  1. I've been criticized for this - " IN the Thread Trumps ANY and ALL PM negotiations " But it really is the fairest way. As a seller if we agree in a PM, and you want to keep it private, I will try my best to mark it for you in the thread. But you run the risk of losing it to someone who posts in the meantime. As a buyer, I know I run the risk of losing the book by keeping things private.

  12. Hows that, Transplant posted the seller decided to honor his BS rule instead. The seller didn't see it. That's a ridiculous argument. It would allow a shady seller to just not open a PM he thinks probably has a final "ok" in it and wait for an 'I'll take it" in the thread. Knowing all along if that doesn't happen he still has a sale waiting in an unopened PM. Not saying that's what Dan did, but that's what this line of thinking is opening things up to. That's not my MO. We are talking a few dollars difference. If you look at my past sales threads, I usually deal in dollar amounts that $40 or $45 dollars isn't going to make a difference. If I read through some of my old PM's, I could probably find many times where I responded right away and told the seller to either post it IN the thread before someone else snags it, or I can post it for you.
  13. Bottom line - MY sales thread, MY rules. If you don't like them don't bid. Simple as that. The only person I owe an explanation to is Mike, and I already did that. You and a few others Boardies feel obligated to stick your nose in my business where it doesn't belong. (If you read these threads, it's obvious who the other is) Your comments and accusations certainly did NOT belong in my sales thread. Maybe that should be looked into. I believe that breaks a rule? Your comment that you put IN my sales thread to put me on the PL mysteriously disappeared moments after it was posted. Weve never done business, yet you have an axe to grind for some reason. You bring up the fact that I threw a " fit" about a re-sub. Well guess what.. I was right and CGC was wrong. If they weren't, they would not have compensated me for it. If I would have kept my mouth shut I would have been screwed. And how does that make me a bad seller?? Post examples of me being a "bad seller" If selling quality CGC books for mostly below GPA, packing them bomb-proof, and shipping them right away is bad, then maybe I am. EDIT - And FREE insured shipping in the USA! Oh no, your going to put me on a list of people you wont buy from. You've never bought anything from me in the 1st place. And now your on list of I wont sell to.
  14. Hows that, Transplant posted the seller decided to honor his BS rule instead. Just to be clear - the was never posted in a PM
  15. Yes, a few minutes prior, but its irrelevant to the rules that were posted at 3:09 This is a little different then the stated rules. A deal was finalized in PM. I change my opinion, I would think the book would go to Transplant. in the thread trumps PM negotiations. It seems like negotiations were over and a deal was struck. AGAIN...... I didn't read Mike's "DONE" response in his PM because I was away from the PC. If I had, I would have posted it sold myself. Ive done that MANY times in the past to respect buyers privacy.
  16. This is a standard practice in ALL of my sales threads. I've sold many books here on the Boards, and this is the 1st time this has happened. I posted the book Got a lot of nice comments Got a few PM's (none from roulette44) Mike PM'ed with a few questions, I answered I had to run some errands with the wife I came back, both "i'll take its" were posted, and the drama already started Had I read Mike's acceptance prior to the "Ill take it" IN the thread, I would have posted it "SOLD via PM" myself. (If I could have even got it up in the few minutes between) Again, check any of my sales threads and see I've done that many times) Therefore 1st "Ill take it IN the thread wins Sorry if you don't like the rules I posted, but they were posted
  17. Bobby is one of the good guys! Sold him an ASM #1, and the transaction went perfect! I look forward to more dealings in then future (thumbs u
  18. No it's not "crass". You had the book. It was a nice book. But you resubmitted the book, not because it would make the book any nicer but because you wanted a higher number on the label. If you think many/most of us are going to sympathize with anyone who takes a loss on such outright shenanigans, you're not living in the real world. Again for those that haven't read the entire thread.... IM NOT LOOKING FOR SYMPATHY
  19. Shame my backside! That's precisely what it was, nothing but a business decision. But guess what? Some of us are fed up to here with those who treat comics as nothing but a business. Really?!? Do you BUY your comics? I wonder where from? Does your LCS treat comics as a business? Shame on them! It's a bit crass to cherry pick his statement in the out of context manner you did, and imply there's anything screwy about it. He's specifically talking about the crack, (with or without a press) and resubmit play, which you conveniently omitted. Regardless of whether you see the trend of hobby demand shrinking on anything outside the 10-15 books everyone wants as being problematic, it certainly is telling to see the voracious appetites of those trying to game the system, especially when you look at how the timeline of this situation began on Valentines Day with your post and ended with Paul's post three days ago, and how it's allowed the community to see the exact same book resubbed three times in the space of two months. If this were a drug, someone would have already intervened and warned of the addiction potential. Don't you think its a little crass to say "If you're going to play the crack and resubmit game, you better be prepared to lose some of the time. And don't you come crying to this board to get sympathy. Most of us will just snicker" (I did leave that part out) Im not looking for sympathy. I brought this to the attention of a community of people who I thought might want to know about it.

  21. Here is a link to CGC's updated response http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=7634489#Post7634489
  22. As they say on storage wars..... YUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUPP While we are patting ourselves on the back...... To be fair you never had the book in hand. While that crease is ugly, that certainly doesn't make a 7.0 totally impossible. The inside is nearly perfect, and the back cover is really nice. If grading was based solely how the cover looks, then I would agree with you It's a 6.5 Universal IMO
  23. I worked on the Assembly line for years... Quality is Job #1!! Until something happens to slow the line down, then production numbers become Job #1and we will deal with the Quality issue IF and when it ever arises down the road
