  1. I'm no lawyer, but I did research the public domain requirements. Pussycat is 40 to 50 years away from that, from what I've read. I am surprised that lulu.com is involved with this. I've done business with them in the past. They're a reputable company.
  2. Not sure if they're correct, but the publishers of this book are claiming that Pussycat is now in the public domain: https://www.amazon.com/Kinky-Komix/dp/1312999470/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1474667982&sr=8-1&keywords=Kinky+Komix
  3. I love it when someone gets in on the ground floor of something awesome - just think of all the people who picked up Fantastic Four #1 for cover price. The fact that your friend put his Pussycat collection together cost effectively is even more impressive.
  4. I'm surprised that your friend had never seen a Pussycat story in Stag, WP. Three of the stories reprinted in the one-shot were in previous Stag Annuals. He must have discovered the character in Male magazine, if he didn't purchase the Stags. I bet it was like Christmas for him, when the one-shot was published. A lot of the stories in it would have been new to him.
  5. Nice detective work, WP! I'm sorry that you had to go to all of that effort. I actually own the May and July, 1970 issues, but I never thought to check their indicia. That also seems to explain why the 1970 Men Annual had a new story, while the Male and Stag Annuals had reprints that year. It Happened In Paris was probably originally intended for the nonexistent June issue. The following may be the final version of the list of initial publications of all of the stories. Please refer to 50's posts for a comprehensive list that includes all of the reprintings that we've located. Chronological Listing Of Pussycat Stories: The Mirthful Misadventures Of A Merry, Mixed-Up Miss! -Male Annual 3 (1965) The Mirthful Misadventures Of A Naughty Nonsensical Nymphet! -Stag Annual 3 (1966) The Madly Mirthful Misadventures Of A Lively Little Lass! -Male Annual 4 (1966) The Cool and Carefree Capers Of A Curvy Cuddly Chick! -Stag Annual 4 (1967) The Madly Mirthful Misadventures Of A Most Generously-Endowed Modern Miss! -Men Annual 1 (1967) The Cavortin' Case Of The Booby-Trapped Bra! -Male Annual 5 (1967) The Mischievous Memoirs Of A Merry Little Miss! -Male (March 1968) The Capricious Capers Of A Curvy Cutie-Pie! -Male (April 1968) The Sizzlin' Saga Of A Secret Agent Swinger! -Male (May 1968) The Pin-Up Calendar Caper -Male (June 1968) America's Favorite Dynamite Blonde -Male (July 1968) Another Capricious Caper Of The Country's Most Cataclysmically Cuddlesome Curvaceous Cutie! -Men Annual 2 (1968) Damsel In Disguise -Stag Annual 5 (1968) The Crazy Case Of The Crazy Cases! -Male (Aug 1968) The Bombshell And The Bank! -Male Annual 6 (1968) The Computer And The Cutie -Male (Sept 1968) The Mixed-Up Model -Male (Oct 1968) The Hidden Hippie Caper (and Everett centerfold) -The Adventures of Pussycat (Oct 1968) A Peach On The Beach -Male (Nov 1968) Frenzy In France! -Male (Dec 1968) - none in January - The Spaceman And The Sweetie! -Male (Feb 1969) The Castaway Cutie -Male (Mar 1969) The Lady On The Late Show! -Men (Apr 1969) My Album -Men (May 1969) How Groovy Is My Movie -Men (June 1969) The Kid Flips Her Id! -Men (July 1969) Look Ma... 6. You're very welcome, WP. I was happy to assist. Thanks to you as well. In answer to your more recent question, I've never seen a cover image or other scan of the June, 1970 issue of Men. I've been watching eBay almost daily for about two years, and I've never seen a copy listed. Strange. Maybe Divad can solve the mystery, after he gets home.
  7. I acquired a copy of the January, 1969 Male, after I was misinformed regarding the April, 1968 issue. It's verified Pussycat free. The June, 1970 issue of Men seems to be the holy grail, now. I think that WP has the scan that he needed.
  8. I have a copy of the original printing, so I can confirm that the story was originally published in the August, 1970 issue of Men magazine. The info on the back of the page would reference the month that the book was actually shipped to news stands. Martin Goodman's publishing empire routinely cover dated its product two or three months beyond the actual on sale date. Marvel comics from that era were distributed the same way. I've verified that I did indeed drop the word "Merry" from my entry on Male Annual 7. My apologies. Nice catch, WP! You're obviously the editor that I needed a while back. 50, Please delete the info in parentheses following the title from number 45, when you get a chance. You picked that up from one of my old posts, and I was mistaken.
