  1. That Albatross #1 looks spectacular for a 9.4. Mine is 9.4 and you can see the one spine stress from about fifty paces.
  2. Anyone that uniformly blasts Don Heck's artwork needs to check this cover out! Beautiful book, Cheetah.
  3. Indeed. COI, I'm happy for you and Imma let you finish, but She-Ra is the hottest cartoon chica of all time.
  4. And do I get to be the Hatfields or the McCoys? And what are the merits of each choice? Sounds like I may need another of RMA's walls'o'text to decide on this one. Oh, and if he could throw in yet another comment on other people's moral ambivalence, that'd be great, too. I know this about moral ambivalence. If the devil himself had a super sweet Avatar Goon #1 in Yellow label 9.9 with a sweet Buzzard head sketch for $300, you might not buy it on moral grounds, but then again you might. Depends on which devil. Satan? Sure, I got no beef. RMA? I think not. Better the devil you know . . .

  6. I like both of your internet personas, having met neither of you. I do, however, enjoy this ridiculous Hatfield/McCoy Butthurt Feud more. Carry on. PS to DrWatson: Sorry about mentioning the Hatfields and McCoy's, Arex told me that your family has lost several chickens as collateral damage in that feud.
  7. I wish I was quick enough to think of that.
  8. Was going through my art protfolio last night and re-discovered these from Gem City this year. Dave Aikins had produced the Frank and the Dracula as spiffs for the show. I commissioned him to do the Wolfman, Mummy and Creature. He threw in the Invisible Man for free. Aikins.
  9. Normally, when a three year old thread gets bumped there is a reason.
  10. Anyone know where the word shambler comes from? There's no formal dictionary entry, but it is often referenced as a 'doom' type, horrific monster. I always seem to equate that shambler from the stars, with shambler from the sea in the doctor strange (marvel premiere) series. I have absolutely no backup for this, but I believe that is a name picked up from the stories of HP Lovecraft. I have read a little Lovecraft, but I also think that there was a reference to the story "Shambler from the Stars" in the 1st edition of the Deities and Demigods manual, before Lovecraft's estate made them take all that stuff out.
  11. It takes a strong pimp hand to pat oneself on the back.
  12. Kudos to Brian (chainnball) for the Tuska signing. The sigs are clean as a whistle, the raw MOTU came back 9.8 and the the two CGC 9.6 Power Man books both held grade. Such a top notch effort. I really appreciate it.
  13. I love it. But this is why I think you are drunk all the time.
  14. This Board needs a chirping crickets graemlin, for when popcorn just isn't enough . . .
  15. I have $500 waiting for a well centered and unfugly 9.4 copy of Ghosts #1.
  16. The census is such an important part of the overal service & value that CGC offers. It seems incredibly short-sighted not to do as much as possible towards keeping the census clean! There really should be a tempting bounty paid on the labels from books that are freed from slabs. I don't get why they don't get it! Why should they decrease what is almost certainly a tight profit margin by paying people to send in labels? What is so hard about understanding that the census shows the maximum number of possible available slabbed copies? The percentage that it is off should be a factor of how valuable the book is (crack and re-sub) plus the desirability for its inclusion in the Sig. Series (a different kind of crack and re-sub)
  17. I wouldn't say they care...there is only so much they can do to get the customer to return labels. In the end it should be the customer's decision as it is in the customer's best interests. How is it in the customers best interest?
  18. The number of tough 9.4-9.8 CGC books from that stock was staggering already. Now it is going to be out of control.
  19. Danny is a superstar SS witness, unless you need him to introduce you to a boardie that you want to meet, then he will make you stand there like a dork until the guy leaves.
  20. Thanks, man. I was a little . . .surprised.
  21. Right above the Crow's head. It's silver and doesn't reflect from the angle I took the picture at.
