  1. I really enjoyed the fourth episode on On Demand last night. Hoping they keep up with the tone now, as I didn't care for episode 2 much. The grainy HD picture is gonna make for a sucky Blu Ray transfer though(like Burn Notice). Hopefully they have a better film stock next year for higher production values in the long run.
  2. I was for that myself, but after watching the Star Wars prequels on Spike last time they were on, I now feel this is better as his children's story. There is more mystery here that is being unraveled properly for their storyline, that probably won't be as suspenseful the second time around, IMHO.
  3. That's Bubo from the 1981 Clash of the Titans movie.
  4. Been pretty content with the $10 CGC 9.6, so it wasn't me. But... Wouldn't mind a 9.8 though. It's got to be worth about two goats and a donkey up here in NH.
  5. I guess since they have multiple variants to the comics, they may as well have variants of the keys too! I might buy an extra one and try to trick it ot with glowing red LED eyes or something.
  6. How many Marvel Comic homage images could you find in the new issue? I got: I'm sure there is more.
  7. +1 More further adventures please! Even if they are only six pagers in other books(like the Old Ye Lore Of Something book).
  8. #1 was drawn like that on purpose because Joe is a big Calvin & Hobbes fan. You can see how his characters look like Calvin pretending to die, when they go through the Black Door. #2 reflected a more colder bleak winter atmosphere to match Erin Voss's thoughts and the final message. #3 was made because... well you are gonna have to read it. The first four issues of this arc were meant to be done in one little ditties. The #5 and #6 issues are gonna set-up the next arc, Time & Tide. The #5 cover with the music box with a bloody Omega symbol really sets a tone by itself.
  9. I wonder what variant you will go after next? I'm still trying to get that ever so elusive new Spielberg variant of #1.
  10. Yeah, I'm not really a seller/dealer anymore and Cheryl's a great friend who says "please's and thank you's" when I send her stuff too for her set. Try these guys, they have great Jetpack stuff.
  11. SPOILER ALERT! With all due respects to Douglas's horniness and Jason's poem in Walking Dead #79, Locke & Key: Keys to The Kingdom #3 was the most kick-butt read of the week. I have to be honest, I was getting worried about the choppiness and rushed story-telling from issue #2 and upon hearing many new keys were gonna be introduced in this issue, I just lost faith that it was gonna be good. Boy, was I wrong. Instead of Joe dragging this series out, with a set of sequences where the Locke kids defeat the evil everytime, he just revs up the storytelling by putting it all together at once with G-Rod's art giving you eye-socket overload. This insane issue covers ever day in the 29 day month of February in 22 pages and each day is worthy of a story arc all by itself. There are possesed squirrel and teddy bear attacks, the "Dark Lady" in plant form, a music box that drives Kinsley insane and more. We even get a Bubo the Owl cameo, more worthy than the one in the Clash of the Titans remake. Buy this book!
  12. Done. I love visiting Jetpack Comics. My last trip there. Wish I lived closer.
  13. Jeff, if you ever have any questions on anything from defects to variants, don't ever hesitate to ask.
  14. It appears that the Locke & Key TV show has a director and star now. http://www.deadline.com/tag/locke-key-casting/ http://www.comicsalliance.com/2010/11/23/mark-romanek-to-direct-locke-and-key-tv-series-starring-miranda-otto/ Lord of the Rings's Miranda Otto is set to play Nina Locke. She also had a role in Spielberg's War of the Worlds. Now, If we only could get Dakota Fanning who played her daughter in that movie to play Kinsey.
  15. Today's new Joe Hill additions. Kodiak and it's variant. It had an estimated print run of 5,465 copies. ...and before someone asks why these are in the Locke & Key thread. Don't get me started. Why Spider-Man Unlimited #8 can be in the L & K thread. Why Grave Tales #6 can be in the L &K thread.
  16. Yeah, great to have you aboard. Registry Set hazing will consist of you having to watch the entire first season of Mr. Belvedere on DVD(we almost lost Heff doing this). Which reminds me. I have to catch up with Burn Notice on the DVR.
  17. Hmmm - not that weird. - Frankensteinsmommy - Gonnacatchyaandmayreleaseya_maybe - Gitchygitchygitchy_teeheehee jhill
  18. Unfortunately, there aren't too many properly made DC movies that actually do go "big". It's why I am not holding my breath on "Green Lantern". I mean, I can only think of Christopher Nolan's Batman movies and Red(modest hit) as making money and a myraid list of the others (Jonah Hex, Watchmen, Superman Returns, Catwoman, Batman & Robin and Steel) that didn't do well. I'm not even talking about the ones that never got off the launch pad even(Supergirl, Justice League) to name a couple. The Walking Dead is a different beast all together. Like Locke & Key, it's creator owned and it's not as mainstream commercial as something as one of the big two could put on Happy Meal orders to action figures across the country. It chugs on from it's own momentum it creates from public awareness. It's also our job as a community here to create that momentum too, by recommending it to our friends and family, so they can experience the next level of entertainment from Modern Day comics. When I hear the budget of Locke & Key's pilot might top $10 million, it makes me feel good, as they are gonna try to make this as big as an event to draw in as much as the mainstream as they can to an unknown property as this is. Mention Locke & Key to a friend, they won't know what you are talking about. Mention it after the promos start popping up. It will be a different story.