  9. I was told by sellers on eBay a couple of years ago that the April, 1968 and January, 1969 issues of Male magazine had no Pussycat stories. The owner of the 1968 issue was wrong, so I'm starting to wonder about January, 1969. I've long suspected that the June, 1970 issue of Men contained the original printing of It Happened in Paris. All of the other annuals in 1970 had reprints, but not Men. I've never found a copy available anywhere to prove my suspicion, though. I'm sorry that you're missing the Con, Mr. Cent. It's good to see you posting here again!
  10. I can send you a scan of the final page of Mixed-Up Model. I don't have digital copies of the other two that you need, unfortunately. Does your list say which magazine the April, 1968 story that you've located came from? We're also trying to find out which story was in the June, 1970 issue of Men magazine.
  11. The project isn't complete, yet. There's still one issue to be located and reported on. I'll post on it, if I can ever get my hands on a copy.
  12. No News Is Good Nudes! was reprinted at least one additional time, in the February, 1971 issue of Cartoon Capers. I don't know if we had that one listed previously...
  13. The copies distributed in the US have a 35 cent cover price. The Canadian variants are 40 cents.
  14. That's a great looking copy, and you got it for a really decent price!
  15. The Lady On The Late Show! was published in the April, 1969 issue of Men magazine - four pages, with no creator credits. The artwork for this story was long believed to be Wally Wood layouts with Jim Mooney finishes. The original artwork for the first page was auctioned on Heritage a few months ago. The owner stated at that time that more recent information indicates that Tom Sutton most likely did the layouts.
  16. It's been a while since I published my updated list of each story's chronological first printing. Here it is: The Mirthful Misadventures Of A Merry, Mixed-Up Miss! -Male (March 1968) The Sizzlin' Saga Of A Secret Agent Swinger! -Male (Dec 1968) - none in January, 1969 - The Spaceman And The Sweetie! -Male (Feb 1969) The Castaway Cutie =Male (Mar 1969) My Album -Men (May 1969) How Groovy Is My Movie -Men (June 1969) The Kid Flips Her Id! -Men (July 1969) Look Ma... 17. The May, 1969 issue of Men magazine has My Album - four pages, with art signed by Jim Mooney.
  18. Very comprehensive! The only story that I don't see listed is The Swingin' Statue! - from Men Annual 3. I was wrong about The Lady On The Late Show!. I still don't know where that was printed. I was also mistaken about The Sexpot And The Sultan following No News Is Good Nudes. It did not.
  19. Very nice! Those pages are from a story called Maid On A Mountain, or, Dig Those Peaks! That was the final Pussycat story, originally published in August, 1972. It was also the final reprint, to the best of our knowledge. The Joke's On Her was published in the December, 1969 issue of Men magazine - four pages, with no creator credits.
  20. It's a cropped Jim Mooney panel from page two of a story called Bullets, Boodles and Broads - originally from the April 1972 issue of Men magazine, and reprinted at least once.
  21. The Crazy Case Of The Crazy Cases! was originally published in the August, 1968 issue of Male magazine. It was reprinted in a 1970 issue of Man's World, but the reprint was poor (all four pages of the story reduced to quarter size and printed on one page). I'm always reading the thread. I only post when I have something of value, or a question...
  22. Where did you get the titles of the bottom two stories (It's A Gass Lass, and The Joke's On Her)? Just curious.
  23. Thank you for investigating (and investing in) the Spanish language Pussycat comic, Mr. Cent! Men Annual 3 of 1969 contains The Swingin' Statue! - 5 pages, with no creator credits. My earlier guess that the issue contained The Lady On The Late Show! was obviously wrong. If my calculations are correct, we only have four Pussycat stories left to identify...
  24. Does anyone know if there's a connection here? That logo is very similar... http://www.ebay.com/itm/170687396983?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649
  25. "'Twas The Night Before Xmas..." is part of the January, 1970 issue of Men magazine. The Lady On The Late Show! was most likely first printed in Men Annual 3 of 1969. I've been unable to locate a copy to verify that. If anyone reading this thread has a copy, please let us know which story is in there. That is a beautiful copy, divad!
