  1. I find it silly, especially when describing the PQ of a slabbed book. Unless you crack it out, how will you ever know?
  2. Me too, considering I sold a CGC 9.6 of that book recently for less than his raw sold for. I'm thinking whoever bought that is really hoping it comes back a 9.8.
  3. Yup, I took your exact question and put it in Google. Has to do with the DC logo. Got it, thanks!
  4. Is there a way to tell the difference between a 1st and 2nd print of Batman #436 just from the front / back covers? Obviously I don't have the book in hand to check. Thanks in advance
  5. Does that affect eyesight? To be fair, I purchased a raw Hulk #449 from Divad on Ebay from one of his "grime" accounts ( I didn't know those were his at the time). He graded the book a 9.6. I subbed 5 copies of that book to CGC and I received 4 9.8's and 1 9.6 So his copy at the very least graded out what he said and could possibly have been one of the 9.8's.
  6. It's been hot for over a year. Wouldn't mind seeing a GPA breakdown of highs/lows over the past two. In Nov. one sold for $250 That's why I was confused. This book has been trending for a while now.
  7. Don't get out much? Nope. I'm too busy reading Groo to go out. We have something in common. I don't get out much and it's also one of the worst designs I've seen as far as comics go.
  8. Oh yeah. Groo is a mile better than most of the junk discussed in this thread. Your mistake is thinking that these guys actually read comics. If it isn't worth money, it's just "drek" to a lot of the people posting in threads like this. Reading and enjoying the contents of comic books is nerd stuff. You couldn't be more wrong. I read comics daily. Probably more than you. I grew up with Aragones in Mad magazine - I just don't particularly care for his work. And Oakman probably reads fives time the comics you do. I'll take " things I can never prove" for $100 Alex.

Though to be fair, there are plenty of flippers who still read and enjoy comic books.
  10. Bought and received a couple of sweet books from Frank's VCC booth. I'm very pleased with the entire transaction from start to finish. I would not hesitate to buy from him again. Thanks again! Casey
  11. Just got these back from the frame store. Secret Wars promo poster. It took me a long time to find one of these, especially in nice shape. Coke tie in poster. Was originally supposed to be a one-shot but ended up being two regular issues of the series ( FF #220-221 ). Being a big Byrne fan, this was a must have
  12. And here's the cure. Man, I liked that movie. I still love that movie
  13. No wonder I got a couple offers this morning on a She-Hulk slab.
  14. I'm subbing my nicest copy...which also happens to have a Mark Jewelers insert ..the rest are mine, so... So you're saying it won't be at a good price? The price is ain't happening.

  16. I think the cat 1 is the book to get...ff 66-67, Thor 165 vs. Marvel premiere 1 argument that has been going on here for a while now... The Cat is the book to get for what? The Cat is not Hellcat. Greer Grant is Tigra, OK, so if you like Tigra you have to keep both the Cat mini-series and the Giant Size Creatures. Aside from this, anyone still insisting on the relevance of Thor #165 (story wise) have just never read the stories (or deliberately want to ignore a 40+ years of comics history). A cool cover, whatever you want, but nothing more. The story is also inconsistent. It's the one to get regarding bronze age books that are heating up on eBay... Ah! – wasn’t the hype about Hellcat, or Patsy Walker for what matters? That's what I thought too, but it seems it's the first appearance of the costume that matters So the earliest Tarzan comic book is the one to get if they make a film about Ka-Zar? Hey, it’s the first time I enjoy a communion of sorts with Logan! Hopefully Avengers #144 heats up even more

  18. ...demand that is based on fluff, on smoke, on mirrors. There is nothing substantial beneath; there is nothing to the work on its own merits. "Why do you want this issue of Previews?" "Because it's the first appearance of Deadbloodkillsport!" "What is special about Deadpoolkillsport?" "He's cool!" "Why?" "What are you, a nutter? Look at him, he's got blades coming out of his armpits!!" "What does he do?" "I don't know...I've never read any of this stuff. Prolly fights bad guys, right?" "How do you know he's not a bad guy himself? I mean, with a name like Deadbloodkillsport, that doesn't sound very wholesome, does it?" "Aww, no one cares about that. He looks COOL!!" And when the ADD-driven madness moves on to something new, as it invariably does, the house of cards collapses, because it had no artistic value, in and of itself, in the first place. Some of you need to educate yourselves on why comic book characters occupy the place in pop culture that they do. Stuff it, I know what's kewl and why
  19. That's awesome, I have a sweet little mini stash of these
  20. Because of the return of the gray Hulk? I don't get it... NM - got it
  21. Received a really sweet Dreadstar #1 that's a keeper. Shipped quickly and packed well, would do business again without a second thought. Thanks again! Casey
