  1. It actually won't be Wednesday. I have a bit of waiting to do yet. I am a dummy.
  2. If anyone is friends with, or wants to contact DennisRodmanofSS, it would be a good idea. I will be nominating him for the PL on Wednesday.
  3. This is probably going to be an unpopular opinion, but after all the years of being here and all the shenanigans, I honestly feel like buyers should just do whatever due diligence they are going to do, and either buy or don't buy. What the other guy paid for his copy should have no bearing on anything. If every error of omission leads to the villagers lighting the torches, where does it all end? Doesn't the buyer either want it at the price, or he doesn't? Doesn't the buyer bear some responsibility to check the public data? I'm not talking about fraud or active misleading. Just not being "comprehensive" in your info. Don't mind me, it's beautiful weather, but taxes have me . . .
  4. That was surprisingly good. A Robert Rodriguez joint.
  5. That was easy? What the F were you doing in the 80's Pontoon?
  6. Huey Lewis and the News - I Want a New Drug
  7. That's Floyd barber shop from Andy Griffith
  8. Yeah, it would have to be after the original #1. I think that was all Ben Dunn art. Plus I am pretty sure that the 1st Fred Perry work on the mag was v.2 #5. So v.2 #11 could be it. I definitely don't have that.
  9. That is the original newsprint cover version. There is a second print with a slick cover as well.
  10. Take a book that's had fans for 25 years, and a first appearance (this mini) with a tiny print run... Factor in attrition and the fact that most surviving copies are probably buried in collections, and it's a recipe for heated bidding. First appearance is in Mangazine.
  11. Cult fav artist, scarcity and/or 1st app.'s are my guesses. But I'd love to hear a concrete answer. The early Antartic Press books have the print run for the issue in the indica. Usually between 1000 to 2000 were produced. Inaddtion, most of the early Antartic Press comics were considered adult and not many LCS ordered copies. There are lots of rare little indies worth squat though, there's got to be some demand to the equation. I guess there are a few neckbeards trying to complete their runs then It's the manga / Final Fantasy crowd that is into these books. I don't know much about the market, but from trying to track them down, they are legitimately tough books. AP used to be super up front about print runs, so I wouldn't be surprised if it were well known that there were only 3000 or 5000 made.
  12. They are Fred Perry Manga books. I think of Fred Perry and Ben Dunn as the fathers of American Manga. I knew these were hard to find, because I tried to find a #1 for 6 months when Fred was announced at SDCC a couple of years ago. I had no idea that they would blow up price-wise, but there has always been strong demand (from what I could see) for a lot of the early Antarctic Manga stuff.
  13. + 1. Everybody can make a mistake and therefore we should be given a second chance. That’s not the case in this situation. Oceanavekid has had numerous bad experiences on this board. If he’s taken off the probation list he would have been given multiple chances and the most likely outcome will be a new member getting the screws from him in a couple of months. I thought we were a community that looks after each other. IMO giving this guy the opportunity to sell comics is not protecting the community. The posters who know about him will most likely not deal with him but what about the ample posters that don’t know who he is. Who’s protecting them? IMO I care more about the members who do the right thing day after day then this poster who has been nothing but a problem since he arrived here. The PL is not about being an indelible mark upon someone. "Personal lists" can be permanent "do not deal with" lists. The PL is intended to be a mechanism to get buyers and sellers who have run afoul of the norms to make amends and get back in good standing. The HOS is for indelible marks. I don't necessarily disagree with your thoughts or your position, but the PL has never been intended to "protect" n00bs or those unaware of someone's dealings.
