Metropolis sold a 8.5 late last year. Comics trades hands everyday, so this copy may have been the Nic Cage copy Metro sold. They're different copies. Doc Joe and Metropolis copy are different because Doc Joe copy is not centered. My presumption is...maybe the recent 8.5 from Metropolis was a 8.0 which got bump to a 8.5. Also, maybe the Nic Cage copy was bumped to a 9.0. Anything is possible, unless we have good scans to verify this. Anybody has a good scan of the Nic Cage copy? Additions to the last post I made. When the books was bumped the lower grade was taken off the census (old label returned to CGC) and a higher grade is achieve. This is just a theory and again anything is possible.

yes, the copy is raw, but if I grade it a 8.0, cgc will grade it at "least" an 8.0 (thumbs u Thanks, keep the club updated okay? I made my best and "final" offer, and I believe he would be foolish to turn it down, so keeping Score this copy and be part of the 6.0 high grade club!

Now, someone show me any other SA (key) census whereas you have only 7 copies > 7.5 and "zero..zilch...goose-eggo" > 9.0. Let's compare it to the other top two notable DC Silver Age: Brave and the Bold 28 has 18 copies above 7.5 and Showcase 4 has 12 copies above 7.5. Which makes SC 22 scarce in high grade. Who will be the first two score the 9.2 SC 22???

doesn´t really look like a 8.0 to me Some pretty heavy ticks/creases and a few stains/marks on the front and back cover. Looks decent but 8.0? How does it compare to the similar grades? You've got the wrong back cover. The airplane jet is the #22 BC image. Nice copy...appears to be a 6.5 to 7.0 from the scan. The back cover is not the SC 22 back cover. If you have a better scan and a back cover scan, I can give it a more accurate grade.

Both of the 9.0 have off-white pages, so both copies are tied as number one in quality. If we can get a scans of the front and back cover of both copy, we all can make a vote.

Congratulations for being a holder of two high grade copies. If all the collectors hold their high grade copies, supply will be very scarce and prices will need to rise until more supplies surface.

Rick, I have no problem telling the Boards that your 7.5 went for $10,500. And I hope you do not either. A well deserved fetch for a well deserved book. To me, it set a new 5 figure plateau for non-9.0 22s, and deservingly so. I love the book. Well done peewee and detective27kid!. That's a record price for a 7.5. I really think a 7.5 should have been selling at least nm guide before all the movie hype. Also, SC22 is an undervalue silver age DC key for quite some time and is finally being noticed by both collectors and in investors.

If the price is well perceived, more copies will surface. This books may be setting new record prices for almost every grade.

Welcome to the club. As I can see, it appears to be a 4.5 and possibly a 5.0. How is the back cover and is there any other hidden defects?
