I even tried deleting everything except names (e.g., dates added, aliases, etc.)...still it's twice too large If you use the iframe instead of the div tag, you'll be able to get it in there. They were here last night, making brain-surgeon type posts like this. Do you really feel that way about Speedy's post, Joe? I mean it is a sure fire way to insure that PL / HOS members can't profit by selling here It also means that a situation would be created where "some" people could get off the hook after throwing up the , while "others" would be thrown to the probation list. In fact, if the mods are unwilling to ban p.l. or H.O.S. members from starting sales threads, and will give strikes to those who point out the fact that that seller is on one of the lists, then what good is any of it? And we already know that PL/HOS'ers are profiting at the very least by buying here, when we have well-known boardies admitting that they will sell to them no matter what. How would you know if they were getting off the hook or not after throwing up a ? I don't think the buyer who wants to back out is going to say "hey I never was going to buy these books I threw a for anyway, so its a good thing they are on the PL /HOS list so I can get out of this and put the screw to everybody". You may be putting more into what Speedy said than is really necessary. The fact that some sellers here sell to PL / HOS members undermines everything the list attempts to do... and I don't like it either. Sadly it is still their decision to do it. If you want to let them know how you feel about it, just ignore their sales threads and hit them where it hurts... the pocket closest to the crotch.

Okay, at the risk of changing the subject, I don't think I always understand when people use the . Are you being sarcastic? Knowing? Baiting? Wry? Probably all four. I personally feel that the popular opinion vote would prevent ANY PL / HOS member from putting someone on the list. Could be wrong since before this past year, I didn't believe a boardie could change stated board rules with a phone call either. Just stating that there have been many instances of people backing out of 's when its brought to their attention that a seller is on the PL or HOS. I'd have no beef with someone backing out of a deal with a PL/HoSer. I'd be a lot beefier with them if they didn't. Yet hasn't Branget, among some other boardies, already said they had no problems dealing with P.L./H.O.S.'ers? As wrong as I feel that is... it is ultimately their choice to do business with PL / HOS members. They also take all the risk too.

But is the phrase in bold above completely true? Wasn't the rule, if you willingly throw up the in a probation or H.O.S. member's thread, you did so at your own risk, therefore, the option of "backing out" of the deal was not available? Especially in this case, where it's been pointed out at least 4 times. If someone throws up the in that thread, after the repeated warnings, they're on their own. And if they back out of the deal after knowingly dealing with a H.O.S.'er, shouldn't they themselves go on the P.L. for not completing the transaction. This is one of those cases where new precedents are being set, because we've never had to really deal with it before. People who didn't know who they were dealing with have backed out of in the past because of this. Plus... its still a voting process to put someone on the PL / HOS. I feel the vote would fall in the unknowing buyer's favor in this scenario.

I think its VERY possible to visit Brockland with the current moderation policies in place. I see no reason to chance it when other options are at your disposal.

And it's been said that I'm on a "lunatic fringe" ... Listen fellas... why put yourselves in the line of fire? There are enough of you all watching probation list and HOS members... why not just show some patience and let a buyer throw a , ...then just PM the buyer. The buyer will not be held accountable for his purchase to a PL/HOS member if he backs out of the sale. Hopefully he/she will be contacted before they send funds.
