  1. Not sure which 4 you mean but: SC4 @350 SC8 @183 H1 @ 1279 AF15 @2471 Flash 105 @454 Flash 106 @205 Flash 123 @593 Actually I was thinking of Showcase 4, 8, 13 and 14 but those other ones are nice to see for comparison's sake as well. Showcase 13 @ 132 Showcase 14 @ 151
  2. Compare these figures in 3 months. This is only a short term trend. I most definitely will. Unfortunately, those sales won't be in GPA. But i'll have it written down to compare. I totally agree...one data point doesn't indicate a trend. My career is based on data analysis so an n=1 is always concerning. I was basing my predictions based on recent lower-mid grade sales I have seen also. Sales off eBay and sales from some other dealers as well. I know SC4 is on the rise. Will it stay is always the burning question. No pun intended Burntboy.
  3. I don't know why you would call me a know it all. If anything I have always professed to know relatively little and am in a constant state of learning. You have a sense of immediacy about your posts. It's a discussion, not a contest. I'm here for the discussion, not to prove anyone right or wrong. Your pom-pomming speaks volumes about why you post. The fact that Showcase #4 is soaring to unprecedented heights has no fundamentals in any logic whatsoever IMO. It was a dog book for decades that nobody wanted to pay for and the fact that it's gone up 3-5 times in price is not a good sign IMO. But the helicopter-value-club seems to disagree. Has it overtaken AF #15? For the time being. Am I wrong? Yes. I don't think it's going to stay that way long term. As I said in another thread, if it does we have larger things to worry about than whether Flash is more popular than Spider-man. Ah, the passive aggressive 'enjoy your day'. After taking a stand with a strong offensive rebuttal a polite 'enjoy your day' is the true sign of a civilized conversation. Mark, I should have known better than to reply to you after years of avoiding you. I regret doing so and I'll go back to avoiding you. Apologies for the tangent to the group. Works for me Roy. I didn't miss you, didn't miss out on getting great high grade comics and things are great. And my enjoy your day wasn't passive aggressive. I don't wish you harm. Why would I? We don't have to agree on comic books Roy. My world won't end and I'm not losing sleep about it. I'm sure you feel the same. Again, enjoy your day. I mean it. I'm going to enjoy mine.
  4. I mean it with the kindest intentions.
  5. Absolutely. The same can be said for Hulk 1 vs AF15. You double up the census and hulk crashes. Supply and demand. +1 on that.
  6. I love me a good meme. Enjoy your day Fingh!
  7. Hey, I already admitted earlier in the thread that I was surprised at the price of the 7.5 Personally, I don't believe that one sale a new trend makes but I guess that will depend on how many people decide to run with the new trend. When I want to talk about market strength I prefer to look at trends over several data points and not just selective sales. People have a tendency to extrapolate from selective sales to make their case and form new trends. I've already explained in the AF #15 discussion how AF #15 took off (again) after a few upgradeable copies broke GPA records and the public (or at least future buyers) took those new GPA highs as an indicator of actual demand. People balked at it but the timeline and actual events connect the dots quite clearly. I'm not saying that the SC #4 7.5 from last night was upgradeable but I am saying that the new price point is not realistically fitting into what I know about comics and comic prices. So why do I think it went so high? I'll keep that answer to myself. Do I now think that SC #4 will overtake AF #15? No. I still don't believe it will over all. And this is why RMA called you a noob. You consistently act like one. You consistently post like it's your 1st day around here even though you've been here for years. I even admitted last night that I was surprised at the price of the 7.5 so I have no idea why you'd reply to Ice's quote about me that way. I've never had a problem admitting that I'm wrong and am very open about that quality. Being surprised and admitting you are wrong are two different things. Take off the hippy glasses and tight pants and accept it. You don't know it all Roy. Call me whatever name you want. You are a know-it-all Roy. Lots of people on here know that about you. You perpetuate it all the time. And, your generalized sweeping statements about my posts are ridiculous. Go see all my posts on this whole forum and see that majority of them are not engaging anyone immaturely. You on the other hand. have to add your little commentary into everything...because you are a know it all. Enjoy your day.
  8. I would generally agree with this type of statement however SC4 has been passing each last sale with a higher sale for over a year. Its not like what we saw with some other quick rising books where a huge spike and then drops back down but rather a nice slow grind of increase sale after sale. And other key Flash books have been hitting higher prices Flash 105 Flash 123 Flash 139 Have all seen spikes in values on some grades. Check it.
  9. However, they were wrong. SC 4 in 5.0 last night -29.7k VERSUS AF15 5.0 last sale $26,500 SC4 in 7.5 last night - 78.5k VERSUS AF15 last sale $73,500
  10. Never is an awfully long time Absolutely never. I can't believe people would even think it might. From April 29, 2015 Wonder if those how said these things have changed their tune at all? Admit their wrong? I won't hold my breath.
  11. SPAM! Good luck. Sick book!!!
  12. Me too! I bought a TOS 39 my first week in the boards...while that has gone up...I wish I bought a SC4 back then too
  13. What the Flash? According to some here he's a joke and no way he can be worth much... I'm being sarcastic of course. I knew this book was on fire in all grades and has surpassed Hulk 1 and pushing AF15. I hope it continues.
  14. I've turned down multiple 25K offers on my 5.0 sc4 SC4 is really showing growth. I was called crazy saying it was competing with stronger numbers than Hulk 1...sure looks like it in these grades
  15. Really strange why the Hulk 1 is so much higher. Both are the result of extensive resto...I don't get it.
  16. Definitely worth a watch. That was touching, inspiring, intelligent and really great. Thanks for sharing.
  17. I agree that value is a bit softer on the CBCS side. I'll tell you why it is for me... I'm a collector and I like uniformity. I don't want my comic run to have a mix of CGC and CBCS so I don't bid on CBCS books.
  18. It's become evident that loose grading has led to significant discounts on their books. I know I refrain from buying them unless they are offered well below GPA prices. I know some one who deslabbed a whole bunch of books from one and had them reslabbed by the other, and had the complete opposite outcome. It would be nice to have the details because my impression is the general experience has been the opposite. I don't follow sales of SA keys systematically enough to say this definitively, but it sure appears that the CBCS graded books sell at a discount to CGC graded books. At some point, maybe GPA will begin following CBCS graded books and we can do a more complete analysis. I know someone who had a CGC TTA 35 9.2. It was then pressed and submitted to CBCS. Came back same exact grade.
  19. I like the movie. I was entertained and the acting was good, the action was awesome and the effects were top notch. Yes, there were some choppy scenes where you arent sure what's happening at first but I liked the movie and the narrative. I liked it better than Man of Steel. I liked Affleck as Bruce Wayne and Batman better than Christian Bale. Some may think i'm nuts...so be it. He was more true to what I picture Batman fighting and acting. No spoilers from me. I am looking forward the movies that come next. And, I might even see BvS again. My vote is to go see it and don't listen to other opinions.
  20. I'd say it's one of the larger niche markets - they will naturally go for a small premium but like any manufacturing error, not everyone likes them. As a lover of unique books, I would personally pay a fair price over market value for most of the books posted here. Thanks. I recently bought a 9.4 graded Iron Man 37 Double Cover. I'll post some pics soon. I paid about $75 over GPA for it.
