  1. Sorry? You think this is going to be giving CLink a run for their money? The way I would see it is it's an opportunity to shift stuff for much less than you would list it here for...and potentially taking a bath...with the occasional 'hot' book making you a bit of your losses back. Oh, and it might actually be a bit of fun...although I think rule 6 (a.2) does suggest we keep that sort of thing to an absolute minimum. Sure, that's exactly what I was saying. Obviously I was comparing the CGC Board sales, where books regularly go for 40% to 50% of guide, to CLInk. Glad you made the connection. Link to 60% off guide sales thread, please.
  2. Yeah, those "charity/help out a board member with expenses/etc." ones fly under the radar, and I remember Arch making a similar comment regarding charity auctions when someone (Comicwiz?) asked him about it. But that doesn't mean it's cool for personal gain, or that the board and CGC won't come down hard on profit-mongering auctioneers who simply want to transform this into EBay. profit-mongering auctioneers > breadstick-armed fanboys
  3. I babelfished "Eat me, hill dweller" and that was the best it could do.
  4. That's how the old Yahoo Auctions used to work (and we know what happened to them). Yahoo failed because eBay had a first mover advantage. Where eBay had NOT solidified its hold, Yahoo more than held its own (Japan). eBay actually pulled out of Japan in 2002. konichiwa ebay person_without_enough_empathyez 私をの丘の住人食べなさい
  5. This is true. There were some amazing auctions back in those days. Is wilson the shill? Don't sully my memories of the sweet rec.arts.comics.marketplace days. I have no memories so tough luck, sucker

  8. Kudos to Blow Up the Moon and MedicAR for nice CGC 9.6 Bronze #1s. Thanks, guys. --Sean.
  9. Maybe he's got a climate controlled room? No reason the boss has to have the same work condition as the peons. According to Dante, the 9th Circle is frozen, perfect for storing funny books. Who wouldn't rock a book from the Fallen Angel pedigree complete with a Reynold Jay-style certificate describing just how fricking cold it is down there.
  10. Here, lazy ! I was actually looking for a link to the Devils' cheap books for sale. Greggy doesn't currently have anything for sale. Dude, the devil checks under his bed for greggy before he flips off the lights at night.
  11. Still feeling your oats after record profits? Yes, I am going to blow it on some common 9.8 BA DCs Sell me the 9.6 undercopies, cheap? Sell, yes. Cheap, never. Does the Canadian Revenue Agency get a taste of American auction sales proceeds?

  14. Kudos to F_T for some more sweet Mildenhalls from across the pond and kudos to grails for always being great to deal with, even when the post office is a pain in the arse for all involved. Thanks, Charlie.
