. You will see this for sale again when my wife/kids sell my stuff after death!
  6. If you are willing to pay the fees to get it re-graded, I say go with a presser who can help retain your yellow label and address the staining; however dry cleaning may not get that all out. Even if the grade doesn’t get bumped, clean/press may improve the appearance of the book. With that Stan Lee autograph, I’d want the book looking as best as possible.
  7. That $455 CGC 9.8 SDCC/File copy was me. Coming in mail today, will post. Sorry to throw the curve off but had to snipe it.
  8. Got these in from CGC today. Was hoping for higher grades after clean and press but after seeing them in person, yeah, they're 9.4's.
  9. First time using CCS (aka CGC). Wanted to see how their cleaning/pressing is looking nowadays.
  10. Here's my theory: seller buys 9.8 copy of newsstand, then seller buys a 9.4-9.6 newsstand copy of the book with MJ insert. Seller cracks 9.8 open enough to cause "mechanical error damage" enough to warrant re-holder but not cause enough suspicion of foul play; seller then inserts lower grade newsie with MJ into 9.8 case and asks for custom label as well. Whenever you get a custom label, I know it goes through a slightly different process because they always separate the shipping between standard blue labels and custom labels. Maybe this is a loophole being abused that has reduced QC checks for fraud. To the person re-holdering, looks like a damaged slab with the same book in it because the inner well looks intact. So the lower grade copy skips a grading QC check and just gets put into a new slab with a custom label with the MJ insert verbiage since they can see the insert without removing the book completely. Easy fix: require all reholder requests asking for a MJ insert update go through a regrading process to ensure accuracy and that the grade matches the condition of the book. Would that suck for the honest customer? Yes. But it is for the greater good.
  11. Picked these up this year. .5 was off a random Whatnot sale.
  12. Picked this up earlier in the year at SDCC. Punisher was the first character I was exposed to when I was a kid, got me into comics. Very special moment for me to get this. Will probably upgrade later in life but I am happy with this copy for sure.
