  1. I'm going: $36k for the 9.4 $23k for the 8.5
  2. Raphael in 9.8 has dipped a little over Jan/Feb from the highs of December. I think it has more to do with growing too fast than a loss of interest in the book. I see there are a few 9.8's on Ebay with varying BIN and Best offer. Any predictions where this book is going to go?
  3. ..and again...and again... Thanks for this. They will be popcorn moments for sure
  4. very cool! and the complete first wave of TMNT goodness!
  5. Vehemently disagree with this. Can we put it to consensus before changing anything on a long established set per the request of a new member with 2 posts. Thanks
  6. in 9.8 I think it already is... someone please put one up for sale so we can verify this....
  7. There are only 1000 of these so supply and demand should push these up. The HC version is limited to 500. while not part of the original oversize prints they recapture that magic in deluxe format 8 years later (1992). The quality of the paper is excellent in comparison and frankly I'm surprised more of them have not retained their minty fresh condition of at least 9.8. The Hardcover is signed but I am having a hard time remembering if they have sketches or not. will check later... There was an initial surge of interest around 2013/2014 and they were hot property. since then, maybe due to a lack of submissions, they haven't really taken off again. We need a CGC certified one go for sale to gauge the interest. I have seen them selling in raw vf condition for between $60 and $100 sometimes more. The copies I see always seem to have been beaten up tho...
  8. Yup me too...I'm always trying to imagine which box mine is in... You are an original owner...that's impressive, congrats. It took 20+ years before I was able to even see one first hand.
  9. The #2 yellow label 9.8 W had "From The Collection of Kevin Eastman" on the label too but went for lower than the blue label 9.8 OW/W. I realize there is much more appeal in a #1 but I'm having a hard time explaining the #2's...
  10. ...and just for fun here are all the #1 1st prints in one place: I love this photo. This is the beginning of everything TMNT.
  11. That's going to be quite something when it happens. @Icculus308win has the best of the best 9.8 copy IMO; it's blue label with sigs from the 80's and is white pages. I find the yellow label #1's just don't look as pristine (amazing as they are of course!!)
  12. it makes a #1 9.8 at $90,000 look like a steal...
  13. Donatello's final price ($720 in 9.8) was definitely a shocker but they have been far and few for the last 2 months, and the demand is there. The only surprise for me about Raphael ($5040 in 9.6) was that it has taken 35 years to get there, it is one of the original oversize issues after all. Michaelangelo ($600 in 9.8) was better than expected. Leonardo has always trailed Raphael but been ahead of the other 2 ($506 in 9.6)
  14. Just to add a note in regards to the #3 variant... I would say it's safe to assume most of the interior signatures were done at the NYCC in 1985. It would be hard to pinpoint any other issue getting signed at a particular event.
  15. I think that’s market price right now. These books are scarce in high grade which is fanning the 🔥
  16. Some big surprises tonight! the yellow 9.0 outdid a blue 9.4 #1 by $10k the blue #2 outdid the yellow #2 by $700 the 5th print is crazy...no clue that was going to happen...I think I gave away a NM+ one of these in the “pay it forward” thread 6 or 7 years ago... im still digesting the rest...
  17. Murphy's law! if you hadn't been ready to pull the trigger it would still be there with a 50% discount...
  18. Not this time, am interested from a stakeholder perspective. There are a few issues I need to fill gaps or upgrade to 9.8 but none of them are listed in this auction. How about you?
  19. 5th print at $630 with bp... Donatello 9.8 at $432 with bp...this one surprises me as does #10 9.8 at $312 with bp... There are more bidders and trackers for the Blue label #2 9.8 ($2880 with bp) than the yellow label #2 9.8 ($2520 with bp) which is very interesting. Of course this is with 4 hours left so there will be adjustments. the #1 1st print 9.4 is at a nose bleeding $31,200 with bp...can it go any higher? and the #1 3rd print 9.8 is sitting at $3000 with bp The next four hours should prove to be exciting!
  20. Are you in the market for a 5th print or are you interested as you have one? The 5th print was not on any radar until this year. I remember seeing them in dollar bins around 5 years ago...
  21. Good question about the bidding. I haven’t sat through the end of a Heritage auction before but I will tomorrow. The increments between bids are quite large so sniping may not work as it does on EBay.
  22. HA auction has 1 day 7hours and 42 minutes to go... The results will be interesting as there are high grade copies that’ll set the price point going forward. Anybody have any predictions?
  23. Hi Matt, Thanks for this. We've had discussions about this set for years and what should be and what shouldn't be added to it. Personally I can remember back in 2012 wanting to add an item that wasn't a Mirage Studios publication and the idea was rejected on those grounds. At the time I thought it was a shame not to add something that so clearly was part of the TMNT ride throughout the mid 80's. Many years later I understand what the other board members were defending and appreciate that we didn't alter the 'rules' for eligibility. It's worth noting that once CGC enabled custom sets I was able to display what I wanted and how I wanted without stepping on the toes of other members. For the volume 1 competitive set there're a lot of people who have gone to great lengths to seek out the Mirage books as a set by itself. It was looking really good until December 7 . Anything that members would like to add based on personal preference could go into their custom sets or a competitive set that can been created for the benefit of non Mirage Studios items. Just my Hello @pubmonkey, Thank you for your feedback. I have removed the non-Mirage books from the set.
