  1. Looks like a pretty solid 4.0 - no chipping, just pre. Not sure what the smudges are, and I don't see any rust migration. I like the centering here - I haven't seen many copies with that much of the M in Magneto showing...
  2. Just bought this from a fellow boardie! Nick Fury #1 $2000 (best centering I have ever seen on this book, not the typical wrap around of the #1)
  3. not that I don't believe you - I do - but just curious how you know it's the same book?
  4. I'd look for one with no chipping or pre-chipping, and nicely centered - may as well get the best 3.5 you can find!
  5. wow man - that is super helpful - thank you
  6. actually, my initial post asked about a reasonable price for the 9.2 I posted - I'd love to hear the board's thoughts on what that might be - again, I know there would be a wide range, but just looking for what the board thinks is the reasonable range...
  7. I'm so intrigued by this green thing. Of course we know that all books have subtle variations of color, but is it common for there to be 2 more or less "variants" in shade that are this distinct? Is there any other key book that shows this?
  8. Ah - so glad I ask the board these things. I didn't even notice! You're right - what's with those greens?? So you're saying the was a 9.0 that got re-subbed and got a 9.2? This is very interesting - go back 3 pages and take another look at my raw copy, it has the same greens as this 9.2. but who's to say which are the "right" greens? is it the popular conception that your copy (nice btw) and this 9.2's greens are indeed "wonky"? actually - just went on ebay and checked out a lot of X-Men 1 - all grades, CGC and raw - and a number of them had this lighter green color... and the copy shown in GCD also has the lighter green... ??
  9. Ah - so glad I ask the board these things. I didn't even notice! You're right - what's with those greens?? So you're saying the was a 9.0 that got re-subbed and got a 9.2?
  10. Wondering what you all think is a fair price for this X-Men 1, 9.2. Yes, I know it could vary widely, and it's worth what someone will pay, blah, blah. I also know all the GPA stats on it. But wondering what you think is a low price, a fair price, and a high price for it...
  11. Thanks Marco - I love it - An 8.5 that truly looks like an 8.5 - and at a good price and super-fast shipping from the Great White North. Wish all transactions were this hassle-free! Best, Rich
  12. Did you read 'em til the covers fell off, or did you cradle them with care?
  13. Please do - given I now own nothing that I bought off the newsstand myself, then next best book for me is one that came from an original owner. Kudos for saving your books - if you have time, post a few pics - I'd love to see what you bought back in the day!
