  1. I'm in the "I'll stick with it for a while because of the subject matter and the fact I *want* to like it" camp, but I wasn't blown away with anything in the pilot and actually was kind of annoyed by some of the cast. I really disliked the two whiz-kid agents with British accents and the hacker girl who lived in a van - all three were unconvincing in their performances and smacked of, as others have said, "generic TV characters". Seeing Coulson again was fun but his history on the silver screen and the Marvel movie pantheon only serves to make everyone else around him pale in comparison... That said, I do think the main "hero" lead (I'm bad with character names) has potential - he reminds me of UFC welterweight Carlos Condit: The effects on the show also seemed lacking. The hooded hero landing on the cement and fracturing it when he jumped out of the building looked like something any of us could produce with the Action Movie app, and the Extremis shimmering red face visuals were a shadow of their detailed selves as seen in IM3.
  2. Chris, I assume you won't be displaying this in your store... Amazing book - congrats!
  3. Revat is a great buyer - pays quick and communicates well... Couldn't ask for more as a seller!
  4. Very cool! Can you point me in the direction about some discussion regarding the origins of these books? First I hear of them and Ellison is one of my favorite authors of all time - to me he and Ray Bradbury are two of the greatest fantasy writers of the past century. I'd love to be able to purchase one of the books from his collection - are they available for sale anywhere?
  5. Picked up a great de-slabbed book from Tom that came complete with all label information and was packed between two sexy pieces of foamcore I will repurpose for shipping books in the future. Grading was not in question and shipping was fast and secure - trust this man in any transaction! (thumbs u
  6. When we are talking syndicated TV cartoons, Masters of the Universe had some really neat carded figures. Ghostbusters too. The LJN Thundercats are pretty awesome. Most M.A.S.K. stuff came in boxes with figures/accessories in baggies so while they aren't a good example of carded/blister line toys, they do represent some of the coolest toys made from that time period. From the point of view of carded/blister toys, I'm partial to the packaging on Star Wars because it locks into some of my earliest childhood memories, but even when compared to the packaging of toys today, they really stand-up well (especially the 12 Backs) when you're talking about their overall quality in appearance and presentation. Less known TV shows like Captain Power achieve all these things as far as quality toy and packaging, but they just don't have the same memory attachment with late 30 and 40-somethings as the big TV cartoon shows like GI Joe, Transformers, He-Man and Thundercats. I love those M.U.S.C.L.E. characters! Those bring back some great memories. Wouldn't mind tracking down a package...
  7. Had the pleasure of meeting Patrick in person to close on a recent purchase. First-rate guy who grades fairly and has some great books. I definitely recommend! (thumbs u
  8. Barton is a fair grader and fast, honest communicator. He was more than accommodating to work out discounted shipping on multiple buys and discounts for being a repeat customer - gotta love it! Highly recommended. (thumbs u
  9. I was at a yard sale in western MA a couple weeks back and stumbled onto something pretty cool - a TMNT sketch done by Peter Laird on a fence with a Ninja Turtles mural. Laird, who lives in the area, had apparently stopped at the sale several years ago (it's a recurring thing), saw the mural, and added some impromptu art with his Sharpie. Pretty cool!
  10. Adding my voice to those confirming Robert's packaging is top-notch, books are graded more than fairly, and turnaround times are lightning-quick. On top of all that, he threw in a couple of great freebies that were pretty sweet in their own right!
  11. Can't recommend George highly enough as a buyer - great communication and he paid lightning-quick via PayPal. Can't ask for much more than that! (thumbs u
  12. That is a beautiful page, indeed. Where'd you find it?
  13. Beautiful cover and amazing, crisp date stamp - very nice!
  14. Art sold me a very nice pre-hero Marvel that was tightly graded, priced right, packed well and shipped quickly! What more could you ask for? A solid (thumbs u guy all around and an asset to the boards!
  15. Chris was awesome to deal with across the board - raw books were graded well, priced right, packaged securely in a box, and shipped quickly. Couldn't ask for more from a seller!

  17. Great communication and follow-up with James - a perfect transaction all around! (thumbs u
  18. That has to be one of my favorite FF covers ever. Kirby greatness, superb balance, the stark white background and grey buildings for contrast, and just a whole lot of legendary heroes going at it... Forgive my ignorance, but who is the guy in the top left (to the left of The Thing) in the green shirt? An occupy protestor who picked the WRONG building... Seriously, I think it's Rick Jones, no?

  20. Nice books! You get 'em here, on eBay, or a show/LCS? Fun reads, all.
  21. Good buy on a sweet pre-hero TOS from Nik. Much appreciated!
