Ur essentially buying the front cover.
thanks for your astute observation. based on the tec 27 cover sale, this might be quite a few bands out my price range.

So many low/no grade ultrakeys: Tec 27, Supes 1, Batman 1, Cap 1, All-Star 8, and the list goes on...
Fortunately, I was in some sort of collision and have some extra cash burning a hole in my pocket from the rather large settlement. My friends call me Parmy (short for parmesan) from all the cheese I have - as in money (cheddar).

tried to read this comic on an airplane one time. because of the cover, the guy next to me thought some very unsavory things about me. He kept putting his armrest down and it kept hitting my arm the whole flight. never making that mistake again

Also, surprisingly no relation to seinfeld. Field/feld throws some people off. also both being in comedy

Thought 300 was a bit historically misleading. many of the events of the film never even happened.

It was more like an exciting two months. Bought my first one in May and more in June. By July all the SA Marvels were gone.
arguably the most exciting two months any person could have in their life. Unfortunately, you may have peaked. Don't be too hard on yourself on the way down. The light at the end of the tunnel is there. You just. have. to. fight.

Bone may just be the most interesting character in comic history. Big nose on that thang

They should have entered the public domain a long time ago. The 1998 Copyright Protection Act was yet another example of Congress placing corporate interests above public interest.
That's.... a take

Love Streaky, but I think the writers really jumped the shark here with super-monkey. Didn't even bother giving him a real name. Same with super-horse. That's pretty embarrassing. Just slapped capes on a monkey and a horse. Look, I get that they're not as prominent as streaky and krypto, but they really didnt even bother trying to give them distinct personalities either. shameful. been thinking about this for a while.

Never played the game but I watched a few clips and it looks disappointing. Was a big fan of some of the clips I saw from the Arkham series, so I had high expectations for this game. Rocksteady studios should change their name to Rock- the game isnt ready- studios. Needed to go back in the incubator and have all the story and dialogue worked out before they pushed out this unfinished mud that they call a "video game." really really upset. lost a lot of sleep over it.

A clear reminder why I never bother to bid in CL auctions because you usually don't have the time to make a rational decision if you want to win because there are competing bidders out there throwing last second Hail Mary bids, as this copy of Police Comics 1 went from $28,250 all the way up to a winning bid of $40K in the LAST 4 SECONDS of the auction:
I much prefer the CC auction format with the 3-minute extended bidding format whereby you have the actual time to rationalize whether you should hit the next bid increment or not.
Honestly, I expected a greater jump. Watched the auction close and when it ended at 40 I had to rub my eyes to make sure I was reading it right. Took a few minutes for it to settle in. Four zero. Wow. Surprised this didn't break 50, but have no doubt the price will continue to rise.

Yeah. Not a big fan. Also, I've heard some truly horrible things about the folks over at CC. Things I wish I could forget.

Umm, have you watched any of her movies recently? Check out these reddit threads where she is absolutely EVISCERATED

I posted this one to /r/clevercomebacks and got a lot of upvotes

I must have missed those threads. I do think she might be leaning into the action roles a bit too much. But she definitely has the chops. Hope to see some more dramatic roles from her in the future. Think she would work well with a director like Scorsese or Tarantino. I looked for her agents email to give her some film recs with types of roles I think she would but good for I haven't been able to find it. Hoping witht the sale of the wonder woman comifc and with this thread someone from her team might see and reach out

Let's get down to business. These are the top 3 comics ending at auction tomorrow:
Number 3: Wonder Woman #1 CGC 5.5: Estimated Hammer Price - $65,000. This is a real good book. I like the look of it and it's gonna go for quite a hefty sum. Gal Gadot is a talented actress and a very tall woman.
Number 2: Tomb of Terror #15 CGC 8.0: Estimated Hammer Price - $19,000. So as you can see, the guy's face... yeah, it explodes. Pretty friggin sweet.
Number 1: THE HOLY GRAIL... Police Comics #1 CGC 8.5: Estimated Hammer Price - $43,000+. Doubt we see another book like this at auction again. 4.0 just sold for 18k. Let's do the math. 8.5/4= a little over 2. 18000*2ish = approximately 40000. adjust for inflation and eye appeal. that's a lot. Plus with the rumors of a plastic man movie with timothy chalament and margot robbie (2027), this book is gonna BOOM. I was the high bidder at 17k but unfortunately cant go higher as the wife needed an enhancement surgery and the budget is tight.
Excelsior!

so I have a combination of either rats or bed bugs in my studio apartment (rent controlled) in the upper east side. have had a lot of similar issues with comics. set up a mouse trap with a block of swiss cheese, but waken up at 3 am one morning and forgot about the trap. tried to grap the cheese and the thing got my finger. YOUCH!

the spiderman is pretty big these days. that kid tim holland has a lot of potential... hope he goes for some more serious roles in the future though. I think he could meet Oscar in about 30 years
