That's what I kept forgetting to post! I got mine earlier today and meant to say something in here. I mean, the confirmation, I didn't get the book yet. Glad we're all getting them!

Enjoy the pain pills, Doug.

Chainnball - excellent score on that original #1 and the cards - that is sweet.

Probably shouldn't have posted that, I'm acting like I'm in the WDC

What is this Cursed Pirate Girl you are referring to?
I believe some people I am somewhat acquainted with were supposed to sell me a copy from the books they purchased in Chicago, but alas, the only memory and lingering souvenir I have from the event is a sharp, persistent pain in my rectal area.
Getting screwed will do that to you - or so I've heard.

Hmm...could Walking Dead survive if Rick were killed?
i'm sure it could, at least to some degree, but it would be akin to taking kobe off the lakers. sure, it'd still be good, but it'd be missing that spark. rick is the most developed character, of course he's also the main character and leader, and also maybe the only real developed character. michonne is, to me, the next best character, but she's too mysterious. carl is too hot headed, young, and occasionally unlikable, to lead the book. abraham is great, but only as a second fiddle (no offense).
I think you're spot on with this.

By far, the most depressing and relentless down story ever in comics. There is no break in the pain and suffering. There isn't a hint of anything other than sadness, violence and death.
Sounds like something I should be reading.

I will - but I don't want to read the last 2 just yet. I'm enjoying just looking at them.

Well, today was a grand day.
Look what came in the mail - and notice that pretty little sig on the bottom right:
So now I have a complete set of 3 and I am on

Jerel- so glad you had a chance to read and enjoy the books. I love hearing everyone's thoughts. I will be sharing more of my own thoughts after I get the chance to read issue 2 and 3 - I'm still waiting on my copy of #2.

Also, I don't know about this "team" business, guys. Not digging it. Don't force me to choose!
You're the best!
Team Kathryn!

Wow guys...
I take a little day trip with the fam and everything gets a little nutty, huh?
I don't have much to add, but thank you to everyone who has contributed something meaningful here. I am just a fairly uninformed CPG fan who was hoping to see what others think of the book, and this thread has unearthed a lot of helpful info. And knowledge is always a good thing.
So, dare I say...keep it coming?

Wow. Why are you doing this to me?!?
That is amazing. I think I'll send you my mailing addy in case you get drunk and, in an act of good will, decide to send me one.
That just might happen.
Well, it's the weekend too, so maybe my chances will increase....
Seriously, thanks for sharing the pics. I was also under the impression that there were only 4 or 5 of those, it's good to know.

Awesome, Julio. I'm jealous!
Not done yet...
How about this collection?
Yes, my dear. Those are all "error no logo variants".

I think this may be a new high for a raw copy - at least it's the highest I've seen:
-
booty-licious...
show your hordes!
What is that? The entire print run?
No kidding, that's an amazing collection there!
-
This is actually a pretty great thread!
I dig it.
-
Did anyone answer the variant ratio question for #75?
Not that I recall, Jeff.
-
Steve - just another thanks for posting the Dead Planet pitch. Very cool, I have never seen it either.

Way overdue kudos for all of the following folks!!
Kathryn for putting up with my slow shipping
You goofball! KUDOS to you for going out of your way to send me freebies!
Mark is one of the best to deal with around here, and I don't say that lightly. I don't like most people.

apparently there are self published versions of these books from 2005/6 but were only printed in the low 100's. The ones out last year are first prints from the publisher.
Thank you very much for that info, I appreciate it!

well now i am interested. anyone have some HG copies of the first 3 issues at a reasonable price?
You can find issue 3 and the reprint for issue 2 at cover prices at the publisher's site, Olympian. You can sometimes even find them on ebay for cover price. As far as issue one goes, you can find a copy on ebay right now, HG...
for $80
Or else wait until the reprint comes out.

Get those suckers out! It's fun! I had mine pulled a few years ago. All of my siblings had theirs done under anesthesia when they were young, so they put them under to cut them out. But since mine were in fully and I was an adult, I was awake for it - they just did the novocaine, and almost cracked my jaw open pulling them out.
Actually it's really not that bad. I was terrified, but as long as you're numbed up well, you can't feel a thing.
My husband had to have his pulled twice. He had the first set pulled at age 20 or so, and then another set grew in and had to come out about 10 yrs later. He had 2 sets of wisdom teeth grow in, it happens sometimes. It's weird.
