Nice book, Scrooge. I love the Fights from that era.

4#7 (I really like this cover for some reason):
I really like it too (thumbs u
+1. As if it wasn't enough to have those giant, green, gentle critters, apparently there is a race of people that are twice as tall as ordinary humans. Classic!

Not even in the same league with what you guys are posting but it's my first Shadow pulp. I wasn't really planning on buying it but now it's mine
and I love it... even though I won it with my tracking bid.

Thanks, guys. I love the Palais and Powell art inside and although it's new territory for me, I think I'm adding Al Avison to my list of cover artists to collect. Found this in the Heritage archive.

There's something both graphic and abstract about his style. Really cool.

Went to the Philly Comic Con monthly show today with my buddy Todd, and managed to pick up three little funnybooks. Tried to land a bigger fish, but I must have been using the wrong bait, or the price was just too crazy
But I'm happy to come home with these
Those are some nice scores, ciorac. A good day's work! (thumbs u

And my first Harvey pre-code book (thanks to Greg Reece and his excellent grading)
I like it! Now I have to find a reader copy because I'm too worried about reading this one.

Hoohah!
Likey!

Just like Screamin Jay Hawkins said.
Awesome. There aren't many people today who know know the work of Screamin' Jay. (thumbs u

March 1938 (Lovecraft)
This is one of my favorite Brundage covers.
I'm usually not all that fond of red covers, but this one is a knockout.
This is why I always say you should never be naked around human skulls. Clearly, no good can come from it and, in this case, something weird happens.

I 'm happy there's an audience for it.
All ten of us appreciate it
Eleven now
Twelve. This stuff is really cool. I just don't have a lot of it but love seeing it. Thanks to all for posting.

Cheetah, you're a monster. Those are awesome copies of some of the toughest ECs. Once you get hooked on Gaines File Copies, it's hard to accept much less.

So happy this little friend came into my life. He found his way home to me from Heritage with the help of FedEx.
Despite the tear at the top, it is definitely the glossiest and freshest book I've ever held from 1942. My kind of Fine +! (thumbs u

joker 1 makes the "fat" timely #1 run complete---here ya' go. forgot about krazy 1, so it is an addendum.
That's pretty impressive, man. Nice work!

The Junior with the white cover is a DOUBLE COVER! And the interior copy is stunning
I love every book in this picture and several of them are very tough. Nice books, all, ciorac!

Is this an issue where CMJ goes ice skating, because the little dude in the lower right sure looks like he's about to pull off a triple axle.
That's a karate chop, my friend Karate chop.

It's not easy collecting so many different things. It's just that there is so much very cool stuff out there. Comics, Vintage Paperbacks, Pulps, Postcards, Statues, Movie posters, and on and on. I never get tired of it.
Nice stuff, Alanna. Thanks for posting. (thumbs u

If you were looking to purchase a Wonder Woman comic for investment purposes only, which one would you purchase, what grade and why? Budget of between $5,000 - $10,000. I have been looking to get grab a copy of All Star 8 for a while now, but I have been having second thoughts - she's not on the cover and it seems as though in the CGC era, books are seemingly cover-driven more than anything else. Interestingly all three seem to have similar market values.
I wouldn't do this. I believe it's wrong-headed.

Wow, David. Nice book. Love the colors on that copy.

Sold at U. S. newsstands are about a dozen pulp magazines with such titles as Amazing Stories, Astounding Stones, Startling Stories, Strange Stories, Fantastic Adventures, Thrilling Wonder Stones, Unknown, Marvel Science Stories, Weird Tales. In the pulp trade they are known as "pseudo-scientifics" or "scientifiction." This week in Manhattan this amazing group of publications produced an amazing show: a convention of their fans.
From Time Magazine, 1939.

Excellent article, man. I've been a huge fan of Scientifiction my whole life. (thumbs u

Awesome cover - presents much nicer in person.
Why didn't I start collecting this stuff sooner??
I know what you mean. I've collected ECs off and on for 20 years and all I have are higher standards and a few nice books. It's brutal on your wallet. Just don't look at the wartime Golden Age comics and you'll be okay. Early Golden Age books are just a giant lesson of wanting and never having.
Those damn photo-journals. They're a blessing and a curse.
Nice Ingels cover, by the way. Always liked that one but never owned it. (thumbs u

That Cinderella Love 27 has something very special going for it. What is that, a 9.6 with White Pages? Nice copy!
-
That Dagwood Splits the Atom is excellent.
-
yesDo you mind my asking what grade your Action #1 is in?
Saw that one coming...
I'm probably missing something right?
I figure that if I owned one, given what they've been selling for, I wouldn't want to advertise just how big a fish it was. Unless, I'm missing something.

OK, maybe I am just seeing things, but I have read a lot of Plastic Man stories and I know that Jack Cole had a clever sense of humour. On the second page of the Comet story that was posted here earlier, there is a moving truck shown. Is that a dirty word on the side of the truck? Did Mr. Cole slip one in there? Maybe I am wrong, but it sure looks like it.
Sam
Wow. Very sharp.
Have a Cigar! Golden Age only....!

Hamlet- Dude, he actually might buy it. Let's not encourage him or there will be no super nice books for the rest of us.
Cheetah- it's actually not that nice of a book. And I assume you've already seen it and have no interest in it or you would have bought it by now. If you haven't seen it, it's really not that nice.
Vincent and Steven- I want that book.
