  1. Glad I got in before the jump! This book is going up as time goes on
  2. Beautiful high grade copies. Make my VG raws look like but I love these books!
  3. The run up will level off post movie....but with a slight bump better than before the movie. Thats my prediction.
  4. It looks legit. A 6.5 just sold for $2,175. This book is on fire
  5. I surprised it went that high with brittle pages as well. However, this book is just exceeding all expectations at this point. I would not have bid on that book. I know the underbidder and he legitimately lost out so it was not a shill situation for sure.
  6. Great transaction and no issues. Would gladly do biz again.
  7. Had never even heard of this title before. Nice grouping of all 11 issues - congrats. And please let us know who the dealer is... Thanks, guys! Hey, Tom! Believe it or not, there is also a series called "Date With Debbi" that ran about the same time. It lasted 18 issues, and I would love to find a high grade copy of number 18! It is actually a 20 cent cover. The dealer is Cedar Chest Comics out of New York, I believe. He has some nice raws and slabs, but be careful with the raws if you have them graded! I've dealt with Cedar Chest with mixed results and he lives in Florida now. He should have taken care of you on that restored book. The guy is more of a collector who is selling books than a real dealer and also he isn't that nice to deal with from my experience. This is further proof I will stay far away from this guy. Mark, No doubt. he just didn't seem to understand why someone wouldn't want a restored book that wasn't sold as restored. It became clear pretty quickly that I was a bother to him. I stepped away and will not deal with him again. Trust me, he gets it. He just wanted to be a tool and not help you. Sorry to hear about it. At least it was a small amount of money.

  9. I bought a book graded by them once on eBay. It was a joke. The case was a snap together case that could be opened and closed easily. The book was listed a 9.6 and was really an 8.0 at best once in hand. Never again.
  10. That's one of my favorite Superman covers, congratulations! Thank you! Mine also.
  11. Thanks guys. I think the general concensus is to not restore it. I'm just concerned that tape is going to eat away at the book eventually but you are right. It's best to leave it alone. I'm a happy camper with it.
  12. I'm back in the Golden Age club. I used to own several GA books when I was younger but sadly sold them. I've been working on my SA books for the past several years and decided to jump in with a book i've loved since I was 7 years old. I'm still looking to upgrade and might even restore this copy (opinions?)
  13. Thanks everyone who has posted on my kudos thread. I appreciate all the kind words and it's been a pleasure with all of you as well. Having 11 pages (and growing) of awesome feedback is a nice thing to look upon. Thank you!
  14. As expected, my transaction with Lonetree was great. No issues at all and quick communication. Hope we do biz in the future! Thanks again
  15. So funny...me and Gino wrote almost the same thing and I didnt even see it.
  16. I like it, however, reminds me of an attorneys office, is it... From a different angle: Beautiful
  17. That is a lovely copy of an early Flash. It's amazing to me how the hobby/boards have changed (ultimately accepted the inevitable). We used to argue over the horrors of pressing and there were two distinct camps. Those who were totally repulsed and those who felt that it was better for them to be the recipient of a higher grade/price on their own books. I must have sold 200-300 of my original books untouched back in 2004-2006. And in many instances someone else bought, upgraded and profited from their "restoration". Fortunately I did quite well anyway as there weren't too many original collections unearthed at that juncture. Now it seems all but a given that most slabbed books will have already been "restored". You'll note the quotation marks as I'm not fully up to speed as to what is considered restored these days. Times change - live and learn... It seems many new to the hobby are just fine with pressing a book before grading, even if it doesn't need it. It's great for the pressing service people but for the hobby it's a joke. Not every book needs a press and the idea of doing a cleaning on that book seems unwarranted To each his own.
  18. Yeah that's a definite resub. Insane books man.
