  1. Link? Glad you asked, as I mis-spoke, it was Heritage's auction. Sorry 'bout that. http://comics.ha.com/common/view_item.php?Sale_No=7033&Lot_No=91347 That copy has bright colors, great looking 4.0.
  2. New on the census to me. I wonder if this is the copy Rick sold over a year ago. That is a very soft 9.0 compared to the others. Look at that crease in the top left corner/edge. The spine dings are fine, but how does a book get a 9.0 with all of that top edge damage? That wear on the top left corner/edge as you mention is a bit much. Hard to say if one can only examine it like the Heritage scans. Wow, still no SC22 in 9.2 yet... I know people say it all the time but it really does seem that CGC has gotten softer at the upper tiers. 2 examples that just stuck out to me recently are the 9.4 X-Men 1 that Clink has up right now for auction. Also if you think this 9.0 Showcase 22 looks bad (and it does look bad with that wear at the ULFC) check out the Twin Cities Action 252 9.0. For my book not better then an 8.0. http://comics.ha.com/common/view_item.php?Sale_No=7033&Lot_No=91002 I agree on a personal grading basis, but since I have had plenty of similar books come back as 8.5 I would have put it there instead on a CGC basis. The damage along the top edge of that new 9.0 SC #22 looks the same as a couple of 7.5s I have owned in the past......... The Action 252 is a perfect example of a gift grade. The new SC22 9.0 has bright colors and decent centering but there is a printing defect on the right side green spot under the "comic code". Shall one say " a strong 8.5 in a 9.0 holder" on a good day.

  5. Amazing! It's not even a wrap, just a single non-superman page. Brittle at that. Your Action 1 wrap Mike is
  6. That pretty much covers it in my book They are the only 3 mega-keys coming to mind at the moment for DC silver age. (unless you want to count the first issues of the JLA, GL the Flash(105) as well...) SC 4 B&B 28 Adventure 247 SC 22 Flash 105 Showcase 17 B&B 34 Showcase 34 Showcase 9 Showcase 30 JLA 1 GL 1 OAW 81, 83 GI Combat 87 If you are talking big keys, then there are only 3 top tier SA DCs - B&B #28, SC #4 and SC #22. Otherwise, the list above is probably a good one to chase now before some of the 2nd and 3rd tier keys take off........... Well if you asked that same question 3+ years ago you would have likely only answered 1, Showcase 4. Then Showcase 22 and now BB 28 took off and have become "mega keys" for those who follow the pricing of the books, so no I don't believe that fixable list that's being mentioned as the big 3 is the be all end all like some have made it seem in this thread. In terms of value...then SC4, SC22, and BB28 is the top three SA DC. In comparison to their counterparts...AF15, FF1, Hulk 1. Think SC 22 is probably better compared to AF15 at this point but I get the comparisons. btw I enjoy looking at your sig line, very nice books and cool to see. Thanks! (thumbs u And you have so cool recreation and style art.
  7. Great collectibles in the rooms. Thanks for sharing.
  8. Top 3 is not the same as "only 3". To say there are only 3 mega-key or top tier SA DCs is just ludicrous. Not sure if you read my quote correctly. "In terms of value", not only three.
  9. Congrats! Nice and awesome PQ (less than ten CGC graded copies with ow/w pages). Green Lanterns says "Welcome to the the club." Why is everyone so high on PQ ? Nice book !!! I know only WP's will impress you more. But you don't see SC22 in ow/w often.

  12. GL #1 has definitely benefited from the movie hype. The funny thing about GL #1 is that the supply of 7.0+ copies that was there 2 - 3 years ago has dried up just like the other SA DC keys. I am beginning to wonder whether I should go ahead with my planned sale of my last copy (7.0) closer to the movie or hold on to it a bit longer. I say hold it longer...longer than me. I'm sure if the price is too good...bye bye to your GL1
  13. it is already worth more in some circles... It definitely is in my small circle......... I do think that the SC#22 is a huge DC silver age key, but the SC#4 books seem to be more scarce than the SC#22's. I have to admit...SC4 has been the laggard, but is picking up steam. Scarce in supply doesn't always quantify demand. Price point per grade recorded sales, SC4 is still the most valuable SA DC, followed by SC22 and BB28. Demand wise would be SC22 and close followed by BB28 and then SC4.
  14. Actually...with all these superheroes movies...yeah, top SA keys all have been doing quite well. This holds well for the whole SA market. Let's hope for the success of the GL movie and will lead to more DC movies. SA Key Marvels are much more plentiful than SA DC keys, so DC has the highest potential appreciation. A bunch of non-comic collectors I know saw the new trailer and are very excited to check it out. I would not under estimate the power the ring.
  15. Welcome to the boards. Green Lantern 1 has been rising along with SC22. SC22 is a bit more scarce than GL1. First appearance always command much more. A fair 1.0 GL1 is priced around $200-300, so that price is in line. Hold it for the long term for a potential gradual increase. As long as your happy with it...you win. (thumbs u
  16. Holy cow What a sale that was!! Definitely blew away my expectations bodes well for any other 4.0s out there Batter up: hurry up and hit the BIN on this DK so you can retire. http://www.comiclink.com/itemdetail.asp?back=%2Fitems%2Easp%3Fid%3D3855&id=884001 That's a great one. DK should try and get a 0% percent finance and take this puppy home.
  17. Okay. Still no TEC 27 5.5 photo. "Wow!" Detective Comics 35 CGC 4.0 $17800 *Sale pending*. http://www.comiclink.com/itemdetail.asp?back=%2Fsearch.asp%3Fwhere%3Dsell%26title%3Ddetective%2Bcomics%26x%3D20%26y%3D13%26ItemType%3DCB&id=883970
  18. Quality material always maintain it's luster. If one could afford to hang on to it, gradual appreciation. Glad I got my copy to go with my GL1 and SC22.
  19. Didn't it sell for $6K? So close to $7500 is what the seller needs.
  20. Yeah, see above. When I saw that had already been mentioned, I edited my post to show the LAPD database copy. I see that in the your general thread. (thumbs u I wonder what it might actually look like now and if there is a larger scan of that copy.
  21. I believe that's a small scan of the Kansas City copy, not the actual Cage copy. Since it was mention as a VF...at first glance. I would assume so by the image. Anyone has the actual image of the Cage copy?
  22. Another great GL! Makes me wanna unload some Spidey's for some nice GL series.
  23. The book in the article is the 8.0 Kansas copy. So that is not Cage's copy. Yep...good eye Tiger. (thumbs u
  24. From the link below: http://www.vcstar.com/photos/2011/apr/10/124397/ Looks like the Cage copy is a bit more miscut and less wear. The new ComicConnect is amazing even with a lt PQ.
  25. Looks like the $4500 sale on Clink is influencing the offers on the other two? FWIW, the comicconnect copy looks to be the nicer of the two so it will probably sell first. Well, the Comiclink 6.0 was priced to move and also has off-white pages as Bob-a-loo mention. Being the first well priced 6.0 and off-white PQ may have been the contributed to the 6.0 ow instant sale. A decent price for a nice eye appeal and PQ 6.0 is $4K. At $4K, there is not too much downside.
