  1. It would not get a pedigree designation because the person did not buy them off the stands. It could get a "From the Collection of ___________________" designation, though.
  2. Discuss, don't discuss. Stop, don't stop. You are too concerned about what was and what will be. There is a saying: yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That is why it is called the "present."
  3. Weren't you the guy that said you picked 3 10.0 raw books for submission and had them graded at 10.0 or did i misunderstand you? Didn't I "guess" and send in a comic that I thought had a shot at 9.9 and it came back CGC 9.9 while all the rest I had pegged at 9.8 and they graded CGC 9.8? Didn't we just discuss this on the copper forum a few weeks ago? How is that arbitrary? Here's how I would define it. If Jon Jespersen told me a modern was 9.8, I'd bet $500 that he was right. If JJ told me a book was 9.9, I'd back it up with $20. You just never know with the uber grades.
  4. (thumbs u One of the few sensible responses. Consider this receipt for lunch picked up by Roman Abramovich: $47k for lunch, and that's all going down the toilet a couple hours later... Apparently he also tipped an additional $5k on top of the automatic 20%, so his total tip was more than the sale of NM98. If someone has the cash to burn, they don't mind paying way over the odds if it gets them what they want. Why show restraint? I'm sure Mr. Abramovich had just closed a major deal. So, you're example is quite mute. moot  /mut/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [moot] Show IPA Use moot in a Sentence See web results for moot See images of moot –adjective 1. open to discussion or debate; debatable; doubtful: a moot point. 2. of little or no practical value or meaning; purely academic. 3. (of letters) silent; not pronounced. 5. Law. (of a person who has been arraigned) making no plea or giving an irrelevant response when arraigned, or refusing to stand trial (used chiefly in the phrase to stand mute). 6. Fox Hunting. (of a hound) hunting a line without giving tongue or cry.
  5. My ears are burning. Reported side effect of second-hand Valtrex exposure.
  6. The worst part is with all the damn avatar-blending, I thought RMA's post was Watson.
  7. I must have missed the conspiracy. Dang it. I love a good conspiracy.
  8. Just sold a 9.8 on the bay several weeks ago for about $1650, so I agree with it still holding value. I paid $700 for my 9.4 last year when I didn't have a clue what I was doing Dammit, I must have missed the thread when you finally picked up that clue.
  9. It is so disappointing to see our sellers here consistently getting hosed. All I can think is that this place is an almost constant smorgasboard of amazing books and we have more and more people who are trying to eat until their guts explode.
  10. have fun with that.... made a 90 should have been a 96... F-in true/false questions with a third option of "abmigious"... missed both of them by picking ambigious If I took a test and it said for answers that my choices were: (1) True (2) False (3) Abmigious (4) Ambigious I think my head would explode like on Scanners.
  11. I knew you would post that if you were around. Amethyst is better than Beetlejuice. You only have to say it once.
  12. before pressing, maybe, after pressing, no. just look at gi joe 21 as an example and that book is older. Your example confounds me as there are no 9.9 copies of GI Joe 21. A 9.9 GI Joe 21 would make this auction look like it was for a mid-grade Amethyst run.
  13. You're doing it again. Just ask him if he'd like to go out sometime, and get it over with. If by "go out" you mean "stand still so I can hit him with a sweatsock full of nickels" I'm all for it.
  14. I am this close to issuing a formal apology to myself for inflicitng this thread upon myself.
  15. garbage. $433.50? Batman: The Cult is total . Anyone could tell you that Liefeld is a way better artist than Wrightson could ever hope to be. $43.35? I had not seen this. Not a bad price at all. http://www.comicconnect.com/bookDetail.php?id=300302

  17. I have a Batman:The Cult #1 in 10.0 that I subbed myself. Anyone want to give me $4335 for it?
  18. Everyone is running around nekkid. Even you. That the beauty of it. One person running around nekkid is trying to tell the other person running around nekkid, that he is nekkid. If you want to take a discussion about the price of the book and make it personal we can rip each other up perpetually, Troll. I still love you, you conservative you. {Sigh}
