  1. It does. I should have known he couldn't have been responsible for that giggle.
  2. It was about $300 for the first round, but that included SS slabbing. And that was in an era where the only person (for the most part) charging for sigs was Stan and he was $20-25 a throw. It was a staggering amount of money at the time, but many knew better than I how good the ROI was going to be.
  3. Walking-Bird made me giggle. That is unacceptable, as it is well known that Ryan is, in fact, unfunny.
  4. No doubt. Tell us about the time grandpa fell out of the Conestoga wagon . . .
  5. Talk about "defacing" a book! That ranks among the worst single signatures on a comic I've ever seen. And HIS signature on THAT comic makes it all the more stupid. . +2
  6. It's a completely different market. Someone paying that much for a set is a manga fiend. Most likely they would have no use for a slab. It's a perfect illustration of why you shouldn't have slab blinders on. Sometimes raw is the way to go. my apologies Sean. I was responding to CAK who has since deleted his post. He was pumping up Suicide Squad 1 going back to $400 dollars and that "daddy needed a break" Sorry bud. I thought you were referring to a Gold Digger #1 in SS 9.8

  8. That is great to see them all there together. Two of the more difficult Bronze #1s to find in good shape - the Debbi books
  9. I still think Starhawk is the most logical choice. Quill's mom says that his father was an angel "composed of pure light." That is way more like Starhawk than Hyperion, unless there has been a massive retcon. Has the Squadron Supreme from the Supreme Power universe come to the 616?
  10. I would be trying to sell that POS everywhere as well. That Stan sig is f-Ing atrocious
  11. When and how did CAK get access to Hector's account? Hector has been allowing unfettered CAK access since that 9 week bounce in County.
  12. I think you still have to wait the requisite 30 before you can officially nominate. Okay. See you guys May 22nd! There is an exception if he flat out tells you he is not going to pay though. I thought your rules trumped the board rules on the PL nomination I thought so as well, but couldn't remember if that was a rule or something we have allowed as general practice. I tend to think that if it is in your sales thread rules, that should negate waiting the 30 days along as it was clearly stated. (Note: JSilver meant "Your rules" as in the seller's, not made up rules by yours truly) Well, that's not nearly as provocative.
  13. Its just a person's preferred way to sell. They must have their reasons. And they're following the rules, not being dishonest or unethical. No one else is being harmed in any way. Not everyone is going to sell in the EXACT way that EVERY OTHER PERSON thinks is best or makes the most sense. Let the players play! Want to sell for 10x more or less than GPA? Let the players play. Want to provide only back scans (as long as you list the grades)? Let the players play. Want to presell? Let the players play. And the potential buyers can do what they do... I don't disagree with any of this. But that's not going to stop me from making fun of it, so suck it.
  14. Well, how else would you do it? When they actually arrive, they are being sold in other venues.
  15. I bet. That back cover is rough. And it attracts bindery tears. Kind of reminds me of the $1.00 comics from DC. The cherry on top was that nobody cared about it when it came out.
  16. The one-shot is much tougher in grade than the #1 of the ongoing series.
  17. Seems fairly cut and dry. You do need to send him that seperate PM telling him he has been nominated to the PL. What was the timeline(date) from when he stated he'll pay you tomorrow and the last PM you sent him requesting a status? Also are the PMs showing as being read by him? Yes, just sent him a separate pm re: nomination in probation discussion thread The transaction was firstly discussed since 25 mar 2016 and he answered "I think so, do you need payment right away??" on the 25 Mar 2016. He then said "should have you paid by tomorrow." on 5 April 2016 He haven't read my pm since 9 April 2016 My deal with him is still undone. It will be ripe for PL on May 7th. Avoid at all costs.
  18. In this instance, you need to have a clear understanding of what the terms are. Many people offer guaranteed 9.8 pre-sale signed books. If you don't get a 9.8 then you haven't gotten what you paid for. You are entitled to a refund, at very least. Others will say "I have 10 NM/NM+ books" and if you order one, you get whatever they come back. That is dicier. What if some come back 8.5 or 9.0? That is nowhere near NM/NM+ But under no circumstances on that pre-sale are you entitled to a 9.8. If you want a guaranteed grade, negotiate for a guaranteed grade. Otherwise, you get what you get.
  19. I don't find anything funny. But I'll take that as a no. In all seriousness, congrats. That is an epic book.
