  1. Kudos to Joeypost for handling my first SS submission (thumbs u
  2. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you: My first EVER CGC submission Check for more details in my Journal and in the Sig room. Highest and ONLY SS, baby! Estimated grade: 9.2 - Very pleased with the grade. A couple of sweet Mexican comics that I picked up when I went to Mazatlan over the Winter Break that I thought would grade high enough. This one was supposed to just be Paquette, but the second signature was a nice surprise. Est: 9.4 Est: 9.4 Has a cool flip cover as well, I can scan if you guys want. For my Registry set in my signature. Long story behind this one, check it out in it's registry slot. Est: 9.6-9.8 Top graded, and ONLY SS! This was actually an eBay win. Who says eBay's all bad? Est: 9.6 And last, but not least... I actually had this one graded at a 9.2. I bought it along with two others (one of which I sold to Katfish) for the very purpose of trying to find a good one for SS. I finally decided on this one, and it looks like I was correct in my choice! I'm proud to say this is the highest graded SS and I believe it is the only one signed by Batton Lash. Real top-notch guy, too.
  3. Here's some new pickups: Dutch ASM 129 from Allan (Chromium) Thanks Allan A nice eBay win (ASM 238 from France): From Easter - nice Modern digest from France
  4. WOW! how much did the last one go for? There have been no other sales. The only copy up until this one belongs to board member Telerites. Legend has it that a friend urged him to buy the book in college. He kept if for years and didn't bother to submit it until Wizard World Texas '08. That's amazing.
  5. Nice base Bryan! How big is the room itself? Just the size of the indent in the wall? Mine's about that size
  6. That sounds like a mess. Did you guys score the books from him? I've met Thomas Jane. I have a picture with him, he signed my Punisher/Archie books, told me he thought they were cool, and my mom thinks he's attractive. Wanna buy my books?
  7. As a side note, it is my opinion that shipping slabs in envelopes of any kind is stupid.
  8. I definitely agree with you that envelopes aren't suitable for high grade expensive books. And I'm sure the "low grade junk" comment wasn't directed at me, but you are correct. I generally buy less expensive items (high and low grade) so cardboard and a mailer are often fine for me. Like I said, I haven't had a single incident yet. Unfortunately for me, boxes do cost more to send in Canada, so they're not practical for one or two books.
  9. I've personally had about 97% of my books shipped in envelopes (bubble, manila, priority) and they've all arrived to me in tip-top shape.
  10. I vote Hulk. He once held up an entire mountain to save his fellow heroes.
  11. Nice. Yeah, Dan told me he sold it a while back. Did you meet him at a show?
  12. Thanks Nick I bought these from Sam (Mr 9.8) and he graded them as 9.8 copies You bought them from your brother??? Sweet
  13. Nice. For some reason, I seem to remember my buddy Hans buying the OA to that issue. Maybe he bought it as a commission or something. When'd you pick this up? It truly is a beautiful cover
  14. Did you happen to buy that from a collector named Hans?
  15. I wouldn't consider the best place to put your money. To give you an idea, I recently put a 9.4 #4 in an open auction on ebay...ended at $34, which is right around what I was expecting for it. The price on a #4 doesn't really creep up there until 9.6 or so. I'd say hold out for a 9.4 or pay less for the 9.2. Heck, I wish I'd have known you were looking for one about a week ago when I listed it. As far as grading goes, issues 1-4, Raphael, and Fugitoid are all considered magazine-sized and as such can't be combined with normal modern subs. It'll take longer to come back and cost a little more to get this one graded unless you send it in with a few other magazines. Are you looking for the issue because you like the cover, are you trying to complete a set, or are you interested in the story? Thanks for the info, I'll let this one slide. I personally want the issue (along with 1-3 eventually) because I think the cover art is awesome and the first four issues are symbolic to me in a way.
  16. Nice subs Aggiez! Were you at the show?
  17. Would a TMNT #4 9.2 be worth buying for around $40? I know nothing about it, but I want a copy. Also, would it be worth the cost to slab it?
