Also, just bought out 7000 classics from Classics Central.com. This web page is the most extensive on the Internet for classics. About half of Rudy's inventory is listed on the site but another 4000 classics are now in hand. So use the list on the site for a start but ignor the retail prices Needless to say, I can offer super discounts for anything you see on the site. Unfortunately, the web site is not my property so if anyone wants to buy, sell, or trade, email me directly at mberkus@aol.com. This is still only a hobby for me so don't think I became a Retail dealer. Just a collector that wants to hook up with other collectors. I can help with "reader" copies from $2 to high end stuff. hey, cool items. I have the set, UK issued. How did you get um? Not too many US collectors bother with international sales. A bit risky and expensive to ship from UK. Plus the pound is way high right now. If I could learn how to post an image (help!!), I could put the Italian, French, UK, Australian, etc on the boards. Thanks, Mike

Thanks, nice of you to find the references. I picked them all up in a UK buy of 100 comics last week. I found one of the original Classics Illustrated from Canada, #20. The guide said "only one known copy". It's a test copy with black insides covers and back. Very tough. Amazing the comics coming out of the UK.

Thanks for the response. This is Eerie published by Gold star in London, 1972 Cover is 20p, Volume 1, Number 1. Publisher is James Warren, so obviously, this is a UK edition. Weird is published by Eerie publications, April 1967, and is listed in NY, so obviously US edition Vol2, #2. Another Eerie, published by Warren Sept 1968, Vol 17. and then Shock vol 1 #3, sept 1969, Stanley pubs, NY. Values, demand?? Thanks, Mike

The annuals are great reading! Super stuff, glad not to be alone in my obsession. Haven't tried to launch pictures, is it easy (real easy???). Can I take them off my iPad, then put them into docs, then pull them up on this site for print? Please help.

Neat picture of the 7 originals. I sold my originals and might start over. I have all the Classics but my first 34 are first CI editions, not CC's. The rest are originals. If you wish to consider it, $1000 for the 7 shown! Regards, Mike

Glad to see so many interests. I have my set listed on the Registry, still waiting for 30 more to be graded. I suspect it's a fool's game to grade the later issues, but hey, lots of high condition and it's my fix. I am putting a second set together just to read. Wonder if there is a pill to slow up this sickness?

Wow, now I did it! Started a stampede to find all the treasures, . Glad to help, One small tip. Take a picture of one of the French comics and put it on your phone, that way when you hit a swap meet or a book store you can show them what you are looking for. Lots of misunderstanding when you just say "comic books". Don't forget to ask for US or other Classic issues as well. During the war and afterwards, millions of Classics were sent to our troops. Mondial Aventures 1954 - 1959, 1-30 with issues #1, 5, 8, 10, 12, 13, 14, 17, 18, 19, 22, 24, 26, and 27 are US titles. All the other issues are unique to the French series and really interesting. John Malen's reference guide (may be purchased on the site "classics central") not only is extremely knowledgeable about all the foreign issues, but details the complexities and nuances, surrounding the publications. Very helpful on my hunt for the bizarre. Even the US titles have different covers. Really a bright and super group of comics. If you have any Canadians, Australians, or 1st edition US (1-34), I would offer a trade. Also, Little Lulu's in very high grade. Anyway, it's fun to know this stuff but useless in the world around us. . Regards, Mike

Thanks, those are them! So strange when I found out that the major titles were redone in all the different countries. Each has a very special twist, covers, back, scarcity, etc. I have managed to put together Brazilian, Mexican, and Swedish groups. Wonderful hunt.

Yep, sorry. Not the best it could be but still a nice comic. I wish you had a ton of Canadian Classics, would love to find a group.

Hi, got it coming from UK. Bought it and will see how it compares to the one in my set. I am more interested in a trade? I need a decent #5 and #49 in the Canadian series. I suppose you know the history of #20 and the blank pages? Quite an unusual story of these 2nd year (1947) Canadian issues. The price guide (Malen), shows #20 to have only one know existing copy. Of course, the guide was published in the mid 90's, but still I have only found #10-#20 in the UK. Never in Canada, except from serious collectors and I am not sure how they got theirs.The Guide doesn't even list #17, since they quote none known. Hi, the French set has 30 issues. Titled "Mondial Aventures". Give me awhile and I will post a couple of pictures. Very cool set. I have about 8 dups. All were produced in the mid 50's. I found some at a flea market in Cannes. Kind of weird to shop for comics in Europe but now it's a blast. Prices when one hits here on eBay are 4 times what you can deal for in a book store or swap meet in the foreign markets.

Hi, I agree, it is not common to find any extremist in Classics. Funny, most comic fans from the 60's or before, all know and owned Classics. So the label is very well known. Collectors, that is a different breed. Caring about what you used as a reference for book reports and comic collecting, split paths. When I hit a local comic show, the most common response I get from dealers (when asked for Classicis) is, "yeah, got a ton of them but didn't want to lug the boxes to the show". I also loved the EC's because of the famed comic burn era of the middle 50's. As for the Anthologies, not into those yet. Still struggling with how much to spend on Classics, worried about owning a dying breed? Your thoughts on the series continuing to be collectible?
