  1. For Justice, Ross only did the finished art on top of Doug Braithwaite, so let's blame him if some of it wasn't "Ross" enough for you.
  2. I am falling ridiculously behind some of you guys! Need to step it up. 35-36: Legends 5-6 (DC Limited '86) 37-44: Secret Wars 2-9 (Marvel Limited '15) Legends was still fun for me all these many years later. Wonder Woman was rebooted for this before the '87 Perez series. Also got to see the origin of the Suicide Squad and mini reboots for Shazam and Flash after Crisis on Infinite Earths. This is the kind of stuff that had me hooked in the 80s, and I guess I never outgrew it. Finished Secret Wars and it was a disappointment for me. After the first issue, it showed real promise. Doom has created a new Battleworld in the aftermath of worlds/multiverses colliding. It was cool seeing all the familiar faces in their new roles on this world and some really epic places were hinted at early that I looked forward to exploring. The problem was that we never got to explore them. This felt rushed and needed to be twice as long. The ending was unsatisfying and anticlimactic. Some really interesting ideas were explored so I'm not saying it was terrible, but I wanted more, not less. The Marvel Zombies were there and we barely noticed. Oh well.
  3. I missed the first one, and want to buy a pile of raw stuff while also feeling that I am "winning" the thread.
  4. I'm in the process of finally putting my personal collection into Excel so I know WTF I actually have.
  5. You're on a 3K+ pace. Slow down and stop embarrassing us!
  6. 28-29: Moon Knight 8-9 (Marvel '80) 30-33: Legends 1-4 (DC Limited '86) 34: Secret Wars 1 (Marvel Limited '15) Ok, Moon Knight is becoming more like the 2nd series I first remember reading from '85. Now they are using the word schizophrenic, and made a point of describing Marc's dependency on his Khonshu statue and how he believes it makes him stronger. This is the first time this has been emphasized and makes for a more mysterious, mystical story, and less like a Batman clone. A couple villains have returned also. Reading Legends again for the first time since the 80s. Remember loving it as a Byrne obsessed kid, and it's holding up pretty well after all these years. The story and dialogue are ok, and the art shines. Byrne gets to draw a bunch of the DC universe, including the intro of the Suicide Squad. Darkseid decides he wants to eliminate Earth's Legends and tries to turn the public against super-heroes. Reminds me a lot about our current political climate here in the USA. Never read Secret Wars from 2015, so thought I'd give it a try. This time, multiple Earth's from the Marvel universe are colliding and heroes from each are battling it out to ensure that their world survives. The first issue was just OK for me. Isn't Hickman supposed to be some amazing writer? Didn't help that Ribic's "modern" art style doesn't appeal to me. Wow, I miss the art of my childhood. I guess we all do.
  7. Guess you could say I'm in the "Pole Position" for 227 hoarding?
