  1. There is a monthly comic mart held near Russell Square which is pretty decent

With 130 tables, will there be some original comic art for sale? :foryou:

    ......130 tables! more like 13.

Does this mean 13 tables of back issue comics, and the rest are overstocked newer graphic novels, Pop toys, tattoos, swords, Pokemon cards, used DVDs, vinyl records? :preach: First time in London, UK.

.....about 1/2 dozen tables with decent back issues, although there doesn't seem to be much new stock and the con seems to have stagnated over the last year or so. I still go and am hoping it improves. London is well worth a visit at any time of the year!

I only go once or twice per year so always manage to pick up a few books. I tend to hold my cash for an annual binge at LSCC

  2. 30th Century Comics are pretty good.

    Orbital Comics is ok

Forbidden Planet is huge but should be avoided at all costs

You could always contact Nick (Flaming_Telepath) who runs Comicana Direct from Kings Langley. He doesn't gave a store as such but occasionally allows customers to visit his office to look at his stock. It's only a short train journey out of London.

  3. That's nice. I don't think his Red Sonja run is that well known.

Red Sonja Vs. Thulsa Doom #3 "Dell'otto Virgin Variant"

And I'm quite happy for everybody else to carry on oblivious of their existence.

Move along people, nothing to see here.....

  4. That is the plan.

Thorne could be a bit tricky. At 85, there is little chance he'll be visiting the UK.

The book has really glossy pages which don't take ink too great. Chaykin signed at 8am and his sig was still not fully dry at 16:30 whilst I was queuing for Cho. End up taking it to the rest rooms and holding it under a hand dryer to speed it along.

  5. The Paul Renaud covers to the first Dynamite series are amazing. When I spotted the sketch variant for only £5 ($7.50), I couldn't believe my luck. Very light blunting at bottom corner. Looks beautiful.

Still not a patch on the Frank Thorne stuff though.

Also got my Art of Red Sonja HC signed by Chaykin and Cho at the con. A really good weekend.

  6.

At some point, I probably will. For now though, I'm just going to enjoy them in all the sweet rawness.

I'm slowly putting together a raw set of the Marvel series and Marvel Feature books in VFN+ or better, including all pence copies. Unfortunately, the Pence books are really hard to find above mid grade.

  7. Some recent ebay purchases. Much closer to finishing up my set! Now if someone would just cough up one of the 2 9.8 graded copies of #2, I could be done!

    Fantastic books :applause:

Not many of those beauties come up for sale often. Congrats on getting these books.
