  1. I'm interested why you would want to shut JDR up? He presents his arguments cogently, if somewhat aggressively. And everyone is free to evaluate the logic and worth of each post. I think the main thing with JDR is that he always uses the terminology of "crashing" I don't see it as crashing at all. It is a period of irrational exuberance that leads to artificially propped up highs. Whether these are fomented by shilling or not is typically a case by case analysis. But those artificial highs, when they correct, can correct precipitously. And for those who are heavily invested, or who have bought in at the top of the market, it certainly looks like a crash. Never said i wanted to "shut him up" but realistically and im not the only one that notices it, he is constantly bashing on modern titles, especially ones that start to climb up in some decent value. everyone is entitled to comment on anything on this forum, but it tends to get old and quite annoying real quick when you always see the same person bashing titles that this one person doesn't own or like.... People have to face it that BA#12 in any decent shape or grade is going to fetch good money. Harley Quinn is for some reason a hot character and apparently with the way her current modern series is selling and how Margot robbie has been signed to play her in more then one film is that Harley is here to stay.... I agree with the fetch good money thing. But if it settles back down in the $800-$1200 range for a 9.8, what does that mean for the people that may buy in at irrationally (My terminology) high levels like $2000-2500 or even higher. That is still real good money, but to the top end purchasers, it doesn't feel good.
  2. theres only 11.... maybe 10k... heheh I drove 2 hrs to Buena Park to get mine... :: Once the census has been updated for Emerald City, that number is going to double. Anyone that wants to give me 10k for mine, i will fly it to you in person and do interpretive dance on your lawn for 10 minutes, tutor your kids in math, give your wife a backrub and wash your golf clubs before I jump back on a plane.

  4. I have never read what Ellis' take was, but that has been my impression. I really liked Millar's arc too, but it did feel like a letdown.
  5. My only beef with Authority is that Ellis felt like he had to keep making the opponents tougher and tougher? After the war with "god" where else is there to go?
  6. Absolutely love this set. If Ellis or Hitch would show up more I would complete 1-12 or 1-18.

  10. In my experience there is far more potential for damage in the creator's hands than in the facilitator's, but danger lies everywhere.
  11. If not the timeline, which you aren't disputing, how about just the fact that his response is coming from thin air? You are sharing his response to a PM you sent him - where is that PM or what did it say? Once again, you are not sharing the cause of the responses you are offering as your proof. Leaving out the PM that compelled him to respond to you is the same as your failure to disclose why you accepted an offer while making reference to two other books that your non-buyer never asked about. Same problem as before, you can't cherry pick a discussion so others will the conclusion you want them to reach. I don't require a response to any of this but if you're going to go from "I'm not in the business of enforcing sales" to "I'm going to out this guy in an hour"...you should anticipate some scrutiny of your proof. Please just stop. I clearly have nothing to hide here. As stated before, the buyer is clearly and wholly aware of the ongoing discussion. If I was being a total and unreasonable hat here, I would be expect to be called out by the buyer which I would understand. So let me get this straight.... I'm "outing" a buyer whom I have not named to enforce a sale which I have no interest in completing? What is my endgame here? You seem to have some mysterious interest in the situation although it has been made clear that IT IS A DONE DEAL. I don't know where your unchecked aggression is coming from, but I'd be happy to meet and arm wrestle for dominance if that will make you feel better. via Imgflip Meme Maker
  12. It's not trolling for someone to request complete exposition of the subject. You are the one who brought it up for the forum's review and comment. You either edited the PMs or you didn't. If you didn't, prove it. If you did, especially if done to try and spin the exchange, then shame on you. As is often the case, you start to look worse than the semi-anonymous complainee, when you attack the people for providing you what you asked for in the first place.
  13. That wasn't my most cogent thought, was it? Run it through the Babelfish English to Greek translator, and then back again, and see if that helps.
  14. One tends to always underestimate demand, as it is not as quantifiable as supply. While I would guess that is likely true, I have a strong belief that there is a a huge percentage of flippers flipping to come bet flippers flipping to hard core speculators, flipping to movie hype speculators etc.
  15. I continue to be amazed at the price increases. I have not memorized circulation data, but it seems as though there would be no way for demand to exceed supply sufficient to drive these books up, but it keeps happening. This is a pretty crazy time.
  16. It's like you found a few grand at the bottom of your sock drawer... Between the 6 auctions that ended Sunday night and the 6 auctions that ended last night, I'm averaging about $45 per book so far. And I still have 9 more auctions ending tomorrow (Thursday) night. (thumbs u I've noticed so far it's not 12 different buyers. One guy on Sunday night bought 3 copies and another guy bought 2 copies. Then last night just one guy picked up 5 of the 6. Of course not. Most of these price increases are flippers flipping to flippers. Just like the antique furniture market. The key is not to be holding the bag when the music stops.
  17. Crow is a niche book. It may have a rabid fan base, but it is small - at least in comparison to Batman, Spider-Man or even Deadpool. Prices are exceedingly strong for the small number of books in the original run stories.
