Once you build your war chest, you can go for a much higher grade.

No I did not bid on it. Strong price. I don't think it sold. It's back up for sale with a Buy It Now of 28.5K The book has been up there for about two weeks. Silvercomics tends to auction the same books in their Ebay store an run the auction at the same time, even though they only have one. I guess if someone who lost the auction bid and did a buy it now in their Ebay store for the same item, it will cause some problems.

Me too. I love seeing those first previews of covers or characters. That would make a great thread here............. First time I saw a copy of Action 13 with that ad, I didn't buy it because the dealer pointed out that the book had the wrong interior (overstreet said the ad was in #14). What an honest dealer. Love that centerfold and if anyone has a spare...love to have one framed.

Are you suggesting that Action #13 should be worth more than Action #10 since 'Tec #31 is way ahead of 'Tec #35 when it comes to market value. Personally, I feel that Action #13 is still quite a bit undervalued (espcially in the guide) at only 45% in relationship to the guide value for Action #10. Does anybody have a more accurate idea as to what the relative market value should really be between these 2 hard-to-find books? In market assumption, Rick had mention Action 13 is more scarce than Action 10. I sense and Action 13 blue label has a shot at Detective 31 grade by grade. In the time being, worth more than Detective 31 due to the scarcity. Scarcity shmarcity! Tec 31 is infinitely more cool than Action 13 (thumbs u Some love for the early Action thread.

Action 1 Detective 29 Detective 31 Detective 35 Only one Action.

Action 7 seems to get a bit more spotlight than Detective 29. Who not to love these cool Actions and Tecs. Action 1 vs. Detective 27 Action 7 vs. Detective 29 Action 13 vs. Detective 31 Acton 10 vs. Detective 35

I really enjoy this book.

A pedigree boost and someone might have wanted it to go with their SC22-24 set. The last 24 in 7.5 sold for $1000 and 8.0 Savannah about $1800. Showcase 23 and 24 always readily available in 5.0 and under. On the other hand, SC23 has only appear in 7.5+ twice the last seven years if I recall.

So a detached/reattached cover? Should be interesting! Description:Action Comics #7 (DC, 1938) CGC FR 1.0 Off-white to white pages. While this auction is focused on Gary Dahlberg's original-owner "Twin Cities pedigree" collection for the most part, Mr. Dahlberg did pick up some secondhand gems in his day as well, most notably this copy of one of the hottest Golden Age books around! It's the second Superman cover ever, and tied with Detective #22 as the second superhero cover in the history of comics. Formerly somewhat under the radar, this book has rocketed into Overstreet's top 15 in just the past few years. While this copy is Fair for reasons clearly visible on our scan, we'll note that the last three copies of #7 we auctioned sold for 2-6 times Guide, and we expect strong interest in this one as well. CGC notes, "Moderate amount of tape on cover & interior." Overstreet 2010 GD 2.0 value = $6,060. CGC census 3/11: 1 in 1.0, 14 higher. From the Gary Dahlberg Collection. The raw 1.0 ish sold in late 2009 for over $9K..so it will be interesting to see the hammer price for this copy. Can't wait to see the scan.
