  1. I’m not understanding what it is you are asking.
  2. No, taken directly from CSG’s site, “Cross at Any Grade: If you would like your PSA, Beckett* or SGC-holdered card certified by CSG even if CSG determines that it will receive a lower grade, specify CROSS AT ANY GRADE.*CSG treats Beckett BCCG encapsulated cards as raw cards. BCCG cards will be removed from their holders and crossed at any grade.” So you would need to crack the case and submit it as a raw card.
  3. Not sure what the problem with Kenny is. This is at least the 3rd time he has posted this. I asked him for pictures in one of his earlier posts and he never uploaded any. I also told him that a 10 grade is generally not going to happen for a card of that vintage. Also, even if it is a 10, that card is not what I would consider highly valuable or highly desired by the average collector.
  4. Overall, I feel their grading is pretty consistent and fair, though there are always some head scratchers. As for value, CSG is the best way for me to grow my vintage collection at such a rapid pace. You can generally find nice CSG graded vintage baseball cards in the 6-8 grade range for 50-75% the cost of a similarly graded card from PSA. My graded card collection is about 95% from CSG. I have also sent a number of orders to them including vintage for grading.
  5. I was wondering when you will be caught up on slot requests. I still have ~60 slot requests still waiting.
  6. I feel your pain. Earlier this year, I sent in 6 Brooks Robinson cards, 3 came back the same way. These were a ‘71, ‘72, ‘74. I did buy all 3 on eBay, but from 3 different sellers. There is no money in trimming the latter 2, so I doubt I happened to just stumble across 3 trimmed cards all at once.from three different sellers. I was really peeved and nearly walked away from CSG and I still have some residual anger. I also sent in a ‘54 Topps Eddie Matthew at the same time and they claimed evidence of trimming and coloring. I either got the same incompetent grader or was the random sucker for the day that gets all their cards rejected and the company makes some easy money. For what it is worth, I have had much better luck since, so I hope it was a one time issue, but based on your experience, some crazy things are still going on.
  7. They didn’t do away with the 9.5, they just moved the gem mint 9.5 grade to a 10 gem mint grade. To fill that void, they created a 9.5 Mint+. That means the old 9.5 gem mints are treated the same as a 10 gem mint, but a new 9.5 mint+ is not the same.
  8. Wish we had a solid answer for you, but the best I can do is take a wild guess. From the pictures, everything I can see checks out for a higher grade than that, so I’m going to guess there is a problem with the surface. I would look it over thoroughly (both sides) for any dings/dents that you might have missed in pre-grading. If all else fails, I would call customer service and see if they can provide any additional details as to why it was graded as it was.
  9. I recently purchased a 1965 TOPPS #5 BROOKS ROBINSON-MICKEY MANTLE-HARMON KILLEBREW card and was able to add it to the 1965 Topps set successfully, but I could not add it to the Mickey Mantle set, even though there appears to be a slot created for it. I believe the issue is with how the slot is set up, as it appears it is linked to the 1965 Topps #350 Mickey Mantle, see pic below. Thanks
  10. I don’t have any input as for any potential label changes from CSG, but I don’t see any label change having an impact on card values. A collector should be valuing a slabbed card on the card’s appearance and the faith that the grade of the card is accurate. Anyone putting a significant value on the appearance of the label is misguided, that’s my opinion and I’m sticking to it! As a side note, since CSG has the best cases, they should hold the most value if all those little details mean so much to the average collector.
  11. I have done two bulk submissions. The first one I sent in early May 2021, and they didn’t mark it received until 7/14/21, and was shipped on 12/6/22. The second one, I mailed in mid-October 2021, marked received on 10/26/21, and was marked as shipped yesterday 2/4/22. Turn around times have improved significantly as they’ve gotten up to speed. I like their turn around times now, I just hope the new deal with Ebay doesn’t slow things back down. Payment is made when they move your submission status from received to grading/imaging.
  12. Thank you for the response Maribeth, I can’t wait to hear more.
  13. I read on the site that “Top sets will be eligible for prizes and recognition.”. I was just wondering when CSG will begin offering prizes to the tops sets and what sort of prizes they may be. Thanks, IHRedRules
