  1. I sent a full set of this series to someone as part of their Christmas present two years ago. It wasn't a horrible series compared to the massive mess that started to appear in the late 80s. Supposedly, there was a portfolio as well I tried to track down. First of all, this thread is totally awesome. Secondly I either have or had this. It came with a matching numbered #1 inside. I think he came to a Philly con when it came out and I bought it. I either tossed it about 10 years ago or I still have it but I can't check until Thanksgiving. [/quote I was able to check - no dice. I tossed it years ago. Oh well. But I do remember being impressed with the art for the portfolio plates. I went to a local small show today and found the portfolio with the signed book included! I gotta give a shout out to dem1138 for being a standup guy, he remembered my post about Last Generation, and picked up this portfolio for me. It's been a tight year, I even had to drop my comic pull-list, but he sent this out gratis to me unsolicited: It's awesome, and I really appreciate it! I will definitely be paying your good deed forward, thanks again!
  2. Significantly. Last season + this have been the best, IMO. Numbers don't lie.
  3. Having not read all the comics, and if they are in the comics, can someone explain the purpose of the limbless corpses? (probably should tag any responses as spoiler) Edit: Or any guesses as to why?
  4. Just finished the first issue, this jumped into my top 5. Insanely ridiculously awesome first issue.
  5. Based on the subject line, I fully expected this thread to grow...my bank account.
  6. Excited to see what comes of this, currently one of my favorites!
  7. That's right, ha! Well, the only way I can get on board the cannibal fattening house theory is if D and Charlie are behind it.
  8. I don't think that's how it works, but that would make an excellent crossover....wasn't Mac already a guest star, or am I thinking of another series? Hmmm....
  9. You guys have some serious delusional ideas regarding livestock. It would take weeks (or months) of stuffed cupboards for the food to actually affect the weight of anyone who stumbles in there. And why waste the food when they have to resort to eating people? You think the cannibalism is a popular choice? It is obviously either a stash to make them feel comfortable staying there (so they can be observed or snatched) or simply someone's stash that was left behind.
  10. Daryl has no reason to believe any others survived, thus his moment of despair in the middle of the road. If he did see the wrapper, he has no reason to believe or associate it with Rick and Carl. I saw the "claim" moment as him falling into line with the group, accepting their "rules" and his place with them, at least for now...
  11. #1-7, all first prints, $12. Been wanting these since I was 13 years old. Very happy.
  12. Perfect, finally some speculation I'm in on, ebay here I come...
  13. Looking at the cover I read that as "Wastel and Man", I might be a bit hungover... The artists really likes his squiggles, that's a hard thing to master! This is by the same guy who does those pamphlets showing you what to do if your airplane crashes, right? In that last panel, did the artist draw the guy's pubes on the outside of his clothes?? Some men are just too manly for pants to contain.
  14. I've stared at that for ages and I've no idea what is causing that distorted bit. What is it supposed to be?
  15. Interesting. I missed that. So the virus did come from the dead, hmmm...
  16. Question. Did anybody else catch when they are in the vet clinic and deciding whether to go backward through the zombies or open the door of zombies they mention something about the ones behind them being infected? I did not understand that, unless I missed something, isn't everybody "infected"? Or are they talking about the flu that's going through the prison, and if so why were those infected? Did I miss something?
  17. Why is his left hand on his right arm? Deathman is neither right nor left handed, he is all handed! Ambi-handed?
  18. Gotta say, I was actually turned off by the jokey hungover bar preview but picked it up for the Staples variant. Excellent art and smart dialogue. Definitely looking forward to seeing where this goes.
  19. Nice find! The questionnaire is the best part. Can you imagine if comics today asked these questions? Is the price fair? Were you ever lost at any point?
  20. Jeremy's contribution to the new Little Nemo book (via BC ), hopefully this get's made into a print:
  21. Not looking to argue, but want to discuss this point. You state "PP has the potential to be even bigger because it is based on a subject matter that appeals to a broader audience." I assume you are talking about it being based on Peter Pan? This isn't necessarily aimed only at Mike's Rack, so please anyone chime in: Is Peter Pan really a broader audience than the zombie genre? No worries, this is the place for discussion. My take is that zombies appeal to a niche market mostly males 18-35 (though not exclusively by any means). Peter Panzerfaust combines two themes, Peter Pan, a century old popular character that has withstood the test of time and World War II, another theme that cuts across demographics and appeals to the young and old. I think it has the potential to be bigger. Walking Dead has expanded beyond the 18-35 male demographic because it is good drama. If PP can produce some good drama, I think it has more potential than WD but, that is a big if and it is a long shot, nowhere near a sure thing. Peter Panzerdead? ...
  22. Looks awesome, I had to go back into DCBS and add this to my order when I heard about it:
