  1. Hope it had plenty of bacon. Bacon gets a bad rap.
  2. Lent is over muthaphocker. I had a delicious salad for lunch today.
  3. A tale told by an insufficiently_thoughtful_person, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.
  4. That is Sho'Nuff funny. Hey now, I'll never hit the heights of hilarity that Bug/BlackHeartedDwarf/ShoNuff did. He was the master! Well, I can always hope. Why did you can Bropper? That was awesome.
  5. I still maintain that you should have your own forum. I'd ditch this place for that. I would be a benevolent despot. All would be welcome save greggy.
  6. Can we get this thread moved to the "What is High Grade" Forum?
  7. Telerites could have gotten 30-40k easily when his was the only 9.8 on the census.
  8. It's more like he remembered that raspberries have that "p" in there, and he had to jam it in.
  9. That is a great looking 5.0. Presents great for the grade!!
  10. If I wanted to do something worthwhile and/or serious I would be working instead of posting here. Thanks for being the Anti-Mr. Roarke and nuking my own personal Fantasy Island. Smiles, everyone, smiles!
  11. I have read some dumb threads in my days, and seen a lot of intellectual capital be expended upon dubious topics. But grown men arguing over whether one fictional character is stronger than another fictional character, particularly when those characters have been changed, modified, ret-conned and un-ret-conned continuously for almost 50 years, takes the cake. CGC Boards, I salute you for the relentless pursuit of the ridiculous, the unending quest for the unprovable, and the unyielding willingness to act like ninnies. Harumph!
  12. I remember that list. It was inside "Wonder Man #1" and it was in the back story entitled "Wonder Man's Wet Dream" Also, the list was written by Roman Wend . . . might be an anagram for something . . .
  13. Must be the patriotic swell of pride leftover from us smoking OBL.
  14. So, are you saying he'd orgasm? I try not to judge. I think there is something wrong with your medulla oblongata. The next time we meet I expect you to be wearing a suit made out of some type of cloth. Can we share a meal made of food? I thought we were trading lines from "My Cousin Vinny" Actually it went "Waterboy" then "My Cousin Vinny" then "Mr. Deeds." I am apparently feeling rather Adam Sandler today.

The next time we meet I expect you to be wearing a suit made out of some type of cloth. Can we share a meal made of food? That's usually a third or fourth date kind of thing. I thought you were exporting all your homoeroticism to the UK these days?

  17. That is exactly the way that Anthony Castrillo put it when he was bristling a little bit about people calling his work "sketches." They may be on sketch covers, but they are not sketches. Same thing with these convention pieces.

  19. What happens when Superman knocks him out before he gets mad? It's not who wins in a fight...read the title again. If there was a thread about who could expend the most intellectual energy on a topic not worth a goat fart, you would win hands down.
  20. DS had done some fanzines and inking of some Russ Manning Tarzan before this was published. This is certainly very early work, and maybe 1st pencil work published. I leave it to you Stevens scholars. No beautiful ladies, though: Here is the cover of the underground. It is a Hunter S. Thompson parody.
  21. What is Dave's first published work? I picked up an underground today from 1977 that had two pages of DS art. I will post pics on Monday.
  22. It is but some are here to sell comics and the community is secondary. Can I ask where this blanket statement comes from? 1) I don't know of anyone selling to HOS members. 2) to say, if you are referring to me, that selling comics comes first and the community comes second, I suggest you take a look at the entire body of what I've done here. This is specifically why I defended clobberintime -- this is the half cocked way in which some people decide to take their holier than thou positions about right and wrong. Finally, on the issue of SAGAT, I think there's very clear evidence that he knowingly sold a restored book as unrestored. What list he ought to go on is irrelevant to me, except that people should be informed. If that means the HOS, so be it. I was wondering where that statement came from as well. Is there some subtext we are missing? I've always known Brian to be an honest dealer on these board and of high character. It comes from Brian being very forthright about his dealings with clobberintime, and saying that based upon prior good dealings, he would deal with him again. clobberintime screwed F_T on a deal to get on the PL (not a good choice of sellers to screw) and a lot of folks have been testy about BK's statements. The irony is thick when one's abject desire to be forthright causes folks to question one's forthrightness (if that is a word).
