Ther are reasons why Hulk 1 is often compared to AF15. One thing thats can be compared and is evident with AF15 is that the fuse is lit at both ends. Yes obviously high grade books will sell at mind blowing figures, but also down in the bottom where there are more people who can afford to drop a few grand you will see some fantastic sales like the one mentioned. Expect to see more
I expect to see more I just don't expect to see them in the next few sales. I'm thinking a sweet spot for a 2.0 is 2800-3200$ right now just based off the price of other available low/mid grades. What I do like the best here in this discussion is when I offered my 2.5 up for sale a month ago I was laughed at by several people with my price point before it sold. All the while I was quoting the 1.5 that sold for 2500$ there was no end to the people telling me that was a fluke based on the signatures inside the cover.
I certainly wasn't laughing.
me either, I thought it was a strong asking price, and was really hoping it would sell for that price.

With the junk that was missi g from the back they paid for both that book will never upgrade. Was it a nice looking 2.0? Yes if you never turn it over its probably the nicest looking 2.0 you will find. Was it worth the price it commanded I to me no. I would rather spend and extra couple hundered and buy a book that isn't missing a chunk and presents well.
To each his own though. Will that price affect future low grade copies? I wouldn't bank on it setting any standards when there are still 3.5/4.0s to be had close to the same price.
Only time will tell. I really think in the next year or two, Hulk 1 will go up significantly . and 4K+ for a 2.0 will be common.
Do I think that this is the future of the book? Yes I agree 100% but I think that this price tag is a few years away. Closer to 2014/2015 as you mentioned above. The movie is slated for 2015 and I agree the book is important. You guys know me and you know I love the Hulk. I offered 4600$ on the 4.0 on eBay. Was countered with 4750$ and have been debating it. I was about to pull the trigger last night after I completed a huge sale. But my buyer ended up buying a few thousand dollars less than I expected, so right now I am waiting for Chicago to roll around.
Does this book have great upward potential? Yes should people invest in it now? Yes with out a doubt. Is a 2.0 worth 4200$? No, not while there are 4.0s to be had for just a couple hundred dollars more.
I see where your coming from but there's the old addage..It's only worth what someone's willing to pay. In this case some one was willing to pay 4k + for a 2.0 so yes, a nice 2.0 is worth 4k. I think it'll take time for a 2.0 to become a 4k book regardless of presentability but I don't think you'll be buying 2.0s for much less than that much longer.

It wasnt a fluke. Someone paid for the book and not the label.I'm looking to join the club at the 1.0 range. What is the current market?That's a big ? for me.. I am not sure how that 2.0 sale on Heritage would change the market for lower graded copies.
Not at all a 1.0 sold for 1175$ on ebay after that sale as mentioned above. You can buy a 4.0 on eBay right now for 4750$ that 2.0 sale was a fluke.

A 2.0 for 4200 bucks? I knew that it would gain the respect it deserves eventually,but that is getting in the AF 15 type numbers.
Yep, it'll be real interesting to see where it is a year from now. I'm hoping my 4.5 will bring 10k (if I were to sell)
